We initially hired Gerson and his small team to replace the carpet in our room with laminate. Gerson was prompt - he came for the initial estimate appointment and gave us a fair quote that was cheaper than the other two quotes we had received. He was also very flexible - we originally agreed to have this work done on a Thursday and Friday but needed to change to Sunday and Monday and he showed up as he stated (a bit later than he said the start time would be but we could always count on him to respond if we had questions about his whereabouts). Only thing that is a bit hard is that English is not his main language and so things like the contract for a price is a little off. He'll tell you the price but it's not in a contract so it's best you write it out to make sure you're understanding him correctly. He also offers add-on services for laminate such as removing and replacing the baseboards for extra so also good to clarify the numbers when he's offering those services. He finished the laminate and it blended into our current laminate so well we couldn't tell it was just installed! We liked his work so much that we asked him for a quote for the popcorn ceiling removal in all of the rooms in our home -- his quote was once again a price that was much lower than the rest of the other quotes we received. He finished both projects in two days and it was done beautifully and professionally. Gerson has an eye for making sure things are done correctly and is not shy to make suggestions for your next house project lol. Thank you Gerson for all of your great work. I highly recommend him for any of these projects that we hired him for. We definitely appreciated his positive and professional demeanor throughout the project. read more

We were faced with major renovation needs to my parents' house, but with a limited budget. We hired Gerson to install luxury vinyl flooring and he and his crew did an amazing job at an unbeatable price. When we learned he also did general contracting work we quickly hired him to install drywall and paint. He also does landscaping! He is trustworthy, reliable, and tidy. He and his crew have gone above and beyond for our family and we can't thank them enough!! We're very pleased with his work and will not hesitate to support this family business and call on him for any other general contracting needs. Thank you, Gerson & Family! read more

He helped renovate our family home. Installed new carpeting, laminate flooring & landscaping. We were very happy with his & team's work. Thank you, Gerson! read more

Installed the carpet incorrectly, glue everywhere , and now will not respond. He has no level of professional service, he will just take your money and go. Poor level of service. Poor quality. Do not recommend. Run away now and hire a real professional. I would rather pay more for more value. I don't think he is licensed or registered, nor would he provide his tax information. read more

Gerson and his team replaced the carpets in 3 of my bedrooms about 6 months ago -- they did an amazing job. Gerson was responsive during the quote process, good communication. Quote was great, he told me what was wrong with the way the original carpet was laid and what he would do differently, really knowledgeable on his craft. He completed the work very fast, less than a half day. Workmanship was great. Showed me pictures of some of the other work he's done - bathroom remodels, baseboards, kitchen remodels.. I got a quote for redoing my kitchen floors -- will definitely reach back out when it is time to do that. Do yourself a favor, call Gerson. read more

Updating my review after my first initial review. We continued to have Gerson and his team working on our bathroom tiling, but added on to the original bathroom work, including some backsplash and tiling surrounding (floor, around mirrors and the wall). I cannot continue to express my gratitude and thankfulness with how Gerson and team are so considerate and easy to work with. The quality of work is great, they are very professional and their communication is very transparent. They listen to customers and want to ensure we all have a good experience choosing them and can definitely vouch for the great job they do. Thank you! read more

We had a scheduling glitch primarily due to language difficulties. But once we had figured that out, Gerson and his helper showed up early on the following Saturday and got the job done perfectly. He's fast efficient clean and careful, plus super friendly and cheerful. If you speak Spanish or have a friend who does, you might want to check any fine details first, or make sure everything is understood before starting. But that's a minor thing. Great guys, great work. read more

Gerson does quality work and not only that he is a great person to work with. We needed carpeting replaced in the back sun room. I saw Gerson's Yelp reviews and gave him a call. That day Garson came over and provided a competitive quote. I instantly knew he was the person I wanted to work with. The very next day he came over pulled up the old carpet and padding, replaced everything anew, cleaned up and the room was transformed! Not only did Garson do a great job on the carpet but he also fixed the sliding door that was not sliding so well. As others have pointed out Garson goes above and beyond. I highly recommend Garson and look forward to working with he and his team on our upcoming projects. Thank you Garson! read more

Gerson did an excellent job putting carpet on our stairs. He came once to measure the stairs and provide some carpet samples. Then he gave me a very reasonable quote and came back within the week to do the job, with another worker. They finished the work quickly, within a few hours, and it looks great! He's very precise and made sure not to damage the wood underneath. read more

Gerson has almost completed an entire interior remodel of our house, starting with just the removal of the master bedroom carpet. We trusted him to complete the rest of the house. Him and his team have now also repainted our exterior and have redone our backyard. They built us a custom chicken coop, retaining wall, cleaned everything, and always take the utmost care and attention to their work. I wish he could just move in with us at this point lol! He is so thorough, efficient, professional and easy to work with. If I point out any imperfections, modifications, or any changes, he gets right to work on doing exactly what I need. Him and his team are so hard working! I can't say enough about how high quality his work is and it's beyond affordable! read more

