We received our NEW washing machine almost two weeks ago and it still does not work. It arrived defective and when a technician came out, they could not figure out what was wrong, which was incredibly frustrating. We were told LG requires a repair attempt before approving a replacement, which we understand, but dealing with Gerald's has been exhausting. Communication has been poor, we have had to constantly follow up, and we still have no clear timeline. Being without a washer for weeks, especially during the holidays and with a toddler at home, has been a huge inconvenience. This is still ongoing and based on how this has been handled, we will never purchase from Gerald's again and will never recommend them. read more

They came to install my dishwasher when they left the dishwasher errored that it is not draining. I called them they said I need a plumber. The plumber came and said they can't do anything I need them to come back. I called them to come return it I did not want it to come pick it up and they tried to send someone to fix it and that person left said it was installed wrong and they need to send an installer. Beware! Do not buy from Gehrhards! Once they sell you an appliance and take your $, they wash their hands of you. Our LG washer broke within two weeks of delivery. Gehrhards would do nothing! Had to deal with LG warranty department. After three seperate service calls they determined the washer to be factory defective. We had been without a washer since August 18. No help from Gehrhards so called "customer service". They are empowered to do nothing. Promised several call backs that never came. LG finally delivered a replacement on October 4. I recently purchased four kitchen appliances from Gerhard's Malvern. I decided to buy from them instead of a big box store. Sadly, I did not receive the level of customer service that I hoped for from this family owned company. First, I was ill advised on a refrigerator purchase and ended up with a poorly operating Whirlpool. It ran almost continuously. Second, the installer did not correctly connect the refrigerator to my waterline, and it leaked causing damage to a floor and some drywall in my house. I will say that after I took time to revisit the store and plead my case, the manager did exchange the refrigerator for a better model which better suited my space. This one was installed on the same water line as the first with no problem. In retrospect, I was also ill-advised on my choice of installation. Having my own plumber present would have avoided the damage to my house. I filed a claim, but even under these extenuating circumstances, their customer support refuses to take any responsibility for the damages caused by the first installer's mistakes. I purchased a washer + dryer + was impressed that they were delivered + installed in 2 days. Unfortunately the dryer operation was not checked. When I turned it on the drum banged the side of the dryers cabinet. if the installers had checked that they could have just taken it back. A salesperson said They would send someone to check it out only to find out it was the deliverers that were appointed. They called + said there was nothing they could do + they would arrange for a new one. My salesman said he had to process a return before it could be replaced. I called several days after no response + finally spoke to a manager who set an appointment for a tech. to check it out. If it can't be fixed they have to go thru the manufacturer to replace it. Fortunately the dryer can be used but must listen to the banging. I expected better service from Gerhard's. read more

We bought an LG washing machine and dryer a year ago, problems after less than a month. Repeat problems, like 6 service calls first 6 months on washing machine. Dryer had repeat warnings of lint filter issues, repair tech says ignore. After 6 service calls machine is not working. Most recently water was pouring out back of washer. On the visit before that the technician cut his arm badly in washing machine and bled badly all over the machine between tub and washer, I had to run bleach cycles. Horrible delivery experience and it should not be this way. Instead of going to Home Depo or Lowes went to Gerhard's for the most professional customer experience. No a zero again. Paid for a new washer/dryer. Delivery people were rude and did not know how to hook up a new washer. After they left my contractor came over and although not a plumber had the thing hooked up in 10 minutes. Gerhards did not know how to shut off water and let the line drain. I did but did not listen to me. Never again. I still have the old washer in my basement.....they were in a hurry and could not wait 10 whole minutes..........rude, horrible and in a hurry to get to the next stop. This could happen to you. We needed a new clothes dryer. When we went to Gerhard's Malvern store, the particular model we wanted was not on the floor. We were assisted by Frank, who promptly found what we were looking for at another Gerhard's location, offered a couple of alternatives for the same price for our consideration, and answered all our questions. We were in and out in less than half an hour. We have gotten other appliances from Gerhard's, and will continue to do so because of Frank and all the other Gerhard's sales reps: highly professional, knowledgeable, and always focused on the customer's needs. read more

