What a beautiful and well-maintained campground! We decided to stay here on our trip south, and we're so glad we did. The staff was incredibly friendly, our RV site was spacious and well kept, and it easily accommodated our 44' rig with plenty of extra room. Our neighbors were welcoming as well, and we really enjoyed walking around the property and seeing the animals. The only thing we wished for was for the pool to be open, but we understand that can be hit or miss this time of year. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! read more

When I arrived I didn't understand my site. My rig is 22' but the site I have is huge. I don't know if I'm supposed to park horizontal or vertical or even which way I am supposed to face.Most sites have gravel. Mine is mostly mud and totally unlevel. The campground has many empty spots that would be more suitable. I called them to ask for help and Chris the manager came. He did not help me with the spot. Instead he told me my rig was against the law because it wasn't Rvia certified. He threatened to kick me out five times but wouldn't right now. He asked me how much I paid for my membership which is none of his business. I have a higher tier membership but regardless he informed me that thousand trails doesn't like to sell to people like me when we were discussing full time RVers. The final time he threatened me I said if you are going to kick me out then do it but you better kick everyone else out who isn't RVIA certified. Again he said he wouldn't right now and that he just wanted to educate me on the fact I was breaking the law. He noticed another van near me and told me to come with him while he checked her. I refused but later spoke with her and she was in tears when he got done with her. After he left I looked at my membership and not being certified isn't against the law. It is recommended but not required. Chris also informed me not to go to any other thousand trail park in PA because they wouldn't let me in. I don't know if that's true but something to keep in mind. I reached out to thousand trails about the situation and wanting to know if the managers were trained to treat "members like me" that are full time this way but it's been several days and they have not responded. In some of the other reviews I saw that 10 years ago the bathhouse was under construction in the no septic hook up area. It is still closed due to construction in 2026. Of all the TT I have been to this has been by far the worst experience. Chris even mentioned that his wife wouldn't even camp at a place like this because she prefers nicer ones. Terrible! Absolutely not recommend!! The grounds look amazing however when we arrived "late" past 7 pm and they would not let us to our campsite. They insisted we park in a parking lot (no electricity and no water) until 7 am (in summer heat and humidity!). And we could "move" into our reserved spot in the morning . We had been traveling for over 8 hours, ran into traffic and were late. Absolutely no flexibility at all. They take your money and not give you your rv spot. The staff was not friendly or helpful and there were 2 or 3 of them all smoking around the entry gate and were blowing cigarette smoke directly into our vehicle. We were left in a bad situation and had to leave and find accommodations elsewhere. They also refused to refund us and told us we had to "talk to corporate ". Absolute shame because that place has so much potential! Do not stay there if you want your sanity! read more

My parents joined Outdoor World in 1990, it has since been acquired by Thousand Trails. This place has gone down hill! We generally rented cabins, so we can't speak to rv/tent accommodations. The newer cabins are decent. We had 3 cabins on this trip. One of them was terrible, one was decent and one was a newer one and it good shape. All of them needed a good deep cleaning. In the worst one there were holes in the walls, mismatched appliances that were yellowed and a wall fixture falling out of the wall, to name a few things. In the decent one the shower faucet was falling out of the wall. When Outdoor World owned this place the accommodations were better kept. They also had better furniture. Two of the cabins only had futons in the living area. They used to have a pullout couch and arm chairs. Maybe someone had a sale on college dorm room futons and they scooped them up?!?! The Wi-Fi was terrible and if you have Verizon, be prepared for limited service. The landscaping and cleanliness of the resort properties were pretty good. Although they needed to use some roundup around the cabin and campsites. Maybe do a better job of insect control as well. As you can see in the photos, a hornet's nest of that size doesn't happen overnight. Staff is okay, generally friendly, but spends lots of time gossiping and not paying attention to guests. The trading post is overpriced, so best to go to Wei's or Walmart for supplies. We've seriously considered ending our membership because many of the properties are trashy. read more

We are new members of thousands trails and are camping using our membership. This stop was fantastic! It's a working farm and you have a choice to be a little remote within the grounds or in the main campground. Everyone we came across were super friendly and if course there's lots to do in the area. You can wander the "farm" and they allow you to feed the animals with feed provided. Would definitely stop again. read more

