I had an issue with my brakes. I technically could have driven two miles to my Les Schwab but I was hesitant; and not being more than a novice when it comes to vehicle knowledge I didn't want to risk it. I relayed my situation to Micheal, who also happens to be the owner, and he gave me my estimate of cost for tow including time. He was on schedule, professional plus cordial. The other tow companys tried to take advantage knowing I was in a pinch and upcharge me. You can tell the other tow co were full of just fast talkers trying to upsell. Called Mike on an emergency pick-up last week because the previous towing service bailed on me the very last minute. I had everything scheduled and a long haul from Everett to Pacific, WA (60 miles one-way). Mike was great and immediately acknowledged my pick-up early the next morning and stayed in touch with me all the way until I jumped into his awesome rig! Wish there were six or even seven stars! We got stuck with (what we found out later at the mechanic's place) a broken water pump, and when it went sideways, it displaced the belt that made the power steering go round and round ... and we possibly had a leak in the radiator (but won't know until tomorrow when we pick up the car) I first called Dick's Towing ... don't bother. They told me a truck would be there within the hour. At an hour and about 15 minutes I called back, asking when they thought the truck would be here. I was put on hold ... waited, waited, waited, waited some more ... finally the lady came back to tell me that it would be TWO MORE HOURS! Darling ... it's 90 degrees outside, we're stuck at the Jiffy Lube on Broadway and 37th in Everett where there are NO trees, NO green grass, NO shade (to speak of) and we're dying. D'ya think that when they realized they'd be another couple of hours they could have CALLED US? At any rate ... if you have a choice, don't call Dick's. CALL EVERETT TOWING! Michael ... what a guy. Gave me the EXACT amount of time we'd have to wait, showed up on time, helped my husband get in and out of the truck (my husband is a little wonky on his feet because of poor health), and kept us laughing the whole ride down to our mechanic's place (which, by the way, is Doc's Automotive on Bothell Everett Hwy and 180th ... honest, truthful and will bend over backwards to help people) We had a rocky start to the day but because of Michael at Everett Towing and Doc over at Doc's Automotive, it ended really well. My car was broken into and the person broke some things on the inside of the car. The area around the ignition was torn off and I wasn't sure if the car was still running or not. I decided to call a tow truck to take it into a shop instead of driving myself, just in case something was wrong with the car. When Michael came, he looked around and said that there might not be anything wrong. He jump-started the car since it was dead and said that it's not worth it to take it into the shop since the broken pieces were easy to fix. He also only charged me for the jump-start and overall saved me probably a few hundred bucks from trying to get it fixed. Michael was super friendly and informative. If you need towing service, this is the place to call! I called quite a few places and got some really shit & over the top pricing. Some places I left messages with and until this day have NOT received a call back. I understand I called on a Sunday...but my god, today is Tuesday. How unprofessional are they? I called and spoke with Michael, said he only had 1 guy at the moment working (it was a Sunday). He promised a truck to come out to us a.s.a.p. , but no later than 7pm. I explained my situation, we needed to have our '64 C10 towed to a friends place. 6pm came around and it turns out his guy was still pretty far away & out on a tow. He must have sensed my urgency, because he cut his trip short and came out himself. Hauled our old baby away on a FLAT BED, not to mention cut me a really great deal! Michael was efficient and kind! My destination was about 12 miles from where we got picked up. He calculated the cost for me after clearly breaking down what the flat rate and each additional mile would cost. I had my two year old daughter with me when my car died out right after exiting the freeway. Not only did he get my car loaded up to take to the auto shop, but as a auto-technician himself... and with me not knowing anything about cars... he gave me some genuine advice on dealing with Les Schwab and auto mechanics in general (I really appreciated that).
