Not that I expect you to actually do something about this but one of your drivers almost killed my husband and I this morning twice. Oct 23 2025 at around 7:40am at Spokane and 1st Ave in Seattle he attempted to make an illegal left into on coming traffic. We honked. He flipped is off and pulled out in front of the vehicles behind my vehicle. Then again at Horton and 1st Ave he was in a right turn only lane and once the light turn green he went forward into our lane causing my husband to slam on brakes. His truck should be easily recognized with the huge crack in the windshield and the extremely illegal license plate that is rusted and has chunks missing hanging from the driver's side cab. They are ripoff/scam artists. I got in an accident and was waiting for AAA to come tow my car. Someone from Gerber towing knocked on my window and claimed to be AAA, loaded up my car, and drove off. Later AAA called me and said it wasn't them, so I called Gerber towing, only to get yelled at by the tow truck driver, who was now lying saying he never claimed to be AAA. Driving through seattle downtown this speeding mother f switched into my lane while crossing through an intersection; i had to slam my breaks and swerve right nearly hitting the car next to me. It then gassed and began speeding through lanes cutting off another car causing them to slam their breaks and continues to cut another car to make a sharp right turn at a light. Not to mention the tow truck was TOWING a car. Reckless driving; i can't believe this company is still up and running. If i had the time of day i would've taken a picture of the license plate. I merged in front of a Gerber truck in order to get into a turn lane; apparently this upset the driver and they retaliated by honking aggressively, turning into the far lane in order to cut me off as we turned the corner, and then swerving between lanes when I tried to switch lanes to avoid the truck. As that person's job literally includes driving professionally I was stunned at the aggressive and probably illegal actions. I would never recommend this towing company! They leave their gate wide open ... no lock on the entrance for those picking up their cars. Anyone can just walk in and steal your stuff. Very unprofessional staff except the women working behind the counter. I went to pick up my car and it had been ransacked and personal belongings were missing. I wonder if the tow driver had anything to do with it. He too was unprofessional. When asked about my property they had nothing to say. Be careful when using them ... your belongings will disappear as well!!! Awful company and the have no accountability for letting others, employees or not, get into your car and go thru it. This Gerber guy was going 60+ mph South on 15th Ave which is a 30mph zone cutting off multiple drivers and making me almost hit the curb on August 1, 2019 at 4:25pm. The worst. Would give 0 stars if possible. We needed a flat tire changed during this last snow storm. After we called nearly every tow company in the area, each was hours of wait time due to very high demand, or unable to pick up the phone. Gerber Towing did pick up. We described the problem, gave the address, and their response was they were on the way... and hung up. No other information on ETA or price. After 30 minutes we called back to ask when to expect them. We were told it would be another 30 minutes, then abruptly hung up on again. Gerber was not upfront about an hour wait until we had already waited 30 minutes. Every other business that responded was honest about long wait times. After another 30 minutes passed we did not expect Gerber to show up. We searched online again, and were lucky to find an available and reasonable tow business to change our flat, so we scheduled the service with them instead. Right away we called Gerber back to cancel for their No Show. The phone representative was the same person who answered and hung up on us the last two times. We told him to cancel the service. He became pushy and claimed the driver was 5 minutes away. We pressed for a price quote, and he finally said it would be $150 to change a flat tire with our own spare. I repeatedly told him No, Cancel, We don't need the service. He immediately became very angry, shouted "This is bulls***!", and refused to cancel because we didn't give enough notice. Keep in mind we were not given a true ETA for over an hour by this point, we were going to be over charged, all while we were stranded and freezing in the car at 20 degrees. I yelled back we will not accept any service from Gerber, and hung up while he continued to shout at us. He seemed to believe intimidation would keep us as customers. Was on my way into work, and the owner of the shop that this car was being towed to jump down front of me to stop traffic to get the car where he wanted it to be. I watched the guy drag this poor Saab (with seemingly no marks on it) back and forth across the curb. Not an experienced driver at all! Eeeek. Hope the owner doesn't mind the bumper being all scratched up. It sounded bad! I had locked the car at the grocery store on the way home from work. I realized the keys were left inside on the console. I called a local tow service who told us there would be a wait of two hours. My wife saw a tow truck in the store's parking lot. The driver and his passenger were exiting the store and getting into their vehicle by the time I caught up to them. When the driver learned of our predicament, he agreeably said "locked out"? He grabbed his gear and within minutes was able to maneuver the keys from the console and out of the passenger window. I did not get his name and he was not asking for any money for this service. He did say he worked for Gerber Towing. I gave him some small amount that I had and thanked him profusely for saving us on that rainy cold winter night. He thanked me for paying for his dinner! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, ROAD RAGE DRIVERS!! On 7/9/2019 at 8:55AM I witnessed one of the Gerber Towing drivers have a road rage incident against an Orange cab driver (northbound Hwy 99 south of stadiums). The tow truck driver was busy on his cell phone when the light turned green. Since other cars had already passed him, as he was still sitting at the green light texting on his phone, an Orange cab driver took his lane. This enraged the Gerber Towing driver and he spent the next 10 minutes going from the RH lane to the middle to the LH lane, cutting off cars left and right, all to punish the Orange Cab driver. Then he cut across ALL lanes of traffic going the other way, then back, then forth again and again. I saw him cut off no less than 6 cars!! People were honking at him and yelling at him. If you want to use a professional company, THIS ONE IS NOT IT !!! Choose another company as they are NOT concerned with public safety. read more

My car was impounded by this company during a snow storm. While immoral, it was technically a legal tow. What was illegal was the amount charged. In the city of Seattle tows are charged by an hourly rate and my apartment building is an 8 minute drive from Gerber's tow yard. I was charged for a two hour tow. Once I was quoted this by the gentleman at the front desk I told him that had to be incorrect because I lived so closely. I called to speak with the owner who shouted at me that he "isn't an effing taxi company who charges by time" and hung up on me though the ordinance is clearly posted on the wall of the Gerber Towing office. I paid the fee and filed for an impound hearing with the district court. I won by default on February 2, 2022 and was awarded my towing fees in the amount of $463.46. Gerber has not refunded me within the 14 day time frame stated on the judgement and the owner refuses to pay. When I call he pretends that "the owner isn't in". My transmission was damaged (on my newly purchased car) due to the careless way he hooked up and dragged my car and even when the dealership called to speak with them to clarify some information, the owner was disrespectful to the technician and refused to answer their questions. So i will have to file another civil suit. read more

Phuck this towing company! My truck was stolen in Tacoma, Wa. It was found two weeks later in Shoreline Wa. Two miles from Gerber towing. The police called the towing company instead of me. Sadly Gerber Towing got involved without my permission and towed my truck to their lousy holding area. They called me at about 2:30 pm telling me to come get my truck by 5pm or they would be charging me for another day of having my truck. Not knowing if my truck would even start or be driveable, I am supposed to drop everything and run to Shoreline in the middle of the day or be charged extra money for something that is out of my control. These fuckers have NO compassion. They have you over a barrell and stick it too you, right up your ass! These assholes charge me $500.00 to tow my truck, which was stolen only TWO MILES! TWO MILES! I had to have my car towed today because it wouldn't start. :( I have AAA so I called them and they sent out Gerber Towing. I was informed that the wait could be up to an hour as they were out on another job. The tow truck arrived in five minutes! The driver, I think his name was Ed, was very friendly and quick. He had my car attached to the tow truck and we were on the road in a matter of minutes. The truck was clean. The driver was clean and nice. He was also a careful driver, so I was not worried about my car. He even put my car into the spot I chose at my apartment complex! If I ever need a tow again (I really hope I do not) I will call Gerber Towing. read more

I have mixed feelings about this company. My car broke down at my apartment so I called to have someone tow it to a shop. When I called, the woman was rude and really frustrating to talk to. On their web page they say that their service extends to Snohomish county, where I live. She made it seem like a huge hassle to go from Shoreline to Edmonds, even though she wasn't the one that would be driving. Then, I gave her my phone number so that the driver could call when he got here and she said, "K," offering no more explanation even though I had a few more questions, and hung up. For a stressful day, she made it much more stressful and sucky. Luckily, the driver showed up in about half an hour. I didn't think he was coming because she was so uncommunicative. But he was GREAT! His name is Ben and he was so helpful, kind and understanding. He made the last bit of the ordeal so much better. He even talked to the dealership for me. I can't express how much I appreciate his help. As for price, it was very reasonable. Overall, it was really just the receptionist that was frustrating. How would you like your car towed by a company that does not have