This by far is one of the nicest camp ground I have been to in a while . From the time we pulled in to the park the people at the ranger station were nice and super helpful. The camp ground was just what it said a farm with all the animals including the roaming roosters and their girls. I have a 38 foot coach and getting to my site and in and out of it was a dream . The site was spacious and clean when we arrived . Gettysburg is one of my favorite places to go and take in the history I will definitely be staying at this campground every time I visit. read more

Spent a week here just recently. For those who posted about the fee for the wifi. The Wifi is now free at the rec hall and game room. Pokemon go players are not forgotten here with 4 poke stops and 2 gyms all at the Rec Hall / sports court and playground area The creek side sites become swamps in heave rain. Luckily we had none but they were still flooded when we checked out the camp sites a few weeks in advance. Full hook up sites are no longer first come first serve. This is the only Thousand trails that I know of that does this. No drinking fountains. I have never seen a campground that did not have a drinking fountain. This includes state / county parks. The pool area is exposed to the sun all day with only 4 or 5 tables with umbrellas. The pool side concrete can gets so hot you can cook the skin off your feet. This is not a issue at other pools I have visited with exposed concrete not conducting anywhere near as much heat as this one does. Deep end of the pool does not show correct depth labeled as 5 feet deep when is actually 6 feet in depth with 5 feet being at the very edge only. Drains at the deep end also have strange humps on them that feel like your are standing on Lego bricks when you put your feet down. The walking trail is just around the campground on the roads. The only off road section goes through a corn field. The only thin I disliked about this trail was the huge garbage dump along the side of it at one point. And the no trespassing sign I found laying face down along the trail side and just looked like another piece of trash. So the dump are a was not even legally posted. People can enter and the legal actions posted on the sign cannot be enforced. 2 14 cent bolts should have been used to hold the sign to the pole and not just duct tape. Or even better The parks "TRASH" should not be dumped on the "WALKING TRAIL" Not enough trash / recycling cans. they are all taped up and signs stating not to add for 2 full days before they are emptied. Just adding 1 additional trash pickup day will solve this. Bathhouse up on the hill from creek side men's room is missing a toilet with the pipe leading to the septic system open to the air then duct tape was added to stop smell. Small panel on the wall with exposed wiring. BUT The complete building is scheduled to be completely replaced for the 2020 season. read more

We LOVED this campground and wish we could have stayed longer! All the farm animals there make for such a neat and unique experience. My kids loved it. Plus there are a few great playgrounds, mini golf and many more activities. Our spot was large and our stay was quiet and peaceful. We were across from a few tiny homes, and the people were really friendly and helpful. We hope to be back again! read more

I read the other reviews and was a little Leary about this place. It was a nice atmosphere with the farm animals and my kids liked that but that was about it. You have to ride around and find your spot then come back to the guard shack and tell them where you have picked. Which can be good or bad but we have 33 ft trailer with 3 slides and not all the sites are that big. So this makes me nervous if we would come back. They are also as others mentioned "on top of each other". We we're lucky enough to get a creek site and pull in long ways but that only left us about 20 ft from our door to the creek. The playgrounds and mini golf are pretty bad. If they just dedicated one day a week to maintain those areas it would make a huge difference. I did like that this is a farm and they have fresh produce from the garden available in the store. The only difference between the "petting zoo" and any other time of day is that you don't have to pay for feed ($1 for a bag). The goats and other animals are allowed to roam free and if you have a bag of food they will follow you everywhere. All together it was a good experience but I would be nervous to go back in case we would not find a big enough spot. read more

