    chili chicken paratha
    Nazia C.

I stopped in to get some chicken biryani for my daughter. Since I was here anyway, I ordered myself the chili chicken paratha and a chopped cheese for my husband from the new items menu. The chopped cheese is not a traditional sandwich but I found it tasty. The chili chicken paratha hits every time. This time it was especially spicy!

This is supposed to be frontier beef. $12. Came with nothing but 4oz of dry beef. Terrible.

The wife and I ordered this for takeout, as the last time we went to the actual restaurant inside it was delicious and well worth the money. They obviously tried to take advantage of us with this delivery order. This cost over $37, and is barely enough to feed the two of us after a long day of work. It came with no onions, a limited amount of sauce, and the frontier beef was just 4 ounces of dry crap. Do not order takeout from this place, they obviously take advantage of people.

This is the fifth location in the Chicago area (see review I did for the Lincoln Park location). I had their fries. The service is superb.

Do not order the Chana masala. They use canned chickpeas to make it and not fresh chickpeas. You can tell it came straight out of the can.

We had a very hard decisions to make deciding what to get. I don't know what it was called, but we got something that looked like a strawberry Napoleon. I couldn't have any because of an allergy, but my wife loved it. Their coffee bar is also impressive. My wife had a latte and I had a mint tea. They make an elaborate latte. I was a little disappointed that the tea, which was not inexpensive, was made with a tea bag and not tea leaves. But it was good, so no real problem there. There was a short line to order at the counter, but it moved quickly. The people behind the counter were pleasant and seem to enjoy talking with their customers. All in all, the Thousand Tales coffee shop rates up there with the best.

The pistachio crumble latte is still one of my favorites -- creamy, flavorful, and comforting. If you prefer stronger coffee, I'd definitely recommend adding an extra shot. The pogacha with beef and the burek were both delicious, rich, and full of flavor. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious -- just as good as I remembered. I was a little disappointed with the Dubai chocolate cheesecake this time though. It didn't even look the same as before, and the pistachio paste tasted less natural than I remembered. The service was good, everyone was friendly, and I'll definitely come back again.

I was a quite disappointed because we went on Saturday at 6:30pm and they were completely out of all pide, ezme, haydari, and the pickles so the menu was pretty limited. We ended up ordering fries as an appetizer since that's all they had. The entrees also said they come with bulgar and rice but we did not have any bulgar on our dish..it also said we should have roasted peppers and onions, which were not on our dish either. I assume they were out of all of those? We really wanted hummus but it was not on the menu. When we finished our meal, we noticed the table behind us had hummus... it would have been nice to know they had hummus. Also, we really wanted to try the manti but did not see it on the menu. At the end of the meal, my husband wanted a coffee and the waitress said there was no coffee and the machine was broke. Service was ok. Waitress forgot our drink. Not very attentive. Dining area is small but cute. They are planning to expand the dining area so there really isn't much of a market anymore. Prices are pretty high in comparison to most Turkish/middle eastern restaurants. They do give you yummy bread and Babaganoush. I want to try it again in hopes that other menu items are available.

You can tell he genuinely cares about the restaurant and about making sure guests have a great experience. The restaurant itself is very spacious and extremely clean, with plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal without feeling crowded. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, but I have to mention it was 8pm when we went. Now for the food it was absolutely delicious. The chicken kabob was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor. It was perfectly grilled and seasoned just right, the kind of dish where every bite is better than the last. You could really taste how fresh everything was. My four year old loved the chicken and the rice was delicious. We also ordered the combination plate, which was fantastic. It came with a great variety of Mediterranean Dave's including the best falafel I have had, seasoned chicken, fresh rice, and all the classic sides that complement the dish so well. It's a great option if you want to try a little bit of everything, and everything on the plate was flavorful and well prepared. What really stood out to me though was the hospitality. The owner's kindness and welcoming attitude made the whole experience feel personal, not just like another quick meal out. Between the delicious food, the warm service, and the clean, comfortable space, this place really deserves the 5 stars. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend Sultan's if you're in the area! PS the Baklava was the best Baklava ever. We got the original pistachio! It's a must!

The food was quite tasty, from the flavorful rice to the spicy meats. They only have beef and chicken, some lamb would have been great. The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.
