The people running the program are pretty friendly, knowledgable and entrepreneurial minded…read more However, I went to the week-long training class and I was kind of disappointed. They advertised this program as a program that helps you land the job you want, however it just turned out to be another generic job-readiness program that just puts you in whatever job they have available rather than what career you want and what your background is actually is. With the high-energy entrepreneurial people running the program, you would think they would have stronger career advice to give and be able to help you with a more individualized approach, but unfortunately they do not. The training class was pretty fun and engaging for the most part, and the teacher Cedric was a great speaker. However, what I had an issue with was how a huge percentage of the class was spent training us on warehouse safety and how to use a forklift. I'm sure that's great for people who actually want to work in a warehouse, but for everyone else it's a waste of time (so my recommendation is for them to hold the forklift training during a different time for the people who want it). I know for a fact that I'm never in a million years going to work a blue-collar job. I found it a bit insulting, because they get a lot of people signed up for the program from homeless shelters, rehab clinics, and those previously incarcerated, so it came across like they were talking down to us and assuming warehouse work is the only thing we would be qualified for or willing to do. And from my experience, warehouse jobs are pretty in-demand and they hire pretty much anyone desperate for a job. My feedback for this program would be to stick to their word about helping us land in the career we like, and do a better job meeting everyone where they're at in their career.

Specifically, she taught me a very helpful framework that would give me clarity into what I wanted next, but also into what I actually needed. Alana thus helped me set clear boundaries and discover what my next step looked like. Once this was clear, one of the most difficult parts of my work was done. Alana is able to play a very personal role in helping you achieve your career goal. She takes her time to listen and understand your inner needs very well before she comes up with a plan. She truly believes that we all have a potential which we can achieve, if we take the right steps to get there. Once Alana understands your inner needs, she is able to easily unlock any personal or professional limitations and help you fulfill your potential by focusing on the specific areas that need action. I would highly recommend Alana to anyone who needs guidance with their career, seeks help regarding the job market, has uncertainties about the psychological part behind getting your dream job, is interested in recruiting -- her knowledge & experience around the area is incredible; or simply getting to know a gifted soul! :)

Alana has provided career guidance for me multiple times over the last 5+ years. She genuinely…read morecares about you as a person, and that remains priority #1 while she lends her extensive experience in Bay Area (and beyond!) recruiting to your personal situation. Alana will take the time to understand you as a person and provide counseling beyond what could be expected of a typical 'HR-type' looking to fill their next open position. With her inside experience she is able to guide your resume, conversation skills, and expectations to highlight your skills and strengths, and help you expose potential employers to the 'you' they really want to meet. This can be difficult for those with 'engineering minds' like myself who tend to be more objective, and Alana definitely helped me step out of that box. Most recently, I worked with Alana to update and improve my resume. After a single session we had completely re-worked one section of my resume to better reflect 'my voice' and clearly state my accomplishments in a way that highlighted my abilities as well as reflecting my personality. The difference from the initial draft I sent her to the final draft I used for interviews is subtle but dramatic, and I am positive it played a role in the callbacks I received. To hand over a resume that truly represents you makes everything that follows more natural, and that is a HUGE deal when making career moves! Beyond the resume, Alana was there to talk out any concerns, nerves, and provide encouragement throughout multiple levels of interviews and offer negotiations, something that can be overwhelming for someone at any level of professional experience. She has helped me aim higher than I would have on my own and provided the insider confidence I needed to push for the best possible outcomes. Could not recommend anyone higher; do yourself and your future a favor and let Alana guide you through your next professional moves.

Aimhire found me a temporary position, which I accepted, with the understanding that the position was nearby and would last approximately 3 months or more. When I discussed the issue with the recruiter she didn't seem to care, she just responded saying that now I had something to put on my resume. How do you put a job where you spent 6 days on a resume??? Additionally, I had to significantly cut back on hours at my other job to take this opportunity. I was not able to get all of my shifts back after my temp job was over. Through this process Aimhire cost me both time and money; I would never recommend this agency to anyone.
