Last night, 3/14/24, we showed up at 9:40pm. When we walked in, there was a lady sitting on the counter watching a movie on her phone, and a man walking around talking on his phone. I walked up to the counter and they said "sorry. Closed" I said "the door says you close at 10" and they said "We start our cleaning at 9:30. We are closed." Wish I could give ZERO stars... I read the awful reviews before going, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought "There's no way that all of those are true!" I should've listened!! I grew up going here and have many family memories at Marble Slab in CH. I couldn't be more disappointed in the owners allowing this service. From the sound of it, it's time to close their doors. As a business owner myself, this service is absurd! Save yourself the inconvenience & don't go. Trust the reviews!!! read more

This used to be the ice cream place to come to, but it has gotten terrible in the last few years. I'm reminded of why I don't come to this location anymore every time I step inside. It is disgusting. The counters weren't wiped down. The TV's were off, so you couldn't see any options. They apparently don't make their own waffle cones and waffle bowls anymore. They're store bought. Our ice cream was practically melting by the time we sat down. Last, but definitely not least.. the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. They made it unisex, but the problem is that there wasn't any toilet paper in there and all that could be used was paper towels. Ew. Never will enter that establishment again. Yuck. read more

Their ice cream is fantastic! However, the times the restaurant is open need to be changed on the door because when we show up nobody's there. The door says they close at 10:00 and then they leave early! Like at 8:30! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Employees heard us walk in, but no one came to assist us. We could hear them in the back, and we waited 10 minutes for someone to come out. We left, and other customers waiting left also. read more

a week agoNEW Flavors were muted. Store was dirty. Cones were stale. Employees did not wear gloves or wash hands often. Toppings were not refrigerated. Tables were covered in chocolate. 3 employees and just my party, 2 adults 2 kids. I would understand if they were busy. read more

the ice cream is really good and the customer service was amazing and they listen to everything I said

They "never" got my order but when I showed up w my confirmation they said they never saw it come in and their freezer was broken. I placed my order a week ahead and I didn't not know this until a week later when I picked it up. Do not recommend this location. read more

this establishment is beyond filthy, as soon as I walked in, I went to the counter to get refunded for a cake I pre-ordered , a few days before. At first he refused to refund me and then after I said, I would not eat from this establishment because the city needs to come out he quickly refunded me. read more

Not a good experience at all. The store is drab. The workers were rude. I didn' t initially notice that we weren't greeted but, it didn't take long to notice how unfriendly they both were. There was no "thank you" or acknowledgment that we had just done business. The female was aggravated because we asked for additional napkins when she originally gave us one napkin each. Then, the add ins weren't fresh and what should have been cheesecake flavored ice cream taste like Greek yogurt. Just put a chain on the doors already. It's dead! read more

great service! loved the cheesecake ice cream! Atmosphere was very welcoming and clean.................

I've cream is great as usual, a super close second to Ben And Jerry's (USA's best ice cream)! The kids behind the counter were friendly, which is a plus, especially since service in Cedar Hill (EVERYWHERE) is sub-par at best! My only complaints are two. One flavor of ice cream appeared to have freezer burn. Additionally, it looks as if the ice cream freezers have not been defrosted in several weeks. It makes me wonder if they store the ice cream in the back freezer as they should each day. I certainly hope this is not corporate standard, but possibly just bad management at the store level. I certainly hope the health inspector wouldn't find this acceptable? I attached pictures so you can see what I was talking about. Great ice cream, friendly service, not so sure on corporate standards. read more

My cousin and I walked in and out yesterday. There was an odor that would make you think the establishment isn't clean. Very noticeable!