2nd trip in our camper for the year, 1st Thousand Trails experience. Had to hunt down a site amongst all the permanent campers. Ours had a deep hole by the electric, our fire pit and grill were not cleaned out. I just read a previous review from September of last year where this campground was rated one star based on several things my husband and I found not to be true for our stay seven months later. Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of big RV parks where everyone is on top of everyone else. I've found our one year free membership in the Thousand Trails system to be filled with RV parks like this where you feel like an outsider because you pull in and see fairly permanent decks, sheds, etc. around every RV. What most of the Northeast Thousand Trails campgrounds really are, are seasonal vacation homes for people. Gettysburg Farms isn't quite like that. When we first pulled in, it literally looked like a farm, complete with barn, llama pasture, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. They have farm equipment on display both inside and outside. Their general store/trading post/registration area is neat and clean and they even have scoop ice cream. Prices are reasonable. The women who were working when we checked in were nice and friendly and told us we could pick any spot and then come back to say where we decided to set up. I LOVE that, because then we can pick something waaaay out of the way. The areas with the heavy duty full hook-ups were already quite full with the giant RVs that looked like they are semi-permanent residents. We drove through there, but didn't want to be on top of others. We looped around towards the Conewago Creek (which runs at the edge of the property) and found tons of empty sites, presumably because they only offered general electric (not enough amps for the big rigs) and water hook-up. We only stayed for four nights so we didn't care about the sewer hook-up, but they also offered to come pump us out if we gave them a day's notice. The creek was beautiful and quiet, there were no kids at this end (because all of the activities like mini-golf, playground, etc. were at the big RV end), and only one other camper was nearby. These sites were small, but we have a tiny r-Pod so it was perfect. We set up with the creek at our front door. As soon as we hooked the water up, we began to have trouble. Being new RV-ers, we hadn't winterized totally correctly and had sprung a leak because the valve assembly on our toilet had cracked. At first, we weren't too concerned because it was a small leak...minuscule...but after twenty-four hours, our grey water tank had filled completely up (we hadn't taken any showers) and we had to cease everything in order to fix it. My husband went to the office and one of the handymen let him borrow a wrench (ours didn't fit behind the tiny toilet) but it didn't work. We found an RV place that had the parts we needed so on our way out to pick them up, I stopped at the front office to tell them our problem and ask if there was any way we could get the grey water pumped out that day. The woman was soooo nice and said absolutely, it's an emergency. By the time we got back with the part, they had already pumped us out and after fixing the part (check my review for Harbolds RV), we were back in business, crisis averted. The people here have been wonderful, the view and privacy spectacular (we came during the week in late April), and I would definitely come back. The only thing I saw that kept this from a five star review was the bath house closest to us was closed the entire week we were there for repairs and the other one was not exactly pristine, but hey! If you're here, YOU'RE CAMPING. Be glad they had a running shower! (Our shower is EXTREMELY tiny and I prefer to shower in a campground bath house because I'm 5'10".) Also, even though it's called Gettysburg Farms, it's actually about half an hour from Gettysburg, so keep that in mind if you're heading to the battlefield like we did. (Not bad...most of the trip is via a major highway.) There were fish literally jumping out of the creek directly in front of our camper and we loved the rustic quality of the place. People are complaining about paying for Wi-Fi....YOU'RE CAMPING!!!! Seriously?? read more

This is a nice campground. Very family oriented with lots of kid activities. It's a real working farm and it's great to visit in the spring to see the baby animals. Goats, bunnies, ducks, cow, llamas, donkeys, pigs, peacock, turkeys, alpaca, ...you name it. Petting zoo, hayrides. We found it more economical to buy a Thousand Trails membership because we enjoy taking the grandkids here often. The staff is super helpful, in fact I've not met any staff who was less than extremely friendly. I would rate it a five but the row of seasonals along the creek can be rowdy on the weekends but as long as you pick a site away from the creek, you'll enjoy this campground fully. read more

So, I'd like to start off by saying no one can control the weather. With that being said, there's no excuse for poor planning and infrastructure. We came here for our first time this weekend. It poured as we arrived. We have a 32' class c motorhome and towing a Fiat 500L. The man at the gate said there were no open sites at the full hookup area and we had to go to the lower road by the creek. He did say to stay on the upper level because the mud was horrendous. He wasn't kidding. We went to the upper road and parked for the night. It poured. All night. Lol. In the morning we saw a site opened up in the better section. We asked to move and were told there wasn't any spaces available. BS. After 30 mins of trying to get out of our muddy mess, we asked the tractor to pull us out. The guy was very nice and came quickly. We went to the other site and at least was out of the mud. They pulled many many campers out this weekend with their tractor. However even in the higher sites with 3 hookups, the poor drainage couldn't be escaped. At least we had some stones for the Rv to sit on. The water puddled everywhere. Even walking the dog was an exercise in puddle jumping. A man with a permanent cabin there stopped and asked how we were enjoying the park. He even said when it rains he doesn't usually come. Overall a nice park, weather permitting. Lol. read more

