This is a long overdue review for Ghost Note Coffee, located between the Pike/Pine/Olive corridor along Bellevue on Capitol Hill. Note: not to be confused with Ghost Alley Espresso at Pike Place Market. Visit #1 on 10/17/18 Much needed mocha and a quiet respite to write. Beautiful mug. The MKE Yelper was happy chatting with the barista. Visit #2 on 12/17/19 Pretty much experienced slow service and ignored by the hipster baristas who preferred talking with their regulars or friends. Really left a lasting negative impression, that I never stopped in throughout 2020. Visit #3 on 2/27/21 Stopped in after being in the CD and heading to the UDistrict, no issue with street parking. I used my 25% Yelp check-in discount for a 12 oz mocha. No indoor, sit down allowed, just takeout. Nice baristas. Lovely coffee art admired before I placed a lid on it. Snagged a tasty sip, but handed it off to The Homie. Glad they soldier on during pandemic. read more

I'm always looking for coffee when I'm in a new city so I'm very glad to have stopped by at Ghost note. The barista was super nice and the service was quick. A lot of folks here were studying/chilling so it's a much more quiet cafe vibe. I loved the latte, it was so creamy and delicious. Wish I could come back but im not from Seattle so it might take a while for us to meet again! Either way, definitely check it out if you are ever in the area looking for a good coffee spot. read more

After I was done with my chiropractic appointment in the Capitol Hill area, I stopped in for my tattoo appointment, which was conveniently right next-door, but by this point I needed a pick me up and my tattoo artist referred me to this place and she did not miss the service was amazing. Cute cafe nestled within Capitol Hill--get the Lush Life latte special! A "cold drink with espresso, almond milk, orange blossom honey & grapefruit aromatics"--it comes with beautiful adornments and its so smooth and fragrant. I was skeptical the citrus notes would be off-putting, but they complement the drink quite well. The actual cafe is on the smaller side, with quick wifi, and outlets against the wall. They also sell jugs of their drinks and assorted coffee items in the front of their shop. A lovely, quirky, and creative coffee shop that I would come back to try their other drinks. read more

Cute little cafe in the middle of capitol hill! One thing that stood out when I went in was the display of various drinks available for purchase (pre-made mocha, lattes, with and without oat milk, or just oak milk itself). If I lived closer, I would definitely take advantage of this. The coffee itself was really good! It was sweet and strong at the same time so really perfect for a Sunday morning. What also stood out was all the flavored specials they have and the cocktails, when I come back, I will definitely have to try their more signature drinks! read more

A nice place to study/do work while sipping on coffee/tea and appreciated the friendly staff. I ordered jasmine silver tip tea, which was aromatic and refreshing as a complement to the slice of pistachio rose cake. The crumble garnishes on top and pillowy soft interior was delicious and the sweetness level was perfect. The owner is super nice and makes the place warm. Their cold brew is the best in the city! They make it right in front of you.

Chill joint with some great coffee and creations. Almost feels like a bar, owner uses a cocktail shaker for some really interesting custom drinks. Lush life was really fragrant and interesting while preserving the taste of espresso! Maybe its a hot take but i think the smell outweighs taste, not sure i could taste too much of the amazing descriptors in the coffee. The cups they use are beautiful!! ~7 for specialty drinks, ~$5 for traditional coffee drinks. Vax card needed to use the bathroom. read more

This is quite a unique coffee shop with interesting cocktail-style drinks. I got the Lush Life, which had a nice blend of espresso and citrus flavors. A bit on the pricier side, over $6 for one drink (after tax), but not too bad for a handcrafted, shaken drink. Finally got to pay this place a visit had been on my bucketlist of coffeeshops to check out in town since a friend at work told me a put them and shared the specials menu with me. Had to come up the hill to pick up something early last Thursday and realized it was only a block away from where I was. I arranged to meet a friend from work there and then we would walk to the lightrail to go into work. I wanted to have my coffee for there cause I'm a sucker for cool mugs or cups. I knew they served their beverages in Yutang ceramics. I had the Oatnog so delicious and since it was already made with a milk substitute I didn't have to ask for one. Another bonus is they serve Salmonberry Goods treats I'm a big fan of what Salmonberry does. Had a slice of their crab raspberry bread the tartness balanced perfectly. I love love love this place but it is just far too expensive to come here regularly. The baristas here are the friendliest people I have met in Seattle (a huge plus in a sometimes frigid Capitol Hill) and they have so many cool special drinks like the Lush Life (almond milk latte with orange, honey, grapefruit) and Sun Ship (espresso with grapefruit, coconut water, lime). Just by reading the ingredients list of those drinks, the high price tag seems more worth it (and they are very tasty). But with tax and tip (which is automatically included), you are easily pushing $8 or $9 for those specialty drinks. My one other complaint is that I wish they had more food options. I know not every coffee shop will have food, but I like to have savory options for breakfast and didn't see any such options here (mostly scones and pastries). I've seen other coffee shops will often have breakfast sandwiches shipped in from Alki Bakery, that alone would go a long way for me. read more

Very rich and aromatic , absolute delight for this seattle rainy day. I had Nefertiti with spiced orange , felt it has got good hint of coconut flavor and noticeable orange flavor just like I expected, a must try. I'm here to talk about the amazing Lush Life latte! Probably my favorite cup of coffee while sipping my way through Seattle. Once in a while you get a specialty latte that tastes like it belongs in an artisanal speakeasy and Lush Life was it. One sip and it felt like it needed belong in Death & Co's titular book. I was surprised to see that it was supposed to be iced only - it was kind of chilly so my feedback would be to ask the owner to allow hot versions of the drink. I was drawn to this spot by the frilly, fancy &/or novelty drink options with an arsenal of bitters and house-made flavorings; I don't normally go after that stuff but it sounded interesting. Coffee has been hit-or-miss for my personal taste, I think. I'll have to go back and seek out the dark roast options but most drinks I've tried were too medium-bright for me. They have a cozy selection of Salmonberry pastries with average 1-2 typical vegan ones it seems which are ok to me for a fix. The café is fairly simple, spacious and clean with some neat personal touches, such as the charming menu penmanship. And the staff is friendly, welcoming & helpful. I've been meaning to leave them a positive review because they truly deserve all the praise. I truly believe Ghost Note makes the best coffee in Seattle. Every time I've been here the workers have been so kind and craft the most delicious coffee beverages. It's also very clean and I love the atmosphere. I love how they use bitters to naturally flavor the coffee without taking the coffee flavor away if that makes sense. I've been here for both hot coffee and iced coffee seasons. I think my favorite is their iced mocha shake with malt. The orange peel added is just divine. I try to recreate it at home but it's not quite the same. Ghost Note is a true gem! read more

So I walked 20 mins in Seattle's rainy weather to enjoy the coffee here as I saw on Yelp that they make their drinks like cocktails so I was extremely excited but when I got there they said they don't do indoor seating which was such a bummer because the last thing I wanted was to go back out in the rain/cold with my coffee. Wow. I was in search of really good coffee in Seattle and I've tried a few good places however Ghost Note Coffee blew my mind. I'm pretty bummed I had it on the last day but that was the icing on the cake for me. The location is great. The shop is in Capitol Hill so it's in a trendy, hip area. The decor was simple, rustic and had its own personal flair. The coffee was out of this world. It was phenomenal. The amount of thought put behind each specially crafted drink is superb. It's essentially a coffee cocktail. I got the Lush Life and I didn't want it to end. The only thing I would complain about is I wish I had more. read more