This is a small establishment with 4 tables and about 13 seats. Tables aren't always clean. They usually have a staff of 2 high schoolers who don't have the greatest social skills. They'll take your order and mix in your oreos or sprinkles but don't expect tip top service. Expect tasty ice cream. If you want great service go next door to bath and body works. Those ladies are so helpful and attentive! Sorry got side tracked. The ice cream is pretty good if you don't want something from the grocery store. They also male ice cream cakes but I can't say if those are good. I've never ordered one. This place is worth a visit. read more

Went to go get some ice cream and arrived at 9:30pm, the store had the hours posted as closing time-10pm on the door. When I arrived the employees were walking someone out of the building and they closed the door and locked it in my face. I knocked on the door and the employees just stared at me. Very weird encounter, I just wanted a scoop of ice cream... read more

Came to this location an hour before they close and about 80% of there ice creams were gone! Also they had very few toppings to choose from. There customer service could definitely be better!! read more

DISCLAIMER: I'm not one of those ice cream snobs who will fight with you about Marble Slab vs Cold Stone. It's all pretty much the same to me, if I'm going to be quite honest with you. Came here twice this past week. On one day, I needed to treat myself. The next day, my cousin needed to treat herself and her daughter. She's a 'Cold Stone' person, but wanted to give this place a try as nobody feels like driving up 75 North for ice cream during rush hour. (At least, I'm not The One for that.) Customer service here is pretty good. Employees aren't freakishly-smiley and happy-go-lucky; they're pretty chill and inexpressive, but they'll give you what you want. I admit I tend to be a bit of a chocoholic, so I'm sure asking for EVERY type of chocolate they had mixed into my ice cream made them want to hit ME with a marble slab, they were respectful and cool about the situation. Confections are clearly pricey ($6-$8, depending on what size you get), so this isn't something I would get every day, or even every week. Pace yourself. But when you want to treat yourself to something with the works, you can probably enjoy yourself here. Unless you're a Cold Stone snob. Then go to freakin' Cold Stone. Or try Paciugo at North Park Mall. read more

Your standard store in this chain. The Good: everything you'd come to expect from a standard marble slab. They got new concoctions rolling out regularly. Great for grab and go, not so much for sitting and enjoying out of the heat. There is also ample parking. The Bad: I am not a fan of the layout of this establishment. It's not a straight line from point a to point b of purchase--the register is in the far back of the store, you order in the middle, they make it in the front and the only place to sit down is where you're waiting for your order. read more

Walked in to have some ice cream and only two people in line. Not even a greeting from the guy working. Got tired of standing in line for any acknowledgment so ended up sitting down for 20 min until the guy working finished making two cones. I usually have had a good experience at places like this at other cities but really disappointed with the customer service when the place was obviously not busy. It might have just been an off day. The ice cream is good but I would work on taking care of the customers. I will try it again in the future to see if maybe it was just a bad day. read more

Stood at the counter waiting for young lady to get off her cell phone with her back to door forever. Finally had the genius idea to call the ice cream shop. Ring, ring, ring (you can guess, she just kept talking on her cell and totally disregarded the store phone). Waited a few more minutes and she finally turned around. An older man and woman came from the back, they never told her to get off the phone, never greeted us. Nothing. I was shocked, been coming here for years and it's never been this bad! WTH. We turned to leave since i'm not begging to buy ice cream. Finally girl gets off cell and walks to us and says to our backs, " I guess I don't have to help you". We ended up going next door to sprouts and buying ice cream there. We won't be back. I'm assuming the adults were the owners, which is shameful that they saw customers and just did not care enough to greet us read more

Its ok...the only neat thing about this place, is that they do a better presentation for their stuff. I had gotten a waffle cone with butter finger already on the top of the cone. For some reason the butter finger tasted like it was old, the cone itself had no flavor and was really disappointing because you can't make a waffle cone taste like a normal cone it has to be better! The ice cream felt like it was missing something maybe more sweetness? It was cool that instead of just serving you a scoop onto the cone, they first ask you if you want toppings on it. These toppings are mixed into the ice cream and then it goes on the cone. These toppings are "FREE" but you pay for them for the price you pay for the cone. Cones start at $5 and go up from there. Its weird how fast the ice cream melted as soon as i stepped out the door, it was only in the 70s outside. read more

