wow, jim's northgate towing did a superlative job moving 7 of my cars from one garage to another. each car had it's own special challenges (brakes locked up, or 4 wheel drive, or almost too tall for the garage) while navigating the spiral egress of the from-garage. Darin specifically did a masterful job of getting each car out, using a different type of truck depending on the circumstance, and dropping off each at the destination in good stead. i especially appreciated their flexibility in the scheduling of the second batch of cars to move on a different day (they would have been happy to move all 7 in one day) when the to-garage had to do in 2 separate sessions. Jim's northgate towing/darin was amenable and agile when we were given the word to move the second batch. i couldn't be happier with the whole experience. i highly recommend and will absolutely use again and again! read more

Wish I could give this a 0 star as it is much deserved. I temporarily parked my trailer & truck off of the main road for less than 5 min to view the apartment complex across the street to be rudely greeted by a female that chose to yell & berate me when I apologized for parking where it was not permitted. Then a guy came out of the building to continue to yell at me & so the same. This behavior was unacceptable & out of line as they were both rude & way out of line. read more

I had a flat tire and couldn't get the jack out of my trunk, so I called Big D towing and they turned me over to their affiliate, Jim's Northgate Towing. The contact person at Big D was friendly and helpful. Driver came out in about half an hour. Victor was very polite. Introduced himself first thing and got me set up. Removed tire quickly and got my spare on. Helped me reinstall the floor lid and get some stuff I'd had to remove back into my car. Advised me about tie rod, possible rim repair, and insurance. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Victor was a real professional: courteous, HELPFUL attitude, and professional. I wish every tow driver was as good as he is. read more

My boyfriend's car was towed here. I didn't get the specifics, but he told me they charged him $850 to get his car out. On the way out of the dark office, another tow truck driver came in and accused my boyfriend of stealing his wallet. He then brandished a knife and threatened him. He didn't want to get stabbed so he gave him the cash in his wallet (on top of the $850 they already swindled from him). My car was towed from a private lot when I was told it was okay to park there but they did not own the property when I made contact with Jim's Northgate towing they explained everything to me and let me explain my situation and took the time to show me what I needed to know to understand where I went wrong and what I can do as options to go about getting my car back. It took me a second but they worked with me and I got my car back. These guys look like they'd be mean and rough but they actually were incredible with my situation and working with me when they didn't have to. And unfortunately I've had to deal with another tow company in the summerland area which was a disaster and unorganized. Wish I could give a negative star. I had the most horrendous experience with this Towing company. I had called for jump start my car. The guy who came to do the service was rude. He intimated, yelled, harassed and petrified me. I was never shaken more than this in my life and took a week to shrug off this scary experience and honestly I would never get over it. These scammer towers LOVE towing UW students on Friday evenings. The problem with is that they are closed after 5pm and closed on weekends. Not to mention the lot they took my car too was about 25-30 minutes away. My car was unfortunately towed at 4:30pm Friday and I had to pay $100 extra (they call it a "late fee") making it a $400 tow. When I first called Jims hotline the employee was extremely rude and unwilling to answer all my questions. The problem with this is that I have to suck up to these people as I'm basically at their mercy to retrieve my car. After pay for my Uber and arriving at the lot it was clear to me that the "late hours" employee was on something. My car sat on their lot for maybe 1-1.5 hour but of coarse, I get charged for a full day of storage in there lot. Personally, I wouldn't call it a secure tow lot, more like a junkyard with trashed cars and no lights. I point that out because part of my fee was as the employee put it "because my car touched his lot" which makes a whole lotta sense. After shelling out ~$400 I made a huge mistake and didn't inspect my car before I drove off the lot. The employee actually wanted me to leave as soon as I paid for it and come to find out I have underbelly scratches on my car from the tow hoist! I didn't find this out in time to make these intoxicated workers held accountable! I truly hope the B.B.B comes and shuts you down along with your other two tow lots down!!! read more