I recently purchased 11 new appliances from Gerhard's. I spent more than $60,000 with them. I was very excited to get my new appliances, but my excitement turned to disappointment when the delivery and installation process was a complete disaster. All but 2 were either improperly instilled or damaged by their delivery team. The first problem was that they could never tell me when my appliances would arrive. Every time that I called, I was given a totally different answer. Then I was told that all of my appliances had to be delivered by them at one time and that they could not deliver them to me as they received them. This happened for months. It got to the point that Gerhard's would not even return my phone calls. Then I found out from the manufacturer that Gerhard's had never placed an order with them in the first place. Here are some of the things that happened. When the appliances finally arrived, the delivery guys damaged my refrigerator and freezer so badly that they both had to be completely replaced by the manufacturer. They never fastened my refrigerator drawers to the ground, so they damaged my floors and caused the unit to tip. My ice maker was not installed correctly, so water drained all over my floor and caused my downstairs ceiling to be be replaced. They delivered the wrong size under-counter refrigerator and tried to charge me a restocking fee to exchange it for the correct one. It literally took months of fighting with them to get the appliances delivered and 6-8 months of working with the manufacturer to fix Gerhard's mistakes. I would not recommend Gerhard's to anyone. The delivery and installation process was a complete disaster, and I feel like I was treated like an afterthought. I will never shop at Gerhard's again. We live in the Philadelphia area...There are many other shopping options. Advice: If you are considering buying appliances from Gerhard's, I would strongly advise you to reconsider. I had a very negative experience with this store, and I would not want anyone else to go through the same thing. I would recommend that you shop at a different appliance store that has a better reputation for customer service. This business is execrable. But I'm sharing this experience because it's kind of a funny story. I've bought a few things here over the years. The showroom is really impressive and they carry a lot of brands -- or seem to. It was our attempt, after buying a house two years ago, to replace the dishwasher and cooktop / ventilation hood, where things got weird. We placed our order and we're told the items were back ordered. So we waited. And waited. And waited. I think six months went by. Numerous calls, no proactive communication. No appliances. Then, our washer and dryer died. Both of them, at once. We called our salesperson, asking for help. Our space required compact stackable units which makes the selection a little more challenging. She wouldn't return our calls. Not once. We described what we needed. No response. We finally bought from Home Depot. Then it got weird. In response to one of my calls, I was finally told the dishwasher was in. But the other items weren't and they were going to wait until everything had arrived before they would deliver. I said no. I told them to cancel the order. We were done. And they seemed to assent, so I figured I was finished with Gerhardt's. The better part of a year wasted with nothing to show for it. But not so fast. They sent me a sales contract asking me to sign. Still no delivery, so I refused. They began sending me monthly statements stating that I owed them the full price for all appliances--none of which had ever been delivered. Every month I told them no. I owed them nothing. A mistake, they always replied. Then, they sent me to collection. For no contract, no delivery of appliances, no purchase, no exchange of value. Nothing. I replied with a scathing response demanding that they produce evidence of a transaction. And again, they were silent. They've stayed that way. read more

We decided to replace and purchase all of our appliances from the Malvern location. This included a refrigerator, microwave, oven, speed oven, warming drawer and 2 dishwashers. At 1st, we were happy with the information and assistance with the salesperson and our purchase/investment of almost $50,000. The service and the way we were treated after the purchase was frankly "a terrible experience". The communication was lacking and we were treated rudely by the Malvern location, even after the delivery team left without completing the install, chipping our brand new marble countertop, and left us trying to figure out what happened. I went upstairs for 10 minutes and these delivery guys jest left without a word. The refrigerator water dispenser was not tested and not working, and 2 dishwashers were not installed. 1 of the dishwashers was damaged and needed to be replaced. After contacting the Malvern location about this, they finally picked up the phone after screening my calls to have the dishwasher replaced and water dispenser fixed the following Monday. Long behold, the same delivery guy from last time never showed up. He said he tried calling and left a message which was untrue. Finally, a new dishwasher delivery was scheduled the following Friday and that dishwasher was damaged as well (2 out of 3 dishwashers damaged). I understand that things are not perfect, but what happens after problems like this is what is most important. Not very important though to the folks who got credit for a very large sale. Rebate Issues - I purchased a 4 piece Samsung kitchen set in July 2024 with the offer of significant rebates to lower the cost. Since submitting all the rebates, I have spent numerous hours having to follow up and fight for the rebate owed from Samsung and NECO. Both sources of rebates tried to short me the amount owed. As of February 2025, I am still trying to get $250 from Samsung because they only sent a portion of what was owed. I contacted Gerhards' "rebate specialist" and store manager asking for them to help with the issue and they claim to not have any way to assist other than contacting a Samsung sales rep. Don't get scammed by enticing rebate offers as you will spend days, weeks and months of your life fighting for the rebate and getting no assistance from Gerhards who advertised the offer. On top of all that, when my refrigerator was delivered it was damaged on a front panel. After THREE service appointments to have it repaired with a replacement panel that also arrived damaged, I gave up on that as well and asked for a 10% damage refund. Hopefully that information assists others to know a damage refund is available. read more

