Gerber in Renton. These folks did us right - especially Sandy the estimator. My family is so grateful. Due to a minor accident, we were forced to have our wheelchair van repaired, which for us is a really big deal. Our adult daughter is severely disabled and 100% dependent on us. That van is our lifeline to her medical appointments and day program. Not to mention work and errands if one of us isn't home to be with her. Two weeks, the bare minimum time that's typically required for the kind of repair we needed, might as well be forever. Try renting a wheelchair van - places don't have them. Accessible taxis? So expensive. I called ahead dreading to ask for special treatment. We're used to being dismissed by most people in the corporate world. It's not personal. People on the job just don't have any incentive to help us when we need it. We're mostly invisible to folks -- not worth extra effort. Gerber and Sandy (and Cora) are the opposite. They didn't just listen to us, they saw us, understood, and then went above and beyond. They pushed us to the front of the line (sorry to everyone who had to wait extra because of us) and turned our van around in record time. It's so rare. I just can't thank them enough. They gave us a huge gift that went beyond car repair, and were a bright spot in our fulfilling but challenging lives. read more

The technical / mechanical quality of the services completed are top notch. There was a recent missed task during a recent service (back in Feb 25'), and I was able to just swing by and they fixed it on the spot. I would say, however, work with Cora at the front. A guy was stumbling around the Fred Meyer parking lot and ran into the front fender leaving one large and one small hand-print size dents. Paint was Okay so it was an excellent candidate for paintless dent repair. If it was under $1,000 we would just write a check. If over, get the insurance company involved. Nope, it's required to get the insurance company involved no matter what. No thank you. On line, you must first agree to a lengthy agreement giving them breathtaking license to everything in your and your family's life. No thank you. Just to get an damage estimate? Sorry, I'd have to pay $750 or more to have an attorney review your "privacy agreement" only to be told to drop the document into the shredder. read more

I was side swiped and every panel of the passenger side was affected, including the rims. The work was done quickly and well. They kept me up to date the entire two weeks and made drop off and pick up easy. Not sure why their reviews are so bad, but whatever was going wrong in the past doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I spoke with a man asking how much they charge to do recalibration on windshield. Now, keep in mind, GERBER is Subaru certified prefer repair center. The agent told me that they don't do recalibration to the Forester Eyesight and can't give me a quote. Giving, most places don't just do one or the other so I asked how much to get windshield replace and calibration? The agent then told me, "We don't do recalibration for your specific car and you will need to take it elsewhere." I was confused since they are Subaru certified. He added, "This typical job for us is $1890 for other car with eyesight." I'm confused... all Subaru eyesight are the same and function the same (Subaru confirmed.) the dealership charged $1200 plus tax for everything. I then contacted a mom and Pop store that can order OEM glass for $400 and pay dealership to do calibration of $350. I do not suggest gerber for windshield and after this experience, I don't wants to bring my car in for repair on my accident a few days ago. Stay away from this big corp place and go to your mom and pop glass repair center! read more

My hatchback was hit by a much larger Ford truck and damage was to rear panel and tail light. I found the staff here to be professional, personable, inventive, and as accommodating at the situation allowed. I enjoyed working with them. The feedback loop (a text twice a week) was excellent, so I kept up on status easily. They also seemed to work seamlessly with the car rental company. The bodywork was great and car looks like new. (I was warned that repair time could be quite a while, & it was - but I found that to be true with all such providers in these times, due to staff shortages.) Overall, they performed very well. Insurance referred me to Gerber for a front end collision repair in 2018. I had a large metal brush guard that was off the truck at the time because I was repainting it. It was a low on my task list to paint, but I finally finished it in Aug. 2019, about a year after the repairs. The brackets didn't like up 100% so I thought I'd call and see if Gerber could do some minor tweaks to align the aftermarket brackets. They agreed without hesitation. Brought it in and was on the road in less than 20 minutes with the brush guard mounted and no charge. Definitely recommend. Very personal service. Place is always busy so sometimes takes a week to get on the schedule, but worth the wait. read more

