1. They stole my spare tire! A few weeks after I took my car for repair I discovered that my spare tire was missing. Now, I've only ever taken the car for service/ repair to two places: the Dodge dealer where I bought it and this place. When I pointed this fact to the manager he simply said that the spare wasn't there in the first place but which he conveniently forgot to write/say anything to me. Unfortunately I don't have any hard evidence or I would have sued. 2. They said they couldn't replace the tire with the same brand/model, so they put a "comparable" model for the new tire. I've been meaning to post this review for a while. I had it saved in my notes making sure to document all that we went through so as to not leave anything out. This all began soon after August 31, 2018. After someone crashed into my daughters 2014 Nissan Altima on 2 separate occassions less than a month apart. We took it to Gerber for repair. When we got it back we noticed things that weren't right so we took it back again. Everyone seemed so nice and accommodating. We picked the car up and again we had to go through this about 5 or 6 times due to bumper coming undone, tail lights not matching, paint indents, peeling, paint not matching... when the new front bumper they ordered for us started coming undone, they tried to fix it but couldn't get it to fit correctly and the blonde haired lady overseeing the repairs at that time asked us "what do you want us to do about it?", when we explained that we would just like a bumper to fit the car like it did before the accident, they told us they ordered a 2 prong bumper and could get a 3 prong bumper this time and hope it fits, and thankfully the 3 prong one was the correct one. We felt bad enough having to take it back so many times and the last time while I was outside looking at the paint with Ross and the boss/owner, Ross went back inside for a few minutes and my adult daughter (owner of said car) was still inside by the coffee machine around the corner from the front desk. She heard him suddenly start complaining about an unnamed customer to Gail the receptionist, using the F word as soon as he came inside from looking at our car and Gail whispered something to him and then said something along the lines of "yeah, you saw my eyes when they said that and you know what I'm thinking by my expression," Now mind you, I can't say for certain they were talking about us but the timing and circumstances can't help but wonder. My daughter and I decided if anything ever happens again we would have to go to another place because under these circumstances we would never feel comfortable coming here again. One should not have to feel bad for wanting their paint to match as it did before. My daughter was still paying on this car. Also, on two occasions Ross told us to be there and the first time the appointment was not put in the system and the second time the car wasn't ready. When we had to leave it again the last time and I called to see if it was finished Ross seemed like he was trying to be nice but was obviously frustrated. I assured him we were not in a hurry, just checking and to just let us know when it was complete. We didn't want to drive out there for nothing a third time. If you don't want to go through hell trying to get your car fixed right, at least with matching tail lights and paint then avoid this place at all costs. read more

My car hasn't reached the shop yet but Gus has gone above and beyond to help me get my car in for repairs as quickly as possible (previously scheduled for 2/15!! But Gus is getting me in today!) I was referred to Gerber Collision in Cary by the insurance company otherwise I would have never found it since one only needs body work once a decade. I would tell people to take their vehicles elsewhere. They called me and said my vehicle was done and ready to be picked up. I got there, inspected the work and found ~5 things that were sub-par in workmanship. When I pointed this out, they were at first courteous and willing to make changes in their work. After fixing a few of the items, they became rude and were pushing me to accept bad work. I would equate it with you hiring a painter to paint your bedroom and he did a great job on 3 out of 4 walls. When you point out that the 4th wall is not done right, he says "but the other walls look great!" and doesn't want to redo/fix the 4th wall. If I ever need body work done again, I'm going with a dealer-associated shop. No extra cash out of my pocket (insurance company pays no matter where you take your vehicle) and your vehicle is getting worked on by people that are very familiar with your make and model. So that's my advice. Skip the "generic" shops and go branded. More attention to detail and less rental vehicle hassle, since rental companies usually have a fleet right on site with dealerships. read more

We were referred here by our insurance. I would never go there again. The delays were never ending on the work. They didn't order all the parts to fix my vehicle and then they had to go back and get another part. Another time they fixed it they thought, but it didn't align, so they had to replace another piece. I was glad i called when they thought it would be done and checked. It wasn't and I had to scramble to change my leave and train ticket. I was literally on the train platform when they confirmed the work wasn't going to be done by the date promised. The last straw was when we did get the vehicle, I drove home, over eight hours away, and had my kids climb into the third row. They buckled up and as we were driving along their seat belts popped out of the seat. Gerber never put the bolts back in for the rear seat belts. Thank heavens we weren't in an accident. Luckily our insurance for us a different, local shop to do the work. Don't go here unless you have to. read more

First of all, my car looks great and I had a really positive experience with the staff in the office; receptionist (Gail) was extremely kind and helpful. That being said, my vape was stolen from car during the repair. I'm beating myself up for having left such a valuable item in the car in the first place, but that doesn't make it any less unprofessional and infuriating. When I brought it to the staff's attention, one of the guys went to "look around for it" and of course came back empty handed. I'm not one to make a scene, and besides, I assume I never came in contact with the person who actually stole it, but I can only hope they will at least take this issue seriously and re-evaluate their level of trust in their employees. All in all, quality work. Just don't leave anything expensive in your car. read more

