I've been shopping at Giant in Leesburg for over a decade and have always appreciated the convenience and service--until a recent experience left me genuinely disappointed. I'm currently on crutches recovering from knee surgery and stopped in for a quick ice cream run. If you shop here regularly, you know they've closed off the second set of entrance doors--possibly for security reasons--but the result is limited nearby parking and increased difficulty for anyone with mobility challenges. Today I asked if I could use the closed doors to ease my access while on crutches and was told no, despite the fact that the doors are still functional. I understand policies are in place for a reason, but it was disheartening that no flexibility or compassion was offered under the circumstances. For a store I've supported for ten years, it felt like my accessibility needs weren't considered at all. I hope Giant re-evaluates its approach to accommodate customers going through temporary challenges. A little empathy can go a long way. read more

Parking was very convenient and when I entered the store, my first impression was it was clean and orderly. Prices were good and I was able to find everything I was looking for with relative ease. Fruit, bread and vegetables were fresh and well preserved. The meats looked very good and priced fair. I would definitely recommend this grocery store. read more

While traveling to visit my relatives in Purcellville this week we decided to stop by the Giant pharmacy and get our kids their COVID booster shots. When we approached the counter we were "greeted" by the lady behind the counter, Linda, who should NEVER be allowed to work around the general public. I own my own business and try to remember that the customer, who has the option to take their business elsewhere, should always be treated with respect. I do not ever plan on visiting this store ever again. Management should really look at who they choose to greet their customers before they lose them! read more

Your ONLY saving grace, is your proximity to my residence. Here's a tip...if you are going to have a sign on your door "mandating" masks, then enforce the mandate. If you aren't going to enforce the mandate, then take the sign down. You are trying to placate both sides, and it's sad. You want to give off a sense of security to those of us that want to shop where masks are mandated, but you also don't want to turn away those that refuse to wear them. Your "gesture" is hypocrisy at its finest, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. You can't have it both ways. You can't say one "must" wear a mask, and then when one refuses say, "that's ok, corporate says we can't make you." So...for the safety of my family, I choose to shop where masks are mandated...and enforced. Again, your proximity is the only thing you have going for you. Don't even get me started on the laziness of the staff. The other day the cashier and I bagged my $300 worth of groceries, while TWO gentlemen "watched." Prices are on par with other stores (when did the price of food increase so much) One the plus side they have a pretty good selection and likely have what you are looking for. The one star is for a young woman who answered the phone at customer service today. She was very nice and responsive when I called with an issue, but she was literally the only good part. I purchased a cup of their fresh cut fruit and after eating a layer of it, found a dark curly hair wrapped up in the rest of the fruit. I'm 5 months pregnant and almost puked in my car. When I called, the woman asked me to hold for her manager, and he never picked up. After a few minutes, she popped back on to say, "He didn't pick up, did he?" Nope. 15 minutes and not a word. Happened to be at this store (Giant Food Store, Potomac Station in Leesburg) on my way to West VA when I witness an incident at the Deli section. This woman needs to be terminated right away! while I am waiting to be service along with other customer. This lady was busy screaming with an elderly woman she works with and was threatening her. She was totally disrespectful. The old woman didn't say anything other than she tried her hardest to explain but she didn't care. Long story short. She was verbally abusive to her. She needs to be fired immediately! She was also very rude to us and was flying by ignoring us. Thought Giant is committed to providing an environment where everyone is respected. I hope that poor old woman in the Deli section will speak up to the hire chain of management not to some incompetent store manager and QUIT! she does not deserve to be treated in such hostility. I was carded here when I was without my Driver's License. I mailed it to the Social Security Administration as proof to get a replacement card. The manager at this store replied, "No, you didn't" to my explanation when his associate asked for an override. I was very shocked that a customer would be questioned and treated in this manner. I didn't mind getting turned down for the purchase, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. read more

Nice big store - but just needs some proper management. Very rare to find someone behind the customer service desk - you can hit the button and someone will eventually come. Seafood area should not stink like seafood. I understand a little odor, but not over the top like this place. Staff needs proper management - they should look presentable - not be rude, smell like smoke and have dirty finger nails when scanning your food. Store has potential as it is very large and has great deals. We save alot of money as compared to nearby competitors. read more

