    Doner Kebab Sandwich
    Ann C.

This place is a hidden gem! We had a burst of energy one night and went out for a long walk. On our way home, we stopped in German Doner Kebab (GDK)... what a great stop. We ordered a Kebab Sandwich and some poutine for my son. The poutine had chicken and gravy and melted cheese curds, he said it was mid compared to other poutine he has had. The sandwich was awesome. It made my "best food of 2024" list. The sandwich was doner meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, red cabbage and three sauces on toasted waffle bread. It was so good. Service was just fine... no complaints. While we were there, GDK really got busy... but the place was clean and not overly loud. We will be back, for sure!

Great food. A bit pricey for fast food if you get the meal with fries but ok if you just order the wrap. We didn't make it a meal as we ordered poutine. The flavours were really good and they gave you a buzzer for when the food was ready but they brought it out to you. Everything was so tasty. Would definitely go again.

We need a quick dinner in the area, and decided to get German Doner kebab he try. We ordered the original German Doner Kebab and the Doner box with salad and fries. Unfortunately, they did not have chicken ready when we were there, so we only tried the beef option. The original has a generous portion of sliced Doner and veggies packed in a grilled crepe-bread hybrid. The bread is very unique, and nothing like I've had before. It's dense while being toasty, thin but holds up to the three sauces that you can drizzle over it, textured but chewy in a good way. Highly recommend trying it out! The salad and fries box was a great deal as you get a mound of salad with a large portion of Doner. Good for those looking for a healthier option. It's hard to dig around the box as it is quite deep, so I would suggest breaking the box open on the sides to make your own plate.

We tried the doner wrap and the doner poutine. The service was quick and the people were friendly. The place wasn't very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so the server brought the food to us. The place is clean and spacious. The wrap had a lot of flavour and good amount of meat. I especially appreciated the listing of allergens on their sign near the cash. A little on the pricey side, but otherwise a solid place to visit.

We were happy to have stumbled upon a fast food type of place @gdkcanada that serves quality food with fast food price tag and big portion while starving and strolling thru DT for FOOD!! We ordered 2 food items to share and a drink for myself: "The Original German Doner Kabob" with beef in a homemade toaster sesame bread. There was an option of picking wrap instead of sesame bread ($10.99). We were surprised by how big the portion was. The yummy sandwich came with juicy beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage and 3 signature sauces. Doner Quesadilla with chicken ($8.99): It came with 4 slices of quesadilla. It was super cheesy, filled with chicken, melted cheese, onion, jalapeño and 3 signature sauces. Picture didn't do justice as we were eating in the car rushing to a game and too eager to eat without taking proper pics! Mixed Icee slushy: approximately $3.5 (forgot exactly price). This place offers good food in portion and with very reasonable price! Their menu offers variety of items and we would love to return to try more soon!! They have two other locations in Ottawa, and B.C.. This is so far their only location in Toronto. 246 Queen Street West, Toronto Follow me @eatntravelrepeat on IG for more food adventures!!

This place was recommended by the Airbnb I am staying at. Super delicious! The chicken was moist. The garlic sauce was dynamite!! Next time I would ask for only that and not get the other two sauces. (Note: if you order the original as-is, you get all 3 sauces on your sandwich and all 3 sauces on the side to dip your fries in.) My only gripe is that they didn't have any ice for my drink - I know, I know, that's the American in me. At least my drink was chilled!

One of the very few places in North America that serves authentic donner kabobs. Great food. Fast service. Even reasonable pricing. Parking if tough.

If you hang around Queen/Yonge often, you'll have likely passed by GDK, which is a global kebab chain. Doner is different from shawarma in the sense that doner kebab is more thinly sliced meat and the sandwiches contian different toppings. I like that GDK serves sandwiches on toasted waffle bread, which is a unique spin. Their sandwiched are packed with meat and veggies that the sandwich alone left me completely full. The establishment is very spacious and in the heart of Downtown Toronto, so I highly recommend checking out.

Doners and kebabs are some of my go-to comfort foods, so I'm excited about this new chain I tried a couple months ago. The German Doner Kebab chain originated in Berlin and is popular with many chains in the UK. The owner told us the breading they use comes from Dubai. They recommended the wrap and the original doner kebab for the first time. The staff suggested the spring roll, which I usually do not go for, but I added it along with some spicy fries and raspberry lemonade. The food is delicious, and I can see myself rinsing and repeating. I'm eyeing that kcal kebab for something healthier for next time. I didn't expect I'd like the spring roll as much as I do. It's original and has some of the kebab meat in there. Fries were crispy though what is most unforgettable is the signature sauces that elevate the doner further. They gave three types for each meal ordered. We ordered for takeout, and I like the solid packaging. The place is bright and sleek. The service was just a tad slower than expected (when I went a couple of months ago), given it is fast food. The fries were missing in our order, though good thing we checked, and they quickly included it. I'm sure they will iron out the minor kinks soon.

We stopped here to eat because it was convenient to where we were. The food was well priced, the staff was polite, the food was decent. I didn't have anything complaints about anything regarding the experience. Kebabs are Shawarma have become very common in the GTA and I wouldn't say this place stood out as being great or aweful. But it did seem to hit all of the notes that it needed to.

Are you a sauce person? Look no further and try these kebabs! They come with 3 sauces- one garlic, one yogurt based, and one sweet/hot sauce. I noticed some other reviews mentioned slow service so I ordered pickup in advance so that my order was ready on arrival. It took about 20 mins from when I ordered. I ordered the original diner kebab with a mix of beef and chicken. Other than the color difference in the meats, I can't say I can tell much of a difference in flavour between the two, albeit they were both delicious. It came in a thin waffle print wrap and heaps and heaps of meat and toppings. With the sauces, which I used for dipping, this sandwich was SO good! I would highly recommend checking German Doner Kebab out. The shop is also great value for the huge portions and unique flavours. I'm sure I'll be a regular here!

Listen to me ladies and gentlemen! This is one of the best things I've ever tried in my life !!!! My goodness, the staff really were insightful and actually explained the best options. Now I got the mixed döner and it was amazing, it came with three types of sauces as well, my friend enjoyed the meal as well. The best part it is very affordable and you'll get full because the portion size is good

I mistakenly came upon Town Crier Pub due to some marketing miscommunication on my part. I saw a lovely lunch special sidewalk sign and thought it was for them, but it was actually for the restaurant next door! However, I was already committed, and I always loved pubbing. Opened in early 2011, it was named after the historical role of town criers who served as the primary news source in medieval times. With the general theme of Belgian and German styles, its owners believed that European beers and news were linked. He checked in often while we chatted throughout the time. It was a cool hang out for lunch - danke! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was in the area all day for the start of the Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. OVERALL Town Crier Pub had me laughing, talking, and people watching for a relaxing afternoon and would gladly return. The number of beers available both on tap and in bottles was insane and I loved it! The food menu was expansive. The food was fine but nothing special, and the prices were relatively comparable. But, it was the service and staff that literally reeled me in for a good time.
