After calling several tow companies that afternoon we were frustrated with many vague answers on service and/or price. Finally we called Ron May Towing. We reached Lisa with their answering service. She obviously was on top of her game, asking the right questions and making good quality suggestions. She determined that we needed the special service of a "relocate" on same property. As it was not an emergency situation she advised us to call at 8 am Monday morning to get a quote from one of their relocate specialists. We called Monday morning and it couldn't have gone any smoother. Ashley of Ron May Towing gave us a solid quote and within an hour Erin showed up to move the pickup. He was very professional, backing his rig through the side gate, snatching up the vintage pickup and maneuvering it into the garage stall with great skill. A man called me later that morning to say to come by with a key and they'll take a look at it on Monday and call me with an estimate. I never get a call with an estimate, when I called to check on my car, I was simply told they had found and fixed the problem and it would cost about $200. After paying $120 for a battery (What is that, 100% markup?!) plus $75 for labour, they said the car was ready to pick up. Took the bus there, drove my car less than 1 mile, AND THE CAR DIED AGAIN!! They hadn't diagnosed it properly and simply assumed it was the battery! They towed the car back and ended up charging me an additional $300 (including tax) for a new ignition coil (again... 100% markup?!) and labour. We don't believe it would have cost us $500 if they would have found the problem the first time. They also wasted our time to bus there - once only to fork over $200 and have the car die right after then have to walk the rest of the way home, then bus back hours later just to pay another $300. After this experience, I would say avoid Gus Coopers Services because they wasted my time and I felt over they overcharged me for the parts.
