a cake with a unicorn on it

Ordered a specialty cake for a 4 year old's birthday and was extremely upset when my sister picked it up and sent me the picture. I immediately called and cancelled the second cake I had ordered for pick up on New year's eve. Called to speak to the store manager and he huffed and puffed as if he was bothered. I'll be taking the cake back this evening and won't be returning.

I love a good salad bar! Since there is no salad-centric restaurant anywhere close, the salad bar at Giant Eagle is next to par. I don't ever shop here (the prices are much higher than Kroger), thus anytime I'm Checking In, it's do to a decent appetite for veggies! The bar offers three types of lettuce: Spinach, romain and regular ice burg. The toppings vary depending on time of day I get there, and what the store has in the back to offer. The fruit at the end of the bar is a hit or miss, some days it's wiped clean dry by the time I make it in. Other days, a decent assortment of ripe watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew melon are my personal favs.

Amazing remodel of the Giant Eagle off of 256! The deli is fantastic and the new soap bar is really cool.

If they identified the products in each aisle a little better, it would help. The 10 or so cashiers we've met are pleasant and efficient. Most everyone else in the store is short (in their demeanor) and extremely dismissive. There's sometimes nice deals, but usually involves buying 6 or 10 to get the discount. We've always noticed an odd odor about half way through our shopping. I don't think anything is wrong, just annoying. On our last trip, they high pressured us into self-checkout offering us $10 off our order to use a new system that scans the product as you place it in a cart. It has some scary computer to scan cards and do everything short of finding Hoffa. Get back to old fashioned quality customer service, Kroger! This company is becoming so impersonal, I believe we WON'T becoming back here. 06/24

They really overdid it with this store. It's massive, one of the biggest I've ever seen. It's drop dead gorgeous, too. Very clean. It looks like they have every product in the world in there. Once in a while you'll find a bare shelf, but they generally work quickly to fill those gaps. I don't recommend produce from here. Too many instances where it starts to turn after only a day at the house. Watch the scanner when ringing up your goods. I resorted to taking a photo of every price of every item I purchase. Even a few discrepancies is too many. I've also noticed a type of bait and switch by where a larger size package of the same product sits behind a sale sign advertising the smaller version. What then happens is you take the larger, more expensive item to check-out thinking you have the item that's on sale. End result? They push more of the larger size since they probably ran out of the stuff that's on sale. I watch to make sure it's not the other way around. That would be criminal and illegal. So far, I have NOT seen this. Just be vigilant while you enjoy this beautiful shopping experience. 06/24

I was not familiar with Bexley Natural Market but saw from the Too Good Eats website that the market carried them so off I went exploring. Parkign lot is limited and that area of Cassady Avenue was a little busy but I was able to get in and out ok and find a spot to park. The staff interaction was ok but REALLY missed an opportunity to sell the market and what they are about. I had asked about the membership and the bland explanations really didn't say much at all and the interaction was not very inviting and kind of dismissive. I would have been happy that some new traffic came in and showed an interest. Anyway, the market offers all kinds of items from produce, vegan options, natural drinks, and grocery items. It appears the main focus is supporting local farmers and vendors in the area. I will come back and take another look around but was super happy they had the drinks I liked. If interested- I found online that the membersip is $30 one-time payment and annual dues of $45 that provides 5% to 8% off and monthly coupons & promotions valued at $100 a year in savings. They also offer member-only events and activities. I found out more about the store from their website, if interested, you can check them out at www.bexleynatrualmarket.org.

I am Disappointed. Hatred, Blatant Racism, and Unconscious Bias that equate to racism are all…read morewrong. My husband and I just picked up our dinner from a local restaurant near this store. As we walked up the stairs, we exchanged greetings with another shopper (a white female). When we reached the top of the stairs, we turned left towards the bar/liquor store. A white woman who worked there was sitting at the bar reading a newspaper. She looked up over her glasses and, in a very abrupt and accusatory tone, said, "CAN I HELP YOU?" My husband instantly turned around and walked away in disappointment. I responded, "Hello, we're just looking," and followed him. While in the adjacent wine section, I told my husband, "She was kind of rude." He replied, "That's exactly why I walked away. We'll get some wine and pay downstairs." Now, stay with me for a moment. The area was well-lit, and there was a glass divider separating the two rooms. While I was considering my options for a red blend near the back wall my husband looked at the white wines. In a more welcoming tone, the same woman who had been sitting at the bar addressed another shopper (a white male) in a very welcoming and charismatic voice, saying, "Hi, how are you? What can I help you with?" as she walked over to him with a smile. I instantly recognized the difference in her demeanor. Even my husband noted, "She didn't talk to us like that." We then proceeded downstairs to the customer service desk. My husband felt I shouldn't share my concerns because this behavior happens daily, and he believed nothing would change. However, I decided to speak with the manager, Sabrina, who kindly listened to my experience. Sabrina responded by saying "Well, I've never had anyone else complain about her as an associate and repeated it to me twice before saying, but I'll look at it." That was not the response I was hoping for; an apology would have been welcomed. However, I honestly do not know what I expected. I do not want the associate to lose her job or anything crazy, but her attitude toward us was crazy and offensive. Should she be educated? Yes, absolutely. Had the roles been reversed, I would have likely been fired, handcuffed by an all-white group of Bexley Police officers, and charged with assault and misconduct of some magnitude. Or I could have reacted in the same way as the associate, inappropriate, disrespectful, and racist, and I still would have been arrested in the same manner mentioned above. I'm so sick and tired of the racism and hostility. My husband and I are educated, working-class humans who respect others and deserve to be treated equally, just like every other customer, no matter what we look like or how we identify. We may be only two of many shoppers, but I will not be returning to the store at all. I am disappointed. Hatred, blatant racism, and unconscious bias that equates to racism are all wrong.