insurance!? While driving on I-5 through Seattle, my car was struck by a tow dolly being used to transport one of their tows. The car was not tied down to the equipment and pinwheeled across several lanes of traffic. Driver would not, or could not speak to me. Would not give me his information. His supervisor and the police arrived, and I finally got their info. I have since found out that they did not have insurance on their vehicle, so now I am on my own. They do everything between private towing, police calls and AAA. They also perform impounds. I used this tow company 4 years ago when my cadalitic converter was stolen at the park and ride, great service, on time. Reasonable price. Fast forward to yesterday, had to call 3 times to finally get the tow truck to my house, driver took FOREVER to get my car hooked up, the cost was horrendous, i dont believe it should cost 175 to tow a car 2.7 miles. My car broke down in a crowded grocery store parking lot today (Wallingford) and I used Gerber Towing to get the car to my mechanic in Lake City. I was worried how this would all work out but everything went very smoothly! The dispatcher was helpful and gave me an accurate time estimate (1 hour) and the tow driver was wonderful, very pleasant to deal with. He efficiently maneuvered my car into place for the hook up while allowing numerous shoppers to drive their vehicles past him--not an easy job in a small busy lot. Way overpriced. I (my own fault, I admit) locked myself out of my car. I called this location who said it would be 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, I called, and they said it would be just 15 minutes. Then after another 20 minutes calling for an eta, and the "dispatch" said it would just be 15 minutes more. Their dispatch was literally less than a mile away from me. When the guy showed up, rather than addressing my issue, he spet time talking on the phone for another 10 minutes. Finally, when my car was unlocked, he charged me $75! Gerber towing towed my electric car when it was parked illegally and damaged it when they towed it with the wrong type of tow truck. My car is flat bed tow only. The law in the state of Washington is that tow companies are required to maintain insurance that covers them for up to $50,000 damage per incident. The law further requires that when a tow company damages your car towing they are responsible for the damage. Gerber towing has been completely unresponsive to the documentation that I provided. Furthermore, they make it impossible for you to speak to anyone in authority who might be able to resolve the issue and now appear to be attempting to avoid responsibility altogether. They should not be able to tow cars for the city, County, or state if they're not going to take responsibility for the damage they cause to automobiles. There are plenty of other reputable towing companies in the area I would highly suggest using one of them and staying away from Gerber. read more

It was just after 10:00pm the night of May/14/2010, and it was pouring down rain. The guy driving the truck numbered "nine-nine" pulled out of a driveway, right in front of me, without even looking. I had to slam on my brakes to keep from plowing in to the back of him. A few miles down the road we met up at a stoplight and he had the nerve to smile and wave at me. Garry the owner is a scumbag. Staff is rude, unfriendly and flat out jerks. They illegally towed my car from a paid parking spot with a parking permit hanging from the rear view mirror. Clearly marked with the space number I was parked in. Called within 10 mins or my car getting towed. Didn't get a call back for over an hour. When they said 30 mins max for a call back. Not only did I have to multiple times just to even get a response. Garry still hasn't come down or the ONE other employee that can "release cars". Gerber was called after I totaled my car in a wreck on I-5. The driver seemed very sympathetic and sweet and I thought I had gotten really lucky. Then came the deception. First they lied to me about whether AAA would cover the tow-- they said it would be completely covered, but when I called them later to give them my member info they said they couldn't accept it because AAA doesn't cover accident tows. Then they said they would waive their storage fee to give me time for a parts company to pick it up so I could sell the wreck to cover the cost of the tow. However, after I paid the $252 for the tow they demanded that I sign over the title to my car-- something they said I had agreed to with the driver the day before-- or else they would charge me for several days' storage; $150 that I simply didn't have. They were well aware that I was vulnerable and broke and I had no choice but to give them my car-- which someone else was going to pay several hundred-- for FREE and against my will. Lastly, when I went to get my belongings out of my car the day after the accident they were exceptionally rude. There was a large bag of stuff I couldn't comfortably carry with my bruised/sore arm & chest muscles from the accident the day before. TWO employees were having a smoke break and watching me pull things out of the wreck and, when asked, refused point-blank to help me carry my things to my friend's car. I asked them if they were really ok with working for a company that takes advantage of people and they looked at each other, laughed, and said "yep." read more
