This company showed up via my GEICO roadside rescue app. I had 1% on my iPhone and my electrical in my car just stopped. No hazard lights and traffic starting to back up. They were there in 15 minutes via my app. They towed me home. William was great in listening to my story. And while this story is great the day before they came and jumped my battery, again quick and reliable. Now if they could fix my car that would be stellar. read more

I have to say most places are rude when you question things about your bill. These guys didn't they want to make sure they did things right and really made me feel like a customer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, my car was impounded due to a no D.L. and i had it full of personal belongings cause i was in the middle of moving. I went to retrieve me things the next day and everything was taken out of my car. I asked a guy on the lot "where did my tools and stuff that was in my car go" he said it was put in a safe place so it wouldn't get stolen while it was on there lot. When I asked to retrieve my items he said "the boss has the key and he's not here today. Can you come back tomorrow and I'll have it ready for you to pick up?" I assumed I had no choice and left Gerber towing. I came back the following day and Over half of my things were missing, over $1500 worth of electronics and about $2000 electronic and mechanics tools. I asked him where the rest of my stuff was and he said," that was everything that was in the car." The guy gave me a phone number written on a torn piece of paper and told me to call it and said it was the owners number. I called several times leleaving a few messages but never got any calls back. I came came back to Gerber towing some 3-4 weeks later because the city impounded another one of my vehicles. My car was still there and it was in line with others to be auctioned off. I looked inside and my tool boxes had been put back in the car but with no tools inside. I hope whoever thought they could just play grab bag gets caught and fired before they rip off the wrong person. If your vehicle gets impounded by police or the city, consider your stuff gone... Had a great experience with this towing company this morning. My car needed a tow (broke down about a block from home). They estimated they'd arrive in about 1-1/2 to 2 hours - they were here in less than an hour, very happy about that! And driver Zack was friendly, very nice! read more

Called to have FOUR illegally parked cars, in fire lanes and making it difficult to get into my apartment, taken care of, whatever that may be. Man that I spoke to was clearly smacking away on food with his mouth open and told me I'd need management to call. Then before he could finish said "I have another call." What a joke. What a joke. Found out our car had been towed by this company and took action immediately to get in back. Spoke with the owner and said we'd like to come and get the car and he said the office was closed already but that he could have someone there within the hour, so we set an appointment up. Come to find out, there was an "after hours" hidden fee of 100. Never once was this mentioned to us and when my husband tried to talk with the owner about it on the phone, he hung up on my husband. On top of that, the nice guy who met us there doesn't get paid one cent for driving out on his time, so the owners pocket that money! Talk about cheap. Worst customer service ever! Cannot even believe these nut jobs are in business. Phone manners atrocious and just total scammers. read more

If you find your car towed by this company, expect to pay an arm and a leg to get it back. People were nice enough but they automatically charge you at least $225.00 base minimum for towing plus additional bullshit items. Doesn't matter if you get towed near them. My car was towed and kept for less than 9 hours and charged $400.00. Ridiculous. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED. Just pray that you don't get towed by them. Lesson learned. read more

Gerber Towing deals with Kim's Autobody on 80th and Lake City Way. I would say, call anyone BUT Gerber for a tow. I don't know what the deal is, but according to Gerber, they have a "special arrangement" with Mr. Kim. Mr. Kim charged us 87.60 to tow our car TWO blocks after his "repairs" failed, this fee was passed on by Gerber Towing. We have free towing with our car insurance. Do I blame Gerber Towing as well? YES. I would not associate with anybody who does business with Kim's Autobody. Since Mr. Kim is a dishonest businessman I suggest anyone who works with Mr. Kim knows about his dishonesty and must condone it as well. Did Gerber Towing know that Mr. Kim held our car hostage until we arrived to pay in person? Probably not. Do they care? According to my phone conversation this morning, NO, they do not care. Neither Gerber or Mr. Kim have reimbursed us for a tow we should not have paid. Perhaps Gerber should start asking the clients they have "special arrangements" with; ARE WE HELPING YOU SCAM A CUSTOMER WITH THIS TOW? I bet they never will. read more

Never use this company unless you want to be jerked around, taken advantage of. My daughter was in a roll over accident and the city called Gerber to remove her car after she was taken to Harborview on Saturday. I called them on Saturday to try to figure out where the car was and what I needed to do. A message was taken and I was told if get a call back. Nothing. Sunday same thing, message was taken, I was told I'd get a call. Nothing. Monday I finally was able to talk to a person at the company that told me my total was almost $400. 180 for the tow and storage. I was upset because I had tried to get ahold of someone prior to this "storage" charge. I asked to speak to someone else because this guy couldn't tell me how this made sense. He said he'd have the owner call, Gary. Conveniently they were about to close and I would most likely need to wait for the next day (another charge) The next day I still haven't heard from Gary so I called again. I was told by the same guy he tried to call me. He clearly did not. I asked for a call back. Finally Gary called. I explained my frustration with this process and my concern about the charges as I had attempted to reach them prior to getting these storage charges. He proceeds to lie and tell me he attempted to call me Saturday and Sunday. When I confronted him that I knew he was deliberately taking advantage of me he proceeded to scream and call me a F'n B! My husband called them at that point and what do you know, the coward reduced the bill...slightly. This could've and should've been handled a lot different by the owner of a company. But because it ended this way everyone I know will never use this company and the city that uses his service will know how he conducted business with me and how he treated me in this extremely stressful emotional time. I will add that not everyone there was a miserable human the lady at the desk Whitney was very apologetic for this guys verbal attack. My boyfriend's car was towed out of the driveway we share with our neighbors. On Christmas Day. If that wasn't bad enough, the company they chose turned out to be one of the worst businesses I've ever come across. Absolutely terrible service. We had to call three times to get any answer as to where we needed to meet them. Once we were there, we had to wait outside in the rain until someone let us in to the cigarette smoke-filled office. We walked up to the counter and there were two people fumbling around with papers. Neither one of them acknowledged us and continued writing and looking at the computers. After about 10 minutes of being ignored, we finally interrupted to ask what was going on with the car. They asked for ID and told us that it was going to be $536. $536 for the car that was impounded for one day. Having to get your car towed is never fun, but service as awful as this only makes it worse. read more

I had my truck die at my mothers apartment when I was helping her move. Ended up leaving the truck overnight so I could figure out where to take it for repairs and what tow company to use. The shop I was taking it to recommend Gerber. I called Gerber at 9:00 AM and set up a time for them to meet me which was 3:30 PM. I leave work early so I can be there on time and then I sit and wait. It was almost 4:00 when they called me and said they did not have any drivers available but they had a guy who starts work at 5:00. I said I will find another towing company and hung up. My phone rings back and it is the man from Gerber saying it takes a lot of balls to hang up on him... I called a different company and they had a driver out in less than an hour. I will never use Gerber again and will recommend to everyone I know not to use them. read more

William from Gerber saved me today! My car broke down a few feet away from a busy intersection, and my electrical system was gone. I couldn't even use my hazard lights. I remembered that Gerber had towed for my son after an accident, so I called them. I was blocking traffic and getting honked at (not so helpful...) while I was on the phone with the dispatcher, who told me she had someone on the way. It was amazing how fast they were, especially for a Friday during rush hour. William was just great, and having a nice conversation with him during the ride calmed me down. A nice gentleman that was helping me called gerber and they were there in 5 mins, got me into my car quickly and didn't even charge me. I was very impressed and grateful.