When you unexpectedly find yourself high-centered in a ditch during STORMPOCALYPSE 2016, these are the guys you want to come to rescue you. We called at about 11 pm, and the truck arrived in less than 30 minutes. The driver (I wish I got his name) was professional, courteous and efficient. In less than 20 minutes he had my truck out of the ditch and even re-parked it in the driveway so I could actually get out without ending up in the ditch again. The price was totally reasonable, and with our business done, he was off into the night like some kind of superhero, en route to save another damsel in...well, in a ditch. I got an empty U-Haul truck stuck in someone's side yard on a hill. I called Seattle City Towing and after 45 minutes they could not get the truck out. They charged me $302. for NOTHING. Next morning, I called Jim's Northgate Towing to come out and give me a quote. He quoted $200 and said "If I can't get it out, I won't charge you anything". Well, it took him nearly an hour, but he got the truck out and charged me $200 per his agreement. SUPER knowledgeable towing man and very NICE. PEOPLE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY! THIS TOWING COMPANY WORKS LIKE A BANDITS! In the middle of the night, they are towing cars from the private property saying that the authorized person called them, BUT they can disclose the information who exactly called them. BECAUSE IT IS NOT TRUE!!!! They towed my car at 2:30 am from the apartment complex guest parking. The spot had no assigned number and the proper sign "No parking/Tow zone". This spot assigned to the guest. We called Jim's Northgate at 3:00 am. The guy on the phone said that if we want to pick up the car now, we need to pay 100$ after-hours fee. He said:  "come tomorrow morning, the cost will be 210$".   We came at 10:00 am, the office was close. According to their sign, their working hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Saturday. We called the number again. The guy on the phone was rude and impolite. Ended up waiting 30 min by the entrance. After that, the whole fun begins. Instead of paying $209.47 + $15(city fee) + tax, I was forced to pay ~$400. They illegally charge us $99 for an after-hours fee. By the way, their sign doesn't state their closer on Saturday. Their Google, as well as their website, states that they open 24/7 - 7 days a week. Basically, picking up your car right away or the next day wouldn't make any difference. Anyway, you have to pay $400. In addition, Jim's Northgate violated customer rights completely: Civil Infractions: 1. Jim's Northgate employee intimidated with extra fees and provide incorrect information Jim's Northgate employee told us, that if we don't want to pay extra fees now, such as after-hours fee and the storage fee. We can come on Monday and pay double. This is not true, according to the law, the tow company can only charge for one-day storage, no weekend/after-hours fee can be applied.   2.  Refused to provide the receipt. I had to argue with an employee for 5 min in order to get the receipt 3.   Jim's Northgate employee tried to force sign a document promising not to dispute the validity of the tow or fees assessed or relieving the tower from responsibility for the condition of the vehicle or its contents. According to section 6.214.260 - Unlawful Acts, part B Civil Infractions (ref: https://library.municode.com/wa/seattle/codes/municipal_code?nodeId=TIT6BURE_SUBTITLE_IVNELICO_CH6.214TOCOLIRE_6.214.210TOCOOPRE) ILLEGAL to Require any vehicle owner or operator to make any statement or sign any document promising not to dispute the validity of the tow or fees assessed or relieving the tower from responsibility for the condition of the vehicle or its contents. 4. Unappropriate rude behavior of an employee.  People, my suggestion to you, if you got into this kind of situation: RECORD everything. You have the right too! I called Jim's Northgate towing. But the billing was through Big D towing. So, I"m not exactly sure how all that works. My car would not start, it was pouring down rain and I was at the Northgate park n ride about 6:30 on Wednesday evening. Jim said he was on I-5 and he would send someone to get me. The guy showed up about 20 minutes later and managed to figure out that my battery was not the problem. He was nice and got the job done. I felt like he was straight forward. We parked my car on the street, which required some maneuvering. He performed it very smoothly. I was happy with this service. I have not had to use towing before. My bill was $165 to get from Northgate to 76th and Aurora. I'm not sure if that is a reasonable amount or not. It seemed high to me, but what could I do at this point? I didn't ask about pricing, I was very upset at the situation I was in with my car. I just wanted someone to come and get me and get me home safely. Which is exactly what happened. I am going to have to have my car towed again. this time, I will check on the pricing. I will be a more knowledgeable user of towing services in the future (unfortunately)... Jim's arrived very quickly. Treated me with kit gloves and got me home safely. For that, I am truly thankful. the pricing piece of this has more to do with my lack of knowledge as a user of services. read more

The worst towing company to deal with ever. Rude after I was in an accident- provided no information when I asked the driver for even a card to know where the car was going. Called the office and asked questions and was talked over, questions were unanswered and spoke to in a condescending manner. Evening before Christmas Eve (2021) my car broke down right at the gas pump. Through my insurance app I requested towing, which (even after about 90 minutes never showed up). Stressed, frozen, disappointed, I called Jim's Towing. Was told someone will be at my location between 15 -30 minutes. In 15 minutes a towing truck showed up. Mark (I believe was his name), the driver, was amazing!!! I will never forget the way he assured me that everything will be fine, he was utmost polite and professional and assured I immediately got into their warm truck. I felt I was in heaven! So grateful for people like Mark and businesses like Jim's Towing. This was third time I used Jim's Towing in last 30 years. I am very pleased and will use their service again, if need be. One of the worst experiences ever! Following a tow they offered (over the phone) to change the the blown out tire but when I got there they rudely and aggressively proclaimed that they were not changing the tire. Then all the "yard men" began snickering, swearing and giving us nasty looks. Even had to call another tow company to change the tire in their lot. FILED A POLICE REPORT--DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. my car got towed bc the alarm was going off (some random electrical problem). they towed it and when I contacted them they mentioned that people had also been going through the car. I talked to security at the place that called for it to get towed and they said that no one had seen anyone go in it. when I got to my car things were stolen. I told the guys working there that the stories didn't match up and that i didn't trust them at all. once I said that they didn't make any eye contact and and continued to lie. on top of that the prices are ridiculous and I got charged for things that weren't stated on my receipt. horrible service, these guys are scum balls read more