NEVER COME HERE!!!! Following a hit & run that resulted in damage to my Dodge. My insurance referred me to Gerber Collision & Glass on Rainier Avenue. On February 22, 2018 - I took my car in for repair and I was provided with a rental car from the 22nd until the 28th. Upon my return, I noted that several things were wrong with my car. 1) the exterior was splashed with grit from the sand blaster were they failed to cover my car for protection. 2) my brand new LED lights that I purchased were removed and basic headlights put in. 3) the idle is much faster than previous. 4) All six windows are covered with the grit as well. 5) Grease covering all the interior. 6) The inside is completely filthy! 7) All my paperwork history of repair and upkeep for my vehicle were taken as well. I am totally pissed as I was referred here by my insurance and Gerber did a horrible, crappy job! I have always taken excellent care of my vehicles as I rely on my car to carry my family, get to and from work, etc. I am a car connoisseur and have always been keen on the little details of vehicles (especially that of my own). With the exception of the front fender, my car was in mint condition. After Gerber, it's not the car I had! NEVER EVER COME HERE!!!! read more

I'm amending my first review for Gerber Collision. After I posted my negative experience, Stephanie contacted me immediately trying to help correct the problem. She steered me to another location that promptly completed the installation of missing parts. Although my car was broken into on their property and they have no legal responsibility to replace any stolen items, Stephanie coordinated with Gerber to send me some gift cards to help alleviate the burden of filing an insurance claim and paying a deductible. This is the type of service customers look for and I'm glad they did the "right thing" here and this type of customer service will be shared with everyone I come in contact with! I went to several collision repair shops in the Renton and Kent area and Gerber was the lowest quote. The customer service was outstanding and they communicated with me and kept me updated during the entire process. The repairs looked great and my car looked like new! It's taken a few weeks for me to post this, but I do NOT recommend this Gerber location for the following reasons: - Estimated time of the damage to my car (that I did by running into a small pole barrier) was told to me as being 4 to 5 business days. It was over a month! - Communication was horrible -- and couldn't tell what was the automatic generic communication from whatever system they use, or the personal updates from the local shop. Regardless - it was horrible. - About one week into my repair, I was excited when John, I believe he was the one assigned to my car, called to say my car would be ready by the end of the day.... it was in detail at the moment. I couldn't get there that day, so I took care of it the next day - - turned in my rental car and had them take me to the shop to pick up my car. Checked in at the front desk, and John heard me and asked me right away if I had turned in my rental car - and I said YES, he's driving away now. John hightailed it to run after my rental -- as they had notified the wrong owner of the car!! MY CAR WAS NOT READY YET. For goodness sake -- had to get my Insurance back on board to re-open my claim and get rental covered again..... Huge hassle but thank goodness Enterprise Rental Car was so easy to work with. - I was just frustrated. At that point, keep my car for how ever long you need..... just get it done right. When I picked up my car, it was filthy inside -- honestly a layer of dust on the dash board and in my console, but I just wanted to be done with Gerber. Oh year - they did attach a $100 gift card to my receipt, so that was nice. But doesn't make up for the horrible service. read more

Avoid this location! I had my car repaired here after an accident in Renton. It took them much longer than expected, and initially, they didn't tell me that it would be taking a week longer than the expected date. I had to contact their corporate to begin getting information about my car. It took roughly three weeks to get my car repaired (it was a fairly minor fender bender). In addition, when they returned the car, I noticed that a thick black grease was smeared in the interior of the car (on the windows, steering wheel, shifter, and a few other places). read more

Let me start this review by saying, if I could give zero stars I would. I got rear-ended on a busy street, by a car that was going at least 50 mph right before I was leaving for vacation. After coming back from vacation, I set up appointments to get an estimate with a few places my insurance referred me to. The soonest I could get in was with Gerber Collision in Renton. Linda at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and efficient. So I guess my one star can be for her great help. I received my estimate, contacted my insurance, then set up a time to drop off my vehicle. Once I dropped off my vehicle, I thought everything would be fine and I would see my car in about a week. A few days later Jimmy, the shop manager, called me and asked if I could come in and talk about my car. We set up a time, and I came in. My car got hit seven years ago, and I had my car serviced somewhere else. The shop manager, Jimmy, explained to me that some of the damage on my car was from my previous accident and he would not be able to continue fixing it. He went on to say that it's my fault for not going back to the previous shop and checking their work, but how could I know since "I'm just a girl." When I heard him say that, I was in complete shock. He was judging me and thinking I lack knowledge because I am a female. I am completely surprised that someone who is in management could make such a derogatory and SEXIST comment. read more