The pandemic-related supply chain issues meant that getting the particular dishwasher that I wanted was a challenge, but Gerhard's was happy to assist, and kept me updated on when it might be arriving. After it arrived in their warehouse, they scheduled with me to arrange the installation, ensuring a few changes in the schedule on my part with great and always pleasant customer service. The installation team was top notch, taking care of everything that needed to be done both with the plumbing and electricity to get the new dishwasher installed, took the old one away, and cleaned up after themselves. This is my second experience with Gerhard's and it was just as great as the first. Highly recommended. read more

----------------- Update and response: I have been in this store three times now. First to choose the fridge and get dimensions. I liked the price and rebate but needed to confirm dimensions with my contractor. Second time I went to purchase it. The lower price was still posted clearly on the fridge and within the sale's timeframe the first salesperson told me. Guy ringing me up gave me a price $400 over and wouldn't explain why. The one feature that I did not want (the water in the door) that was supposed to lower the price, but he said NOT having it actually RAISES the price?! This is opposite of what the first salesperson said. On my third visit to the store, the sale was over and a higher price was posted (in the second photo). They said, of course, now the sale was over and they would not honor the lower sale price (even though I was there on the actual sale day trying to buy it). They did explore other ways to find to lower the price but in the end it sounded like I'll still be paying $50-100 over. I was told I would get an email the next day stating the final price I would be charged. It's my understanding that the order is in the system but I have no idea what they plan on charging me. (I guess because I'm using a contractor the timing of payment is deferred and the price gets blurry? I was ready to purchase it the day I ordered it.) The last time I was there was Sunday and told I would get an email this past Monday with the final price. I've not heard back so I still have no idea what price I'm going to pay for this. By now I've seen many other bad 1 star reviews and I left in hopes of finding another store. My contractor has a connection to this store so at this point I'm going to stick with the order. This is why people go to Lowes, or Home Depot, or Delaware. At least the prices are clear and there's some level of accountability. I'm still hoping this gets resolved. I had three other major appliances to buy this season. Would be nice to find a good small local store. read more