Absolutely disappointed with this campground. For this being a Thousand Trails Campground, I would not be happy if I had to pay the actual Thousand Trail membership fee to camp at a place like this. The only thing the campground had going for itself was the land and the location. Pulling in, we had been very impressed with the farm motif and nice swing set. But When we first checked in, the girls were very disorganized, however friendly. There were no lights lighting the way for those who had joined us late at night and trying to set up in the dark. Very few bath houses for a campground that did not have many full site hook ups. In fact, Bathrooms were closed most of the weekend due to septic issues. A staffer had come around on Sunday to ask if we had needed our gray water emptied. However, When we went to the front desk to follow through, the lady had been nasty and said we had to preregister the day before. When it came time to find a staff personal, you couldn't easily identify who they were, which makes it extremely difficult when trying to find an answer. Fire rings were basically nothing- two inches high if that! We had to ask for a picnic table and when we finally received one, it was held together by duct tape. Very disappointed in having to pay $5.99 a day for wifi for it to not even reach our camp site. The pool was great considering the rest of the campground was decrepit; would have preferred to have seen a life guard on duty. The plumbing in the shower house was horrible- I had to stand in ankle deep water as I showered. The potential was there to make it a great weekend and camping experience, however, many improvements need to be made before we ever consider attending again. read more

My fiancé and I bought a brand new 2021 Apex in February from Keystone RV and it came with 30 free days camping with Thousand Trails. We were super excited when everything started opening back up from the pandemic. We had booked a spot online for Gettysburg Farm Campground and only water/electric was available. We were completely fine with that since we do a lot of primitive camping anyways. Friday, June 12th we headed out after work with our 10 year old daughter who was BEYOND excited to go camping and see animals. We drove 2 hours to Gettysburg Farm. Once we got there the lady at the check in asked our name and gave us a packet and told us to just go pick a site in the water/electric area then call her and let her know what site number we chose. We go back to where we were instructed to choose a site and notice that MANY sites have black garbage bags around the electric pole where they are down. We then chose, what looked to be a semi decent spot even though the water/electric hookup would be on the front of the camper, only to realize that our very small slide out would be in the middle of the road. So we moved on to see what other site we could find... half of the sites were broken and the other half that was open either looked like a mudpit from the rain or were nothing but a downhill slope. We drove around for 15 minutes then said screw it and decided to leave. This absolutely broke our daughters heart after she was so excited but there was nothing else for us to do. When we went to leave the lady at the check in acted like she didn't even remember us just coming in 15 minutes prior to this and when my fiancé told her about the sites all she had to say was 'Wow, we haven't gotten any rain. There are plenty of sites down there.' When in reality there wasn't. She asked the last name 4 times throughout the conversation and took the packet back and we left. This was the WORST campground we have ever been to and we have been camping for a long time. We traveled 2 hours to not be able to camp there and NO ONE offered and apology or anything. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! If I could give a negative star rating I would! read more

Crummy place for $50! A hotel is twice that (and has a better shower/bathroom) and a state park is half that (and has a better shower too)! Don't know what my payment goes toward - certainly not to facility upkeep (which is most important to me). I can find nice views and ice cream elsewhere. Will NOT be back. read more

Nice entrance and plenty of farm animals. First time I have every had to give up my drivers license until I picked out a site. Had to return to office, report the site number, then license was returned. We were in a fifth wheel and had a good spot on the back side. A lot of permanents all around us. Refused to pay extra $6 a day for WIFI. Overall - disappointed. We were visiting the area during the day, so we were away from the park most of the day. My next visit to PA, we will stay somewhere else. read more