UPDATED 10/16: Okay, now I feel bad because I guess I jumped the gun a little and let the world know on Yelp about my experience before contacting Gerber to fix the issue, which I'm sure they actually would have gladly done, had I called them. I was promptly contacted by Jessica this morning after my review posted. After she figured out who I was, Jimmy from the shop called me to set up a time to bring my car in to get looked at. Jimmy was the one that actually helped fix my door last time, he was quick and helpful then too. That time, I showed up without an appointment and he had someone fix it on the spot as they were about to head out to lunch! I wish I had worked with him from the beginning, because he gets stuff done. He took my car in, had the panel placed back on correctly and I was out the door within 45 minutes. He even had the guys vacuum out the whole car and offered a wash, but I had to get going, and what's the point of washing your car when it's about to rain? I guess the service advisor that had previously helped me is no longer there? If she isn't, I can kind of see why. First, before writing my review, I should have contacted them, but at the same time, they should have inspected their work before me even coming to pick up the car, so no point to play the blame game I guess. If I ever need to get my car repaired again, I may bring it back here because they are pretty quick and convenient. I'll just be sure to check the work before I leave next time! ---------------------------------------------------- Previous review: Had some work done here 11/2015 to replace a window after my car was broken into and pried open, they decided my door latch needed to be replaced too, and just billed it to my insurance. Communication was good....while they had my car. After I tried to contact them to follow up on some stuff that needed minor adjustments, it takes forever to reach a person. I guess that is not their fault, they use a central call center or something to help route calls, schedule appts, etc. Makes it easier for small offices. It's just a little frustrating when you want to get directly in contact to the person that was helping you. For some reason, my door did not close correctly. I don't get in the back ever, but I open and close for my son and noticed it seemed to "catch" on something or the insides were not lining up. You would have to slam it extra hard. After about a month, I brought it back, they pounded something with a hammer, fixed it on the spot. Month or so later, I noticed the inside panel did not line up correctly to the window. I'm sure it was like that since they fixed it, but I really never get in the back, so I never noticed and my son never said anything. It's almost a year later, I noticed probably 2 months after I got it fixed, but just trying to call them is such a hassle, that it keeps slipping my mind. Did a thorough search of my back seat tonight because somebody possibly lost their wallet and asked me to check, seriously came up with a handful of glass that was just hanging out in a little dip under the backseat. I thought this crap was supposed to be vacuumed out. Not sure how they can get away with such sloppy jobs read more

Terrible. I do NOT recommend. 1. So they chipped the paint on my car (not near the collision damage). When I got my car back, the paint was chipped in two different spots on my car (several inches!) and it was NOT there before I took my car in! They use harsh chemicals or are too abrasive when they work on it. My car was in worse condition after I got it back!! I am furious that they chipped paint on my vehicle!!!! 2. The fender that they repaired didn't quite line up with the adjacent parts. The aesthetic is terrible. 3. My car smelled like *bleach* when I got in. So overwhelming, I had to drive with both windows down (in 30 degree weather). The bleach (and whatever other harsh chemicals they were using) took the finish off my interior!!! And left a powder dusting over my dash and console. Why would they use harsh chemicals that ruin the finish?? 4. They used half a tank of gas while they had my car. Although they are polite, their terrible service speaks for itself. Please DON'T GO! read more

If I could give zero stars..i would have! I went to Gerber to get an estimate on my car that just had a scratch and small dent from pulling out of my garage. The estimate came to a total of $2400. The gentleman that gave my estimate told me my car had to be buffed then repainted with a "special white" paint that BMW uses. In addition, he also said that a certain part had to be taken off and put back on to fix the dent. Absolutely RIDICULOUS since I took my car to another auto shop near by and they only charged me $20. Come to find out..no re-paint needed just a nice buff, and a slight tug on the dent..my car looks like it did when I first bought it. read more