Went in tonight for the last time. While waiting in line I either heard or asked point blank what they were out of, and was told they were out of at least three different flavors of ice cream, bananas, shake mix, and they were just able to go in the back and find pecans after running out of those (and running out of items is an experience I have had at more than one Marble Slab location). The two employees were wearing no gloves, checking people out and serving ice cream, and using their cell phones while attempting to reach a manager regarding a disgruntled customer. One even left the premises and came back in...and no, her hands were not washed. I have been to this location several times and each time the wait is longer and longer, they are out of more and more items, and the prices do not match the quality of service or customer interaction. It's a shame that the employees here are always teenagers who have been left without adequate supervision and evidently little to no training to do a better job. I will definitely not be back. read more

I like this place but there are times when they are out of the flavors of ice cream I like for a few days or they are out of the toppings I want. They also seem to have a high turnover rate for employees and I visit pretty often. read more

This is my 3rd time here because obviously the ice cream is good. This 3rd time I went though they were out of the first 3 ice cream flavors I was wanting and they were out of waffle bowls. Ok fine, I ended up getting praline in a regular waffle cone ....then the employee who got our ice cream did not look or act like she wanted to be there. After adding strawberries and coconut in my ice cream she brought my ice cream dripping everywhere in the cone, uughhh. Fyi: Tell your employees to smile every once in a while it's not going to kill them... read more

First time I've ever been to Marble Slab. Though it was an hour before closing time, all the toppings were packed up and on the back counter. I asked the man if they were about to close and he said no, he just likes to clean up early. I didn't order any topping because I truly felt we were bothering this guy. The ice cream was decent, nothing special. Kind of pricey. Service and atmosphere were poor. My daughter in law has been here a few times and said this same guy working is always rude. She thinks he is the owner. I'm in no hurry to go back here. read more

Surprisingly, the Cheesecake ice cream didn't taste anything like Cheesecake tonight. I should know since that's the only flavor I eat. When I asked for it to be remade the employee wearing scrubs spoke to me as if he was doing me a huge favor, then had the nerve to act like he thought I was trying to steal ice cream. SMH Do grown people even do that??? If the next closest Marble Slab wasn't so far away, I wouldn't come back to this location because when you pay $7.57 for a bowl of ice cream, then $1.43 for a tip, (add that up Mr. Scrubs $9.00) the "friendly" customer service should be $FREE. read more

Went in 1 hour before close. The employees were talking and not being helpful at all. There was no chocolate or vanilla or strawberry ice cream. Very little to choose from. They were also storing the ice cream that they themselves were eating, in with the ice cream they were supposed to be serving. I left and went to five guys across the street for a milkshake instead. read more

Never have anything prepared ahead of time to make the menu offerings unless you want a waffle cone. Second or third time I've gone in and they don't have the stuff to make a strawberry shortcake yet it's on the menu. They are always out of something. Service is definitely iffy, as well. read more

Love the ice cream it is great when you want something different. I would come back for the ice cream. Set up is awkward. Start in the middle, made up front, walk to the back to pay. How does someone not walk out with the finish product with out paying? Anyway, the inside store could be a little roomer and inviting on hot days that you would not want to sit outside just to enjoy your ice cream. This store could think about redesigning . read more

Over priced but good. No music so its super awkward, the person never used gloves, and there was bad customer service

Purchased Hot Fudge Sundae on today. The fudge had a chewy taffy texture which was unlike any Hot Fudge Sundae received anywhere . I called and spoke with Bernie to inquire if I return on another day with the Sundae I could not eat would they replace my order. Bernie went on to explain how Hot Fudge taste, I explained that I have been patronizing Marble Slab since the 1980's and this business since it opened and the Hot Fudge Sundae is what I order. I decided that I would not return or eat the Hot Fudge Taffy they are now serving at this location.......I have never had this happen at any business and at this time I will never purchase anything from this business. Horrible Customer Service received from Bernie who stated he was the owner. read more

This place is a good stop for classic ice cream. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, my favorite being cake batter. They have a variety of cones but at the end lf 2 waffle comes to 8-10 dollars which i feel is kind of pricey. However the mix in are unlimited so thats fun for some people. Despite its price I will would recommend stopping in if your looking for a cold treat. They have shakes, cakes and sundaes as well. read more