Gerson installed carpet that I provided for 2 bedrooms and stairs. The stairs were open wrap around stairs. He charged $1200 for one days work. He said he had done this kind of stairs many times before. When he was done, the painters were painting and the stairs were covered. After I paid Gerson, the painters removed the covering on the stairs and I noticed he had not covered the side that faced the living room and the rusty metal was showing instead of carpet. I called him and he said that he would fix it. I had to buy more carpet because he had ruined the carpet on the stairs and when the carpet arrived I called him and he said he would come out to fix it. He gave me a time that he would be out and he didn't show up or answer my texts or phone calls. Also he asked me to pay him $100 for gas! I would never use him again because if you have a concern he is not going to fix it. Obviously he doesn't stand by his work. Awful business practice!! read more

Gerson Bustillo - New carpet installed! - Carpet Installation Near Me

If it weren't for Gerson, I wouldn't be sitting in this chair writing this review. Last week, my bathroom sink exploded from a burst water pipe , and started flooding my studio apt--and I mean FLOODING! 2", 3" in less than 5 minutes my apt was practically underwater. Luckily, Tony Drolapas (best LL ever), was nearby and rushed to the disaster. He brought a fan, a heavy duty heater, some mops, and we started mopping like crazy. It took 2-3 days before the apt. was dry enough to start cutting out the worst of the carpet. Using heavy duty shears, I cut out the worst part of the carpet and Mat, making a nice neat square of bare wood for the workmen to lay the new carpet on. The color wasn't an exact match, but close enough. Gerson Bustillo was thorough, exact, friendly, and everything you'd want in someone responding to a disaster like mine. There may be equally good plumbers in S.F, but nobody better than Mr. Bustillo. Jerry Gray read more

Gerson put carpet on my stairs today. He and his guys were so sweet, so fast, so clean and did a great job. I am super happy.

Great job on the flooring in an extremely timely matter. I would trust and highly recommend for any needs!

Glad to have met Gerson. When another carpet pro stood us up for stretching prior to putting a house on the market , Gerson was able to accommodate us last minute. Great communication and customer service! Fair price too. read more

Gerson went above and beyond expectations. He listened carefully, made good suggestions, did excellent work not only in flooring, but also painting and carpentry. After I paid for his services, I called to ask him to return and fix a window. He returned, did the best he could, and he didn't charge me. Definitely, I would hire him again. read more

I saw Gerson's great reviews on Yelp and reached out to him when I was in a tough spot and deciding what to do about the floors. He chatted with me for 3 days. He let me know his schedule and the options. Then he met me at the property and brought the direct samples with him. After meeting Gerson we had no choice but to move forward, he was that great. He texted me that night to confirm our choices and give an estimate, met me there the next morning and finished with his crew that very day. Not only did he do the floors he took it upon himself to change the thresholds and he completely fixed the baseboards to match. We are blown away! He's a great guy and worked some real magic. Would recommend to everyone I know!! read more

Initially he was responsive, but we made an appointment for him to come to my home in order to provide an estimate and he didn't show up or contact me in any way to say he couldn't come and never asked to reschedule. Posted my request for carpet stretching at 2:00pm today. Gerson replied within minutes, he mentioned he can provide the service at 5pm today if not too late. Gerson stopped by on time with mask on, took a look at the issues, made some great suggestions and fixed everything right on the spot. Great guy, professional and quick service. Thank you so much. read more

A bottle of drain cleaner leaked onto our carpeted staircase, removing the color completely in three large spots. Since the carpet was no longer available, my supplier suggested removing a piece from one of our closets and using that for the stair step and then replacing the closet carpet with a remnant that came close to what we had. Gerson was more than helpful. He tried to find a remnant that matched, and when he couldn't, and I had to purchase a huge piece, he went and picked it up, came to the house and installed the carpet. The stair looks like all of the others; the closet looks just perfect. He and Carlos arrived on time, did an excellent job, and left my house immaculate. From the get-go, Gerson was super responsive and helpful. I highly recommend him. read more

Absolutely fantastic. Installed laminate on my stairs, couldn't recommend enough.

I had a small window of time to install laminate flooring and new baseboards in a rental property. Gerson was quick to respond, meet, and provide a quote. They did a terrific job on my bedroom floor, removing wall to wall carpeting and installing a laminate floor. Gerson did an awesome job replacing the carpet in my bedroom. He offered a variety of colors and styles of carpet and was able to get what I wanted quickly. He was able to complete the install the next day - a Saturday - and was fast and efficient in pulling up the old carpet and installing the new carpet. They cleaned up very well and left the room spotless. They even took off their shoes during the installation to keep the carpet clean. I'd definitely hire Gerson again!