I tried set an appointment to get my windshield fixed two times with Gerber Glass. The first time they were going to come my work but I work with kids and told them I will return their confirmation call within 30 minutes. I cannot be teaching and also looking at my phone constantly. So I called back and left a voicemail and never heard anything back anyone at Gerber. I thought it would be easier if I was just at home and not at work so the next week I got someone to sit in for me on Friday morning so I made an appointment for today and was told it would be done before noon. At 9am no confirmation call still so I called them and they told me my eta at 1:00pm. I said that will not work because I changed around my work schedule to be home at until noon to better suit Gerber Glass and that I have to be at work at 1:00. They confirmed that there was a note on my account for an am appointment. No one said sorry, no one tried to reschedule with me or give me a "we messed up" discount. Nada. All they said was "well our technician is down south right now so there is no way he can get to you." Really poor customer service. read more

I used to recommend this place to anyone that needed body work on their car. I will no longer do that. I had my front grill on my car repaired by these folks and was greatly appreciated by the quick turn around with repairs completed the next day. However when I picked up my car the following day in the evening after work they still had markings on my bumper from when they noted info for themselves. I therefore had to wait for them to move my car to a corner of their lot for the detail guy to wash it off. Their lot is very small and you can barely move cars in and out. After I picked up my car I went home which is less than a mile away. The next morning I drove to work and while driving at a higher speed of 40mph I herd and felt something spinning out my wheel. I called Gerber and they stated to bring my car back in for the manager to ride to hear the noise. When I got off of work I went straight to Gerber and the gentleman that assisted me with my car (John) came out and asked where the noise was coming from. I informed him that I went straight home and didn't hear anything on my short trip home then on the way to work at a higher speed I could hear and feel the difference. He looked at the front wheel then the back and noticed a screw in my rear tire. I informed him that the screw wasn't there prior to me bringing my car to them and he said nothing. I then asked what they would do and he said that this didn't come from their lot. Because "he would have herd it while driving the car". Mind you you cannot go even 5mph in their lot because you have to maneuver through the cars. I told him once again that this was not there and I herd and felt it at a higher speed. He then told me that Les Schwab or Firestone could fix my tire. They were not taking any responsibility for this what so ever. I took my car straight to firestone and thank God it was repairable I paid $22 for the repair and went home. All in all I will never recommend this facility anymore which is very sad. If you get your car done here make sure you do a complete walk around and check of your car prior to leaving their lot. They do not take responsibility for something so simple. read more

Jessica, I spoke to you over the phone, and I know you will be reading this too. I hope you really can set this shop straight and don't let them send any car back to any customers with more damages than they originally came in with. It's a headache and waste of time back and forth 5 times going to the Renton location, and they still were unable to repair the damages Gerber Renton caused on my car. And now insurance is having another body shop repainting the car again. I Deeply REGRET letting Gerber Renton to do any work on my car. The original damage was on the passenger door, they did an awful job repainting it, there were dust trapped under the paint and it's raised up like grains, and it looks dull. when i take it to other body shops, they were surprised how any shop would let a car leave the shop with paint job done horribly like that. First time when Gerber Renton told me the work was done, I drove home and looked at my car in my garage with white light, there was marks all over my car like it was plastic melted in the paint on the rest of the car body that didn't even need to be repainted or touch. So I contacted the agent Tamara, n she said to bring it back they will fix that. They said when they unwrapped the undamaged body with plastic ready for baking the paint on the door, they didnt remove it properly, so plastic was baked along with the paint. Tamara said it's an easy fix. When I got the car back the 2nd time, there was tons of visible swirls marks all over the car, there were some surface areas that was rough to touch, on top of that, the plastics marks were still there on the paint. So I took it back the 3rd time addressing the problems, asked them what they did to try to remove the plastics, Tamara said they buffer it with compounds. But she and the painter denied the swirls was caused by them buffering with the compounds, and said the compounds they used is very gentle and won't cause scratches or damage to clear coat, however, they couldnt explain why the circle swirls were in pattern looking like nothing but from a buffering movement. anyways, said they would fix it again. So the 4th time, I showed up in the morning at the shop, saw my car in so called detailing shop, my car was completely covered in dust, they said It's Not ready to leave the shop yet, so I just went to take a look at my car up close. They put a little ding on the back panel , and chipped a little paint and put a drop of touch up paint there, I literally freaked out and called my insurance. Immediately, I asked Tamara what's that all about, she said she doesn't know. Then the painter again answered he doesn't know. And the worst thing is the plastics marks they left on my car paint are still there!!!! The 5th time, Insurance asked me to give another Gerber location a chance to fix it, but when I got my car back from Gerber Kent, they took care of the ding and all the swirl marks but the plastics are still there on the paint.... Apparently, both Gerber locations dont have the right lighting or set up to see the problems all over the roof and the rest of the car body. It's unbelievable when i told them i need them to fix all the problems they caused on my car, but every time I went back there, gerber renton just caused more problems on my vehicle. every time they said the car is ready, and every time it's indeed nowhere near alright. read more

