I had a very bad experience with Gerber - Pomona. I was charged thousands of dollars for what was only a tiny dent, which felt completely unreasonable and exaggerated. There was no effort to work with me fairly or explain the costs in a transparent way. I had my car repaired at Gerber in Pomona after being rear ended, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The damage was to my rear bumper and they completely fixed and repainted it. The work was great- you'd never know there had been any damage at all. From start to finish, the customer service was excellent. Tony the general manager took the time to explain what work would be done. Erika at the front desk was professional and friendly, making the process smooth and stress free. I really appreciated the text updates they sent through the process. It's been 1 month and 11 days since I dropped off the car. The due date kept getting pushed back even after talking to someone from corporate. Today, Oct 17, I show up to pick up the car as scheduled and promised and it's not here! After some choice words and about an hour of time, I find out the car is at the alignment shop and will be back soon. After a test drive with victor, I determined the car ran fine and looked good. The collision repair guys did a good job job and I'd give them a 5 star rating The management at the Pomona location still gets a 1 star. read more

In September I was in a pretty bad car accident. I was hit by a semi. The passenger side of my truck was crushed a bit. I took my truck in fully expecting it to be totaled. Instead Gerber staff assured me they could repair it. 3 weeks later my truck was returned to me looking like new. I highly reccomend this shop and the Gerber team. They did a beautiful job on my truck. Communication with the shop was very good they texted me every few days with progress notes. The paint colors were matched perfectly. Even though it was not part of what my insurance would cover I asked them to have the headliner replaced in my truck. They brought in a outside contractor who did the job beautifully. Overall I am very pleased with all of the work that was done and it was priced reasonably . read more

Very very shady! I brought my vehicle in with a little bit of bumper damage from a very slow speed rear ending in a parking lot. The estimate they submitted to my insurance company was charging for a slew of things that didn't have any problems whatsoever. Also, my car was perfectly drivable when it arrived and for some reason I needed to tow it myself home. What are these people doing over there? My initial experience was good but then it went downhill from there. Let me explain. I had a small fender bender that needed repair. It was very quickly to book Gerber and the repair was scheduled right away. The repair: I was impressed with the repair. It was much faster than I thought, only took a few days. The paint matched rest of the car (they had to paint bumper, fender, and driver side mirror). The problem: I noticed a problem right away. The door handle (inside the car, where you pull to close the door) was chipped. Since it is where I place my hand daily, it was pretty easily detected. The manager took a picture of it, said it's no problem to order the part to pop it back in... So I went on my merry way (after paying my $1000 deductible). The follow-up... or the lack thereof: I didn't hear back from Gerber for a week, so I emailed them to follow-up. Found out that the manager was no longer with them. So I waited a few days for the new manager to call me to figure out the story. I explained the whole situation and then waited.... then waited.... Finally, I called the new manager and she said the part was just ordered and will contact me to schedule for repair... then I waited... then waited... Eventually I called them again and the part was in, but no one bothered to call me. The warrantee repair was scheduled soon after. The door was fixed after couple days. But I noticed that the part that they ordered, is NOT new... it has old scratches and chips. But I am too tired to have them fix it yet another time. I would say that their new manager Savana needs to take a customer service course. She is not pleasant to deal with, not to mention lack of communication / follow-up is a major hassle for customer. If you need your car fixed, might be good to shop around. read more

Took my KIA Optima in on Wed to have my bumper repaired and it was finished by Friday. the work done was excellent and the paint matching the factory paint was perfect. The office staff was very friendly and explained everything to a T and gave me updates on the progress of my car. The painters and mechanics are top notch. And the pricing very reasonable. If I could leave less than one star I would. They had my Jeep for three months and when I picked it up there were numerous mistakes on the repairs. They assured me they would take care of it and I arranged a time to take it back in. They called the next day saying it was ready- NOPE! Only one error was corrected. I left my jeep there for another week. They said it was ready. NOPE! They offered to keep it longer to fix it. I decided not to give them another chance since they had failed so many times. AND- they removed parts of the vehicle that did not need to be removed and never replaced them. HORRIBLE! I recommended to my insurance company that Gerber should be removed as an approved shop. Now I have to call Gerber to find out where my missing parts are.... read more

I came to this shop 7 months ago and had an amazing experience, so when I got hit on the freeway and was asked by my insurance if I had a preferred shop I'd like to go to, it was a no brainer. Just like my previous visit, the staff was very attentive and detailed with their work and in explaining to me what I needed. This was my first freeway collision in my first ever car, so Brian G's amazing customer service skills were extra appreciated. The Gerber-Pomona crew is painfully slow at completing simple repairs. My insurance company (Geico) sent me to them to repair damage to my vehicle. My 2018 Toyota 4Runner was broken into at a San Francisco parking lot. The damage was a broken out passenger door window, the back lift-gate window, and some very minor damage to the paint below the lift-gate window from the broken glass. It took Gerber-Pomona from September 22nd to November 3rd (6 weeks) to complete this simple repair. The quality of the repair performed by Gerber-Pomona appears to be adequate, but to take 6 weeks to complete such a simple repair is unacceptably slow. read more

I made an appointment and took my car in for an estimate. It was not an insurance claim nor had my vehicle been in an accident. The hinge on my driver side door was worn out. I need a new one and was referred to an auto body shop for this to be done. I explained why I was making the appt, that I was cash pay. Almost out of the gate the guy doing the inspection got turned off when he learned it was a minor repair. He told me they could give me the estimate "but you're going to wait behind all the insurance work we have to do. We are really busy. Maybe you'd be better off going to another store". Now I don't know if he meant any other store or another Gerber location, but either way really bad customer service to set me up with an appt just to tell me you don't really want to do the work.