I was in this store today buying so many necessities prepping for the Coronavirus just in case because we have an 8 month old. I went to self check out because my Baby was super fussy and ready to be done. self check out can take a while sometimes but it seemed to be the fastest option for me. This gentlemen was super helpful bagged all of my stuff, helped me scan items that wouldn't work, during all of this my baby, Mason was screaming and I was starting to get super embarrassed and just so ready to leave. Finally everything was scanned and I was ready to pay and my card wouldn't authorize. Blah at this point everyone's watching me, looking at me and can hear my screaming baby. He was so helpful through my whole purchase even when I had to leave my cart full of groceries inside the store while I could go call my bank. I just moved a couple days ago from sterling to leesburg. So we of course had to go get a few things to put food in the cabinet, and in the fridge. And HOLY SHIT. it is WAY expensive, not to mention, they don't even have much variety of ANYTHING, and ALL THE fruits and veggies are NASTY. I couldn't find NOT ONE good green pepper or a purple onion which I really needed because they were all either rotting or damaged. It was DISGUSTING. how the fuck can you over charge for SHITTY products, and NOT even have any type of good variety. I will NEVER shop there again, and I will make sure I tell others to never shop there. I'll go once a week to safeway in sterling where things are MUCH cheaper and they have fruits and veggies that AREN'T disgusting. read more

The meat section was horrible. And I felt the prices were higher than the Giant down the street. Very disappointed.

Prices are high unless you get something on sale, but many times items on sale are out of stock. Bathrooms are filthy like a gas station. The workers are okay but move at a slow pace. I dont know how they do it, but many times the one item I really need is out of stock sale or no sale. I went there to buy taco seasoning and they were out. Went to buy some toasted cheeze its for my daughter and they were out of stock. Went to buy big shells to make stuffed shells and they were out. Many more examples of this. Beer and especially wine is expensive. Go to Total Wine or Wegmams for beer or wine. A few positives. Its rarely crowded. You can park close by and get in and out quickly. I have returned things for various reasons and they always easily accepted my return. They have some folks working there I believe that have intellectual disabilities which I think is good. The store and workers can not compare to Wegmans where customer service is the focus but they do try sometimes. read more

This Giant is stereotypical of the entire chain. It's relatively new, but no one in their right mind likes to work or shop there. Sometime it's a matter of necessity, to get something in particular and the location is very convenient. I'd much rather go to Wegmans, but getting in and out of the plaza is a pain and of course, Wegmans is always busy. Giant's prices are poor and often that one item you want is invariably out of stock. The location perennially seems to be dirty and the produce is always in limited supply or freshness. Every time I am forced to shop here, I'm disappointed. So in that respect, they're consistent. read more

This store is always neat and clean, has good variety and is easy to get in & out in a hurry! The employees are always very courteous and friendly - this has been our neighborhood store for 5 years and I love the local atmosphere. The pharmacy is lightning-fast and even does auto-refills and reminders. They have never been out of the medicine I need. Thanks guys! read more

While traveling on business, I began to feel ill. I went to a local urgent care and was given a prescription for antibiotics. Since Giant was right next to the urgent care I went there to get the med. Apparently I did not place my latest insurance card in my wallet and the pharmacy provider had changed. The pharmacist told me my coverage had expired. I told her I was sure I had coverage. The pharmacist went out of her way to call my insurance to try to verify my coverage. Unfortunately she was unable to verify coverage. She asked where I get my meds filled at home. When I told her CVS, she said that they probably had the proper insurance info on file and gave me directions to the closet CVS. She went out of her way to help me out. read more

My family normally buys groceries at wegmans but we didn't have much time so we decided to go to this giant. At first everything was fine. We got all our food and went to self checkout. The self checkout scanner wouldn't scan over & over again. so the self checkout assistant came to "assist" me. I told her i was having a hard time with it and asked if I could just go to the regular check out. I was very friendly, politely asking and she snaps at me saying she doesn't have to help me. I don't know if she took offense to me wanting to switch to regular check out or what. I'd never spoken to her or seen her before, so I was thrown back by how she acted as if she hated me. Anyways, she walked away, I finish up scanning, I pay and then I'm walking to the door and I hear two women cackling, I turn around and it is her and her coworker watching me walk away. At wegmans, there was a stink bug in one of my grocery bags and one of the employees literally came and got the stink bug and put it outside. They went the extra mile for me, even though they didn't have to. But at Giant, the employees get mad when you ask questions. I think it's clear where I'll be grocery shopping from now on. Also: wegmans is known for being a pricey store but with the $50 I spend at Giant I could have gotten twice as much at wegmans. I don't have a problem paying higher prices. However, I'm not going to go to giant and spend more just for attitude and a small selection. read more

Giants at potomac station is an o.k s store to shop at. Just don't come multiple times in a day or it will be a problem for the two managers in particular(Zack and Connie). I only came twice that day, I guess it was one too many because a comment was made with an attitude by Zack saying, "what is this your fifth time coming in here today"? I guess Connie agreed and thought it was so funny that she began to laugh. The joke was on me and that made me really uncomfortable. I have been shopping there for 13 years. Even with the Wegmans down the street I choose this Giant. The pharmacy is incredible and has helped me out over the years while I was raising a very sick child. The people speak to you and the staff is always courteous. I find everything I need and if there ever is a problem the return policy is great! read more