I went through my insurance company for a claim to replace my windshield. I was told when the glass was in they would call me to setup an appointment. I received a call from Brenda at Gerber America on 11/15/16 with an update that the glass was ordered and should arrive 11/17/16, and to please call back to schedule an appointment. I called and setup an appointment for Saturday 11/19/16 for them to come to my home. Since I would be gone all day Saturday running errands, they said all I need to do is leave my car unlocked in the driveway. Well today is 11/19/16 and when I came home at 2pm my car windshield was not replaced and to find out that the Gerber employee didn't schedule me after all. After being on hold 3 times and transferred to dispatch, they explained to me again that nobody knows why I wasn't scheduled, although it clearly states in the notes the time and day of when the repair would be done. Their best answer is "well our next available time is next Tuesday". I told Rosa from dispatch to cancel everything, if you can't do a simple job of entering in customer appointments into your computer system, why would I trust your business to do the hard work of replacing my windshield? You guys are a joke and there are plenty of people on yelp who agree. I don't know how you are still in business with this poor excuse of customer service and incompetent workers! Josh was my contact person throughout the entire process, and he was super efficient, sending daily text updates on the progress of my car collision repair. They used only Subaru parts. Not impressed at all. "New" hood, fender, front bumper cover. Paint sucks....had to have them repaint the fender. I spotted the crappy paint coverage at night while doing the initial inspection. Paint still looks bad. If you want it obvious that you had your car repaired, bring it here. The new plastic tray under the engine turned out to be from a salvage yard & still covered in oil from the previous leaking engine. Nice surprise for me on the oil change. My vehicle was rear ended and my rear bumper needed to be replaced. It is great that Gerber is open on Saturdays, since that allowed me to get a quote really quickly and conveniently. After some initial miscommunication, the repair process went fast and I was informed promptly of the progress of the repairs. Gerber ordered the parts before I dropped off the car in order to speed up the repairs. I am happy with the quality of the work on my new bumper. During the repairs, the technicians also discovered a problem with my front tire, which was leaking air. By replacing the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor, they saved me the trouble of having to deal with an unexpected emergency on the road. I appreciate how they went the extra mile to take care of that. read more

I usually don't complaint about things but this time I feel that if I didn't then things won't change for other customers in the future. This past week I was in an accident the insurance company of the person who hit my car set up an appointment with the Gerber Collision here in Renton Washington. I was told to take my car that they were going to do the estimate for the damages that all I had to do was go in and they had all my information. When I got to Gerber Collision the desk lady wasn't any help she made me repeat my name multiple times acting like if she couldn't hear me when she was a couple feet away and kept asking me what i was going in for, funny thing was that there were two other people in the I guess you can call it office that were able to hear me just fine. When the manager came out she wasn't that much help either all she said that they had to much work that the insurance I was sent by she had no idea who they were and that I had to make the appointment myself to get the estimate and the I should try the other locations. When I got home after a useless trip I contacted the insurance company they told me they did not understand why they acted that way and that it wasn't the first time they had sent cars to that location. I asked for a different repair shop because from what I see if this is the kind poor service I get imagine what kind of service my car would get at a location like this. read more

STAY AWAY! The service is hit or miss I'm sure. Customer Service is terrible. They lie and are rude through their actions. They do not know the meaning of customer service. No it does not mean just speaking nice and answering the phone. It means followup, being prompt and being truthful. I am more than willing to sympathize and be patient. They simply do none of those. For me my repair was insurance claim. It look literally like 1-1/2 week to get in for an estimate. I had to make an appointment. They said they were super busy.... When I did finally get in for an estimate...5 minutes and was done. Insurance sent them check, but told me they need payment guarantee. Waited more than 3 weeks for a part. I ask them to cancel the whole thing while still waiting for a part because I was not happy taking so long to get my car repaired. I was told too late they have the check written out to them from insurance. Wow..Bad experience, felt like some sort of hostage situation. Called insurance and canceled the check.
