You cannot wear regular shoes as they scratch the clear kayaks. Our guide, Drew, and his "photographer", Matthew, were excellent. First tip - get there early so you can explore the general area. We had a little time, so we hiked to Balanced Rock for some great views and some photo ops. "Gorge Underground" is an abandoned limestone mine (where they accidentally struck water and flooded it beyond use). Luckily, it's great for a kayaking adventure! Our guides were super nice and very informative. With one in front, and one bringing up the rear, you were free to wander (just a little) versus single-file through a boring tour. The experiences is just really cool. At one point, we ended up in the farthest-in part of the cave, and we all turned off our headlamps. Pitch dark. The guide had some funny stories, but then asked if it was anyone's birthday coming up (it was my son's in a couple days). So we all sang happy birthday to him (but he couldn't be embarrassed - it was dark and nobody knew who he was!). After finishing our 90 minute tour, it was time to dock. My wife and I lagged behind to be the last ones out, giving us probably 10 extra minutes of "taking it all in". One regret is that we didn't plan ahead enough to get the clear kayaks with LED lights. That would have been another layer of "cool". I would recommend to anyone. The water is still as can be, so it's a gentle paddle that anyone can do.

He installed our weight distribution system for us with hard work and experience. He helped us understand how the system worked and walked us through the process. This man took an already incredible experience and sent us on our way in the best way possible. No, we are not from here, are not used to driving in the mountains, and we had our two family members with disabilities, so it took longer than expected. However, we still arrived at 11:58 am. One of the women at the counter was absolutely rude, wouldn't even look at us. The other one was nicer. We were told when we made the reservations to go to the address: 2001 Hwy 90 Corbin, KY 40701 and that is where we went. However, when we arrived, we were told that we were 20 mins away from where we needed to be. WE HAD PASSED THE AREA on our way to 2001 HWY 90. The one woman then stated that there was a link on a confirmation email that would have taken us to the right place. When we click on the links, one link is to confirm the reservation and that has the address as 2001 HWY 90, the other link shows us going from 2001 HWY 90 and then to the boat, which led us to believe that we had to go there and check in first. It wasn't stated anywhere in the email, or on the phone, that the gift store and the place to catch the boat were two different locations. This not only destroyed our plans to celebrate our mother, our entire day was planned around the river boat, zip lining, rafting and spending an entire day having a great time. And not to forget the $288 we paid for an absolute disappointment! and we're told there would be no refund!
