However, the icing to cake ratio for the cupcakes was insane. I think the cupcakes would taste better with half the amount of icing. Also, the prices were quite steep, which is fine, but I wish there was an option to purchase 1 cupcake. The staff member informed us that we were required to purchase a minimum of 4 or 6 (I can't remember). I would return for special occasion to splurge. read more

For sweet treats on the national chain level, Gigi's is one of the better ones and this Cedar Hills location is no exception. Since each spot is regional, the variety will vary a bit, but I've found they've had a decent selection from the get-go. And of course, the cupcakes themselves will satisfy any sweet tooth craving. Ordering up box, especially during the holiday weekend, was a cinch. While it's not completely real time, the website does a good job of showing availability but reserve what's available and call afterward to adjust the order if necessary. It's also important to note that most cupcakes are seasonal and won't be available after a few weeks / months. Chocolate lovers are sure to love their triple chocolate torte, which is super chocolate'y and smooth throughout. I personally really like the strawberry shortcake, lemon icebox, and red velvet. Despite being crazy overpriced, the round and square cakes are quite good and should be considered for any special occasion. Regarding the price tag, it's definitely steep. A dozen cupcakes will run one almost $50, and the "mini dozen" is just under $20. The bright side of being a chain is that there is more than one location that may have availability in certain flavors and more importantly, the consistency from a flavor standpoint. read more

My niece loves cupcakes and her birthday was coming up so we tried something new. When you walk in you see the case and what's available and I was happy to see mini cupcakes - hence allowing us to sample so we would know what to order for her birthday. We got red velvet, banana pudding, strawberry and sprinkles. The strawberry has to be flavored with red food coloring as my palette hates it and I immediately did not care for this cupcake. The others were okay. The show stopper was the raspberry cheesecake cupcake (which was delicious) and the lemon ice box cake. I don't know who the lady who was helping was, however I hate to say she wasn't much help. I asked questions about the cupcakes and her constant response was "I don't know" - I suggest that your employees taste the cupcakes to give suggestions and recommendations. We did come back and order cupcake for her birthday and sadly, they screwed up the order. They gave us chocolate cherry something or another. I was planning to stop by maybe Walmart or Kroger's for cupcakes for a friends birthday, and came across this location while I was ordering food at another establishment in the same shopping center. I paid $16 for 4 cup cakes ($4 each). A little pricey, but only because I'm knowing that I could have gone to Kroger's or Walmart and got like 12 cupcakes for under that price . But After sampling the ones I got minus one Of them that was boxed separately for my friends birthday. DO NOT order cakes from Gigi's Cup Cakes in Cedar Hill, TX.... They've not only ruin my friend 39th birthday but refuse to make it right! I ordered a 3 tier birthday cake this past Friday for $300. I went with 2 people to pickup the cake so they can sit in the back seat while the cake is kept secure completely flat in my SUV. I asked to see the cake before we leave the store to inspect the cake. I was told the cake is already boxed & wrapped therefore I can't inspect the cake. (I took pics of the cake on their counter though I couldn't see anything. We drove directly from Cedar Hill to the restaurant in Dallas where the birthday dinner was held. When we arrived I asked the restaurant for a flat cart to slide the cake onto to avoid any incidents with the cake. The moment we went into the restaurant I finally unwrapped the cake where I was completely split in half ‍ The bottom tier was separated from the top 2 layers of the cake where we could see the cake only had (1) stick holding it together. I immediately called the store & spoke with the young man who took my information & noted I called about the cake immediately. I didn't receive a call back neither on Saturday or Sunday. So finally on Monday I called again & asked to speak with the manager Brenell who I explained everything to & she asked if I have pics I shared both pics & videoes showing not only the cake but also that 1 stick holding the cake after she said it should be held up with about 6 sticks for a cake that size. She then said she will also talk with the baker & will call me back. That ever happened! Now it's Tuesday I'm calling back again certainly frustrated where she said she was at a conference & didn't have the time to follow up with me. Then turns around & offers me 1 dozen of free donuts. At this point I'm upset at the way this is being handled. It's insulting not to mention I drove from Frisco to purchase the cake from them because my friend likes their pastries so I wanted to supersede her & make her happy with more than a pastry from them on her bday & get her a beautiful cake. I told Brenell this is not the way you handle a situation like this. I've been kind & respectful throughout this entire ordeal her response was being the cake back (days later) from the restaurant that's the only way she would consider my refund or even a store credit. Wanted something sweet one day and I was in the neighborhood of GiGi's. I had never been here before and ended up buying a cheesecake and a lemon cake. Quite delicious I have to say. They have tables and chairs to accommodate people that want to take a seat and enjoy their sweets. The time that I visited- I saw that they had a tray that had several mini bites to sample- maybe. Please don't take my word on that because I'm not for sure. They had a good amount of flavors and several types of cheese cakes to choose from. The cupcakes that I did buy was moist and yup just the way I liked them. They run about $3 to $4 and change. I believe they sell larger cakes, regular and mini cupcakes, cookies, and icecream from my last visit that I saw. The store is in a shopping center and can be busy but worth it. I stopped by this place after work on day as I had noticed it was fairly new. I had these cupcakes before and liked them. The area this is located in is a busy area. There is parking available all around. When I walked in I was able to look at their display of cupcakes. I got a variety of 6 with flavors like turtle cake, red velvet, wedding cake, margarita (which I mistook for key lime lol), strawberry and lemon. Their presentation was nice as well. If you love sweets this is the place for you. I shared each cupcake with my husband on different days so that we could have a taste of each one. That was more than enough to satisfy that sweet tooth. So my daughter was graduating from school and they had cupcakes for everyone, they were big and very fancy looking. I was asked to hold what I now know was a strawberry one. Don't know why but I bit into it look so soft and pink (my favorite color) and it was soooooo delicious like biting into a cloud with its moist and flavorful cake.