Noone wants to find themselves in an accident. But if such an unfortunate event should occur, I cannot recommend Gerber Collision and Glass (Cary, NC) enough. A giant dumptruck thought it would back up into my 2017 Subaru Forrester at a stoplight, thereby crushing my hood and Lord knows what else. All I heard was a "crunch." I have great insurance (USAA) and I was given the liberty to choose from several body shops. At first, I chose Caliber Collision in Apex, NC. After almost a full business day with no call back- I decided to call them and got a serious brush-off. So, I took my business elsewhere. Wow, what a difference in customer service at Gerber! Gail picked up the phone and immediately transferred me to Amanda. Although there was an impending hurricane (Florence) approaching, they told me to go ahead and bring the car in. I was afraid with the hood crumpled, the insides of the car would be exposed to the elements during the hurricane. Not so- they moved all of their vehicles indoors into a garage in order to keep them protected. They also started working on the car immediately after Hurricane Florence left- I believe it was a Tuesday, just a few days after the accident. They were just so easy to do business with- I had zero stress throughout the entire process. I dropped off my car, Enterprise picked me up, and Amanda gave me an on-site estimate in a matter of minutes. Never have a met a Professional who is so knowledgeable. She started with the hood of my car and just went inch by inch, stating what she thought needed to be done. It took less than a few hours to get a comprehensible estimate- which was immediately sent to USAA for review. My insurance paid, and Gerber started working on the repairs immediately. I was given an estimated completion date of about ten days and guess what? They finished a full week ahead of schedule. The repairs are immaculate. I have to admit, my car took one extra day, because Amanda wasn't 100% satisfied with the match-job on the painting (I had to get a new front bumper and the car had to be painted/blended with the rest of the car). She knew this vehicle was special to me- because it was the last car my Father purchased before he passed away. It's one of the only things left I have of my Father's- and she treated my car with the utmost respect and care. It was completely worth that extra day to get a perfect paint job! She also invited me to stop in a week later so they can buff out any perceived imperfections in the hood (I didn't see any, but she insisted). She also offered to take me out to lunch while they buff my car! Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience- and I think the estimated (and real) costs were very reasonable for the amount of body damage that was done. What peace of mind I now have- knowing such a great body shop exists so close to where I live. Getting into an accident is about the worst experience you can ever have- but with the influx of people coming into Cary these days- honestly it's just a matter of time before I get into another fender bender (and hopefully nothing more). I cannot recommend Gerber (and Gail and Amanda) enough. read more

ZERO star if I am allowed. DISHONEST SCAMMER!!!! Long story short. Went to this shop per insurance company's recommendation to fix front bumper and engine in an accident. After all was fixed, we've come to notice both of my front tires that were not at all damaged in the accident got REPLACED by some crappy junks. I am absolute appalled by this. My car has always been serviced by the same mechanic at the dealership throughout the years. Only this one time. I am shocked. Stay FAR and AWAY from this place. My 2015 Fusion went in for a front fender repair. Paint never matched, looked noticeably purple on a blue car. Replaced the headlight unit which I didn't believe was broken but in all fairness I didn't closely inspect the unit. It was a company car so I didn't care about the work. Additionally they recommended a mobile wheel repair guy they use, Charles someone, can't recall the last name. This guy did poor work and I had to have another company re-work the wheels. People should be entitled to decent work if your going to be in the business of auto reconditioning. read more

I am severely disappointed by Gerber Collison & Glass. I had a scheduling constraint, and explained it to them carefully. They could have asked me to repair a few weeks later, which would have been fine. But they claimed that they could get it done promptly. They did not. Moreover, Gerber tried to find things to repair just to push up the repair cost. I'm pretty sure that the car could have been repaired at half the cost. read more

Upon walking in and approaching the front desk, Allison the receptionist spoke to me as though I was intruding on her time. Once I told her that I had an appointment for an estimate she tossed a clipboard upon the counter and snarked "Have a seat and fill this out." Yes, tossed. A few days later I got a second estimate done elsewhere which came to approximately $50 cheaper than Gerber. However since there was a longer waiting list at the other shop, I called Gerber to ask if they would match the price. Allison immediately said no and chuckled as though my question was silly. I had to ask twice, just to confirm I was hearing correctly. This was a $4,000 repair job being offered to them, and they lost it over $50. Oh well. I went with the other body shop, excellent service, satisfactory work. I later found out that Allison has worked at other places in the area and been fired for being rude to customers. It's a wonder Gerber in Cary stays in business with this type of staff! read more

They were all kind, considerate, informative, and patient with me when I called to check on the status of my car. Do not take your car here. I made an appointment and got a written estimate. I then made an appointment to have the repairs done with plenty of time for the parts to come in. When I took the car to be repaired, they had no idea what was going on, the parts had not been ordered, instead they called me with a second estimate that was TWO TIMES the amount of the first estimate. I took my car elsewhere, of course, but wasted a lot of time. Very disorganized and disreputable. read more

Thanks to Gail Davis at front desk my experience at Gerber was very pleasant. She attended to me as soon as I went in and was very courteous. She personally drove me over to enterprise car rental, when they didn't turn up after multiple calls over the span of an hour. She also personally took me around the parking lot to my car, so I could pick up my daughter's car seat. I have never come across more courteous person in a car service place. read more

First off let me start my stating I have done business with Gerber collision for 5 years now and have had several of my vehicles serviced with them,This was by far the worst experience. I was rear ended two weeks ago and had to have my bumper replaced and part of my trunk fixed as well. They told me it would take a week and by Wednesday they called me and told me my vehicle was ready! I was so happy to go pick it up and when I arrived everything SEEMED to look good. When I got home and took a closer looked my trunk was not properly aligned with the rear compartment and there was a one to two inch gap between my bumper and the frame...as you can imagine I was displeased. I called and talked to the general manger, Andy who was for the most part very friendly. When I arrived to get it looked at, they saw the problems and adjusted my trunk and rear bumper. Sadly I did not receive a single apology from anyone inside the shop not even the manager. It's quite sad they did not just align the trunk properly the first time nor attach the bumper correctly which they couldn't even fix when I went back. There was no space at all between the bumper before I was hit and afterwards they told me it couldn't be any closer to the frame than it already was, which I found to be quite alarming. Overall, my experience with this specific Gerber was not good, I would not recommend taking your vehicle here as they do not seem to really care about fixing the issue or keeping customers happy. read more
