The problems started when I made an online reservation (#27465) in March 2026 for a four tire…read morereplacement of low profile Continental tires. I arrived promptly and 30 minutes into the appointment the problems began when they initially stated they could not change my tires due to hub-centric spacers being used on the front tires and that they "couldn't ensure the torque settings". Mind you, these have been on the car for 19 years without issue. I offered to sign any release they needed and/or offered to park outside and I would take the front tires off myself and hand them the rims so I took all responsibility but both offers were refused. The manager then said they could take the spacers off, check for clearance issues and then they could replace the tires. After 2hrs the tires were mounted and paid the bill and walked outside to see the technician in my car with an OBD scanner hooked up and several ABS related dash lights illuminated. After some time, he pulled the car back into the bay and said there was an issue with the ABS sensor and shroud and offered to cut it off so I could leave. I refused, noting the ABS sensor and shroud are critical safety items and were obviously damaged during the service by the technician failing to check the fit of the wheel and lug bolts, as they said he would do before taking any spacers off. After some discussion, the manager offered to fix the mistake the next day (Wed) but that day came and went with a call noting there would be a delay and the car should be ready by Thurs. By the time I received the call late Thurs, I was at work and wasn't able to pick up until Fri. When I picked the car up, she handed me the keys and politely sent on my way with no apology, no offer of any sort for all the time wasted, nothing. So, the following issues occurred while the vehicle was in their care: Mechanical Damage: The ABS system was broken during the tire installation, requiring significant repairs. The original 'cure' was to cut out the damaged metal and send me on my way? This is a national and ostensibly professional shop. Someone should know what they're doing to prevent the damage as well as not trying to convince me into a hack 'repair' of a critical brake system component. Property Damage: All four of my painted wheels were returned with visible gouges and finish damage that did not exist previously. I've had these tires previously re-mounted and balanced without damage so it obviously wasn't a wheel defect. I saw at least one of the wheels with an air tool on top which is likely how some of the damage occurred. Service Delays: A routine tire change that should have taken a few hours resulted in my vehicle being held for three days. This required me to burn work leave and I was forced to make my own extra cost arrangements to secure transportation. I understand the ABS damage was eventually fixed but I thought for sure there would be something more than "here's your keys" - goodbye. I lost time at work, incurred extra costs and they couldn't offer up anything to try and make it right? Even wrote a polite letter to the corporate office and that too was met with silence. No surprise i guess - a person told me he had a simple oil change done and they left the filler cap off and set off his check engine light and they just gave him a shrug, found the cap and acted as if it was no big deal. Guess I should not be surprised they take no pride in their work. Don't be sucked into the price - the service and management is what matters and it's sorely lacki

However, when I tried to check in with the man at the desk I was told no appointment was on file and maybe it was the West Street store. I told him no it was here, but this person (I wish I got his name) was disinterested and condescending and said it was 1.5 to 2 hours wait for the oil change. I said no thanks and drove down to Valvoline and was in and out in 30 minutes. Valvoline is not my first choice because they are always trying to upsell but this time it was money well spent. Need some tires for my SUV soon and I was thinking NTB but now I'll head down to Pep Boys where I have received good service in the past. I used NTB because they were closer to my house after we moved but now I'll just take a few more minutes to go where I am treated properly.

I brought my truck to Dad's Garage in Owings for three relatively straightforward items:…read more * TPMS sensor programming * Tire balancing * Diagnosing an emergency brake-related clunking noise under load I had an 8:00 AM appointment scheduled well in advance, yet after TWO full days, the truck sat untouched until around 2:00 PM on the second day. This was a job that realistically should have taken a couple of hours. The TPMS issue was never resolved. Initially, I was told the sensors had been programmed correctly and that the warning lights were caused by incorrect tire pressure -- one of the most ignorant explanations I've ever heard from a mechanic. The reality was simple: the inner rear TPMS sensors were never programmed at all, which was the entire reason the truck was brought in. They eventually admitted that after the fact. Next was the wheel balancing. My truck has custom powder-coated wheels. Instead of using stick-on weights like the factory setup already had, they installed hammer-on steel weights on the OUTER edge of the rims, damaging the powder coating in the process. Any competent shop should have immediately recognized the proper balancing method after removing the existing stick-on weights. As for the emergency brake concern, they never properly diagnosed it. I specifically brought the truck in for a loud noise under load -- not the normal sound of the electronic parking brake actuator engaging. They dismissed the issue without ever meaningfully reproducing or testing the concern. To top it all off, they broke a wheel stud using an impact gun on the lug nuts rather than properly torquing them as a qualified mechanic should. Because of the excessive use of the impact gun, I now have concerns about stretching or cracking of the remaining wheel studs and will likely be replacing all of them as a precautionary safety measure. Between the damaged powder coating on the wheels and the wheel stud issue, I am now facing well over $1,000 in damages to either have the wheels professionally re-powder coated or replaced, along with replacing the studs they improperly handled. What made the experience even worse was my conversation with Mike, the owner. From the beginning of the call, he was defensive and adamant that everything had been performed correctly -- until several of those claims were proven untrue. Once confronted with the facts, the conversation quickly became unprofessional, including yelling on the phone rather than attempting to resolve the situation appropriately. Two days wasted, damage to my wheels, unresolved issues, poor communication, and additional damage caused while the vehicle was in their possession. This experience was frustrating from start to finish. Steer clear of Dad's Garage unless you want your vehicle returned with more issues than it had when you dropped it off.

people will die if this tech stays there…read more The owner has responded by claiming these reviews are written by employees. That is not true. I am a customer, and this review is based on my personal experience. I brought my vehicle in for service, and the technician who worked on it was Charles Beall. After the repair, I experienced a serious safety failure. When I later took the car to another shop, they inspected the work and informed me that the brake lines were improperly assembled and had too many fittings, making them unsafe. Those fittings failed, and the brake lines came apart. At the time this happened, my son was in the car with me, and we were extremely lucky that the situation did not result in serious injury or worse. This was not a minor issue -- it was a life-threatening safety failure. This review is not about personal attacks or fake reviews. It is about accountability. A shop is responsible for the work performed by its technicians, and dismissing legitimate safety concerns instead of addressing them only reinforces the lack of responsibility being taken here.

The third time they were wobbling. Each time I went back they told me it was defective materials and they supposedly put new ones on. I finally got someone to change my brakes and they told me the original rotors were still on my car. I have a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe and the rotors had never been changed. They still said Hyundai. So this means that not only did they NOT give me new rotors the first time I went. Even after I went back twice, they never corrected it. So in my eyes, they cheated me three times. Clearly I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I saw rust on the rotors at one point but again just thought it was "defective" as they had said. This was the first time I'd not gone to the dealer to get my car fixed. Not only that, when I finally got the brakes done properly by someone else, they said they had zip tied the connector to the e-brake. Again I have no idea what that means but they broke something and then zip tied it back together. So I have to get a new connector. Bottom line, they charged me $1000, only changed the pads, didn't correct the issue even after I brought the car back two more times with problems, AND the broke the connector to my e-brake. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I can't rate this place low enough.