I never knew why people gave Gerhard's a bad review, until now. We have bought a washer and dryer from Gerhard's in 2019 and then a new refrigerator from them in March 2020 and never had a problem... until our dryer started to have problems. We purchased a warranty on our LG dryer in 2019 and thank god we did cause our dryer worked maybe six months out of the two years that we had it. One of the service calls we had to wait three months for someone to come out to fix it. Every time we placed a service request we had to call Gerhard's to ask about it because the request would say it's assigned but we would never get a call from anyone to come out and repair the dryer. Apparently with our last service call, the repairs were costing more than the dryer was worth so New Leaf gave us a credit to spend on a new dryer. I was getting the run around with New Leaf when I called them on 6/2 and they told me to call Gerhard's to use the credit to buy a new dryer. I have a 3.5 year old and a 14 week old and I had had it with folding itty bitty teeny tiny clothing on a line to dry so I needed to get a new dryer right away. I called Gerhard's on 6/2 at 9:48am. I was told that the service department manager would call me back. After waiting an appropriate amount of time, I called Gerhard's back to ask for the manager. I connected with a service rep who I begged to just help me and to not give me the run around again. She told me about the credit New Leaf was giving me towards a new dryer and said that the sales people would work with me on working out a price for a new dryer. Since my initial call on 6/2, I still have not heard from the service manager to this day. I have received two calls and one text from the accounting department demanding the total bill be paid for the dryer which did not include the credit we got from New Leaf. We paid the total bill, minus the new leaf credit on 6/9 and were promised that the dryer would be delivered on 6/10. We called Gerhard's on 6/10 at 3pm and asked where the dryer was and they said that we didn't pay our bill so they cancelled the delivery. Finally got our delivery on 6/11 and the guys were like "who installed the washer and dryer before?" We said "you guys" they said "oh, well whatever they did before is fixed now". So reassuring. The people that work for this company have no idea what is going on, nor do they care. You'll be referencing "who's on first" when you deal with them. We will be buying our appliances elsewhere from here on out. This company is too unreliable and the employees are not connected with each other enough to know what;s going on and offer the customer a holistic experience. Armed with my research I went to both big box stores in my area (Montgomery county) neither had any of the ranges at the top of my list. I went to Gerhard's and not only did they have my top ranges on display, they also had the best price. Nicole Powell in Malvern looked over my list, asked me how I cook (I bake a lot) and what features were important to me. She gave me the pros and cons of each range. I received my new Cafe slide-in range in one week! There was a slight problem with installation but one call to Nicole and it was handled asap. This place is bi-polar. The saleswoman in the Malvern store was very helpful. Knowledgeable, not pushy, really very nice. But, and here is the problem why I am giving them 2 stars, the delivery service is awful and I mean awful. They delivered a washing machine that was caved in in the front. It had to go back. Getting the dryer in to my condo was a nightmare. I kept telling them they had to use the cargo elevator and they were trying to get on the regular elevators which would have cost me a $500 fine for each elevator. Guys were in and out so fast I didn't even know if they tried the dryer to see if it worked. I finally canceled the rescheduled washer delivery because I am not going to fight with Gerhard's deliverymen again about where and how to get an appliance in to my unit. Also as an side, they charged me $89 to reverse the door on the dryer. The dryer got here with the door opening still the wrong way. So they took the door off in the parking lot and then screwed the door on to the other side. I paid $89 for that? What a total mess this was. read more

We try so hard to buy local, but they just have the worst customer service and sales attitude on the planet. The ONLY time I ever saw them behave as if they were glad to see us, was after the shut down for COVID was over. Then, they got their legs under them and right back to their usual BS. We ordered a dishwasher from them - had a broken part. The installer could've easily caught that. But we had to find it and take a pic and get a replacement part. Several months later we had the unit looked at as the door felt loose. The repair man first showed up with no mask. We made him put one on (this was as numbers were climbing out of control). He didn't cover his nose and it wasn't until I threatened to physically throw him out that he covered his nose. Simultaneous to all this, we purchased a warming drawer. The installers went to put it in, but it was damaged. They installed it anyway and it wouldn't shut. We didn't notice until after they left. So we had to have a repair tech out because it wouldn't seal; because, you know, it was damaged. The repair tech said "Oh, it's because this side is dented." He then hammered the side back out and put it back in - and now the drawer wobbled like it was about to fall out. We reached out to Sally and first, she said "Well the appliance guy said it works." Yes, Sally, the unit works, but it doesn't close properly, it arrived damaged, and it wasn't inexpensive. We sent her a video. Sally said "Maybe it's supposed to be like that." WTH? Shouldn't you know? Rather than reach out to other stores to find out, she suggested WE go out, in the height of new COVID cases, and see if a unit installed at another store behaved the same way. Very long story later - the other store worked fine and even the mftcr (when we sent them the vid) said it shouldn't wobble. In the end, we had to involve a lawyer. They finally ordered a replacement unit. The installers came out a month ago, but clearly had NO idea what they were doing. They couldn't even figure out how to remove the drawer to install the new one. They said it didn't need screws and was just friction fit. So I showed them the installation manual THEY had just dropped on the counter complete with a pack of screws. When they were done shoving it over and over and screwing it in place - it didn't sit flush to the face of the cabinet by a full 1/4" or more on the side with the plug wire. "Well, you'd have to cut a whole in the back of the cabinet and that's expensive and we don't do that." So, we hired our electrician to take it out and reinstall it. "They almost destroyed the cord," he said. "The out casing was almost worn through. And I didn't have to cut the cabinet. All I did was slide the cord to the side and it fit right in." Another month wasted. And good money after bad. Their sales people are rude. Their installers clearly don't know anything about the products they're installing. The repair company isn't any better (and bad mouthed Gerhard's as well). This simple purchase took 6 months just to get a non-damaged unit properly installed and we had to involve both an attorney and an outside installer. NEVER BUY FROM THEM. read more