There I was, after midnight, stuck in an intersection as only Lake Forest Park can conjure up (37th, 35th, 202nd and 40th all coming together in one place - explain THAT to the "Roadside Assistance" person in Tucson...) in a 62 year old car 13 miles out of a 9 year restoration - and with a dead fuel pump... After a false alarm from another company, Mark with Jim's Northgate shows up to rescue me. Mark was kind, appreciated the amount of work and money he was looking at and treated this car with kid gloves. Just a few minutes later, the car was nicely IN my garage with not a scratch or bit of dust on it. I am very grateful for his expertise and skill - on top of the fact that he was just a nice professional person. Only here to 2 star because my rear-wheel drive 1993 Mercury Cougar was drug out of a parking spot from the front wheels while the car was in park. There is visible evidence that the parked rear wheels were drug more than 15 feet. I didn't check any further then that easy to spot line. Transmission is probably toast now. Not here to blame the company for my car being towed, it is the fault of who ever called the tow company and had it towed of false-violation. And I hit an extra star for the nice staff to lookup the paperwork if they had the car. read more

I showed my registration, paid the gentleman, and was able to drive away. For that part of the business I give them 5 stars! They were friendly, helpful, and got out VERY quickly. I locked my Key's in my old car and needed to get back to work in a hurry, tried going through my insurance company at first and what a joke and a waste of 25 mins, ETA was going to be over an hour!! Won't try that again! Saw the Jim's Northgate Towing sign in the parking lot and decided to call them. They were quick to pick the phone and get my info, told them I was in a hurry and they said they would dispatch someone right away. I called AAA the other night and this was who they sent out to service my flat tire. The man they sent, David was super sweet, quick and knowledgeable. I will never use this company again. The driver was not friendly, left me standing at the auto repair without even asking if I had a ride home. Then my husband tossed the towing bill thinking we didn't have towing on our insurance plan. I have now written twice and called once to get a copy. I was told that everything was done manually and it would take a couple of weeks to get a copy. Really, takes 2 weeks to pick up a monthly folder and find a bill and make a copy. I don't think so. It was been 2 1/2 months and still no bill. Something does not seem right! My husband used Mary's towing recently and I would highly recommend them. Response was quick, driver was extremely nice and offered us a ride home. We will never use or recommend Jim's towing!!! read more

Wow, this was a very unfortunate experience. One of my interns, a young single woman, had her car stolen 4 days ago and it was finally located on someone's property. The owner then had it towed by Jim's Northgate towing. When they contacted her to, they said her current charge was $279 to tow it a short distance and it was going up $30 every few hours. Wow! Really? Ok, so I called for her and spoke with an exceptionally rude man by the name of Rusty. Not only did he put me on hold in the middle of our conversation twice without telling me he was doing so, he said he "didn't need the guilt trip" about her situation and he wasn't discounting anything. When I asked for the owners information, he refused to give it, so I asked for the manager and he wouldn't give me his name or number either and said he was out till next week "but it didn't matter since they weren't going to do anything either." Seriously, all I was asking was whether or not they could help her out by cutting her a bit of a break so she could get her car back. Mind you, this young woman is not making money as an intern and has limited resources. Had he simply said "no" that would have been fine, but to treat a customer so rudely and refuse to give them information to your supervisor is scary. My suggestion is that the owner or manager has a sit down with Rusty and give him some basic skills on etiquette and customer service. Could have gone a long way, instead he burned a bridge with an entire staff that will NEVER use their service. read more

Our car was towed by Day and Nite towing. My bill came under the name of Jim's Northgate towing. The car is a subaru which is all wheel drive. They towed the car with two wheels on the ground potentially damaging the drive train. In addition we have a video tape of the driver threatening to fuck up the car because he was annoyed that some guys were giving him a hard time about mishandling the car. When we arrived to pick up the car the windows had been left down soaking the inside of the car and the key was broken. We requested a refund of the $350 towing fee since they had potentially caused thousands of dollars in damage to the car and their driver vandalized the car by leaving the windows down and breaking the key read more

Had a horrible experience with this towing company. When my wife and I called to ask about towing a car that was blocking our garage, the representative immediately became hostile and refused to help without asking for any additional information such as our location. We called them because their number and sign was clearly posted in the parking lot. When asked about their sign, they told us to call another company and outright refused to assist in anyway. If there was some misunderstanding, it in no way explains the person's behavior which was extremely rude. read more
