I had to return my car several times to get it repaired, and the shop damaged my diver seat yet wouldn't take responsibility for it. My car was with Gerber for over 2 weeks. I got it back today. Earlier this week I got a text saying it was ready. When I called to confirm I was told that she couldn't give me a status and I would get a call back. Never received a call. Today, after I had picked up the car and went home to Naperville. I had to open the trunk when I was home and I found a brand new tire that they forgot to put on. When I told them about it they said I could bring the car back and it would be taken care of. So they made an appointment at a tire shop near me. That means I have to drive on a bad tire until the new one is put on and I have to take time out of my day to get it fixed Very frustrating!! read more

The worst service I ever had from the front desk to the actual work done from the shop, but I really have to make a point about the girl at the front desk, very rude not helpful at all and when you ask a simple question like an estimated time frame for the work , she could say yea don't know but instead she points at a letter on her desk and mumbles How would I know and says here read that on a very rude and condescending tone of voice, it seems like she f you are disrupting he world and you offending her just with your presence, she might be better off working from home because she lacks of people skills. read more

Michelle is the first person that greet you when you come into the place and she could not be any Kinder than she was in addition to being extremely helpful. After the insurance company wanted to total our car out we asked Gerber to take a look to see if they could make the necessary repairs at a reasonable price. They did a full inspection and were able to completely repair the car saving us the cost of purchasing a new car. If you have a lot of money or if you have insurance and don't care about paying a higher premium for using your insurance, then Gerber is the shop for you. If you don't have a lot of extra money for cosmetic vehicle repairs, and care about your insurance premiums, then don't go there. Any business can hire anybody off the street to replace parts. That's what Gerber does. There is no skill or finesse used. Their shop policy is to replace everything that has the slightest scratch. We wanted only the one damaged part replaced, and they wouldn't do just that. Gerber's estimate was over $2000 for what could be done for less than $400. I don't recommend Gerber. read more

The worst service I have ever encountered with car repair. Promised dates of completion dated from 5/11 onwards and didn't get the car until 6/10. And still waiting for one small part. Numerous excuses as to why it took so long; lies about the completion date; no real satisfaction until corporate was called. Then they were falling all over themselves. Very professional and through body shop. Everyone I met at there where very kind and thoughtful. I was kept apprised of my the how my repair was progressing and I was very comfortable with there performance. When the work was finished they went outside and went over my car completely, showed me the repair and it looked like nothing ever happened. I have a very bright shiny red card with a special clear coat finish which is hard to match and they matched it perfectly. They actually went above and beyond and buffed out some oops garage scratches I did for me for no charge. Would absolutely go back and recommend to others. Thanks Rick! read more

Susie and McKinley were such a great help and extremely friendly during the entire process! My car was done by a different Gerber location after I was rear ended back in August. I had dropped off my car before I went on vacation as the rear window of my trunk completely shattered after I closed my DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR! I was completely shocked. When I brought it in, I notified them of my 2 week out of country absence and was told by another manager that it would be done in time. However, after my 2 week vacation, I called and was told by McKinley that it hadn't been completed yet and it was his first day and he was getting caught up. What happened in those 2 weeks with my car I am not sure, but I believe work was not being done as I was told it would be. I called daily or every other day for updates which can be annoying, I know, but Susie and McKinley always maintained such a positive attitude towards me and were always so friendly and very helpful. Just after THREE DAYS of communicating with McKinley, my window was completed and it looked great! For only being at this shop for 3 days, McKinley absolutely killed it and got stuff done! Our car suffered both front and rear end damage in an accident on the expressway. Although we had always patronized independent body shops in the past with ok results, we agreed to try this Gerber location on the recommendation of our insurance. We are very happy we did! Gerber kept us advised of the status of the repair the entire time, did an excellent job repairing both the mechanical and the body damage, and returned the car to us spotless not only on the outside, but interior too! I spoke to the manager who address each of my concerns/complaints: - The repair (duration and result) - The "power of attorney" form (was not needed) - The out of pocket costs (we are working on a fair resolution) 3. Civility and fairness - the Gerber reps were polite, apologetic, and did in my estimation, "make it right." Full disclosure: My dad was a mechanic. I have some empathy for mechanics and body technicians. All in all, I am left with the conclusion that this is a solid organization that stands behind their work. So, my rating goes from 2 to 4. Although the people were exceptionally nice, the lies that they told me about my car were horrific. My car was severely damaged and should have been totaled. The unmentioned problem was that the frame had been bent. However, Gerber swore up and down that it could be fixed in 3 weeks. It took more than 8 weeks to fix it. The first right turn that I made I heard a part rattle over to the other side. They left bits and pieces of car parts all over the interior of the car. The windshield hadn't been cleaned and the film and dirt took nearly an hour to remove, Their company paperwork was strewn all over the seats (on and under). I have never been so disappointed by such seemingly nice people. read more

I had my fender and door replaced by Gerber collision and glass on 1313 n lake street, Aurora, Illinois, 60506 on 12/15/2020 and they stated that there is a lifetime warranty on the repair. The fender flare was removed and installed when the fender and door was replaced. This week the fender flare fell off while I was driving. Today an agent at the branch inspected my vehicle and refused to do a warranty repair because he stated that in the pictures when the car left everything looked ok. My argument was that it should never have fallen off it they fitted the fender flare correctly. I would like the fender flare to be correctly installed and the lifetime warranty to be honored. He stood there and didn't even look at the system for a quote and told me that the repair cost would be $649. A figure out of his head. All my other fender flares are attached except the one that was removed and installed by Gerber in December . He accused me of the vehicle being in an accident recently which is not true. The front was in this condition and the fender flare should not have fallen off while I was driving if Gerber did proper quality work. read more

OK, let me first start off by saying I have never in my life enjoyed getting my car fixed after an accident. But this was by far the BEST experiance ever at any body shop in my 44 years on this earth. I did not have full coverage insurance so I had to foot the bill for my repair. I explained this to Patrick ( the manager at this Aurora location ) He took his time and informed me of the price, I even tried to cut corners on not replacing and or painting the area around or next too the damaged area. Patrick informed me due to my vehicle being over 10 years old it would need to be blended in order for the paint job to look good. I again refused due to cost reasons. Patrick called me a few days later to inform me he had saved me some money and my bill would be a little less because they were able to use some of my old parts. I was like WOW this guy is really honest. Another day went by and I recieved another call from Patrick stating that my vehicle was almost done but the newly painted areas did not match the other body parts and looked really off. This is when Patrick told me due to the cost saving of the reusing of my parts and he would give me a little more discount if I blended the paint into the other parts of the car to make the finished product look better and it would still be near my origionla estimate price, so I decided to have it done. Patrick told me that my car would still be finished on the day he told me it would be. The day I picked up my car it looked WAY BETTER than I thought it would due to my small budget. My vehicle looked amazing then when I went to pay the bill it was still lower than my estimate and Patrick told me he was able to yet again return another part we had ordered saving me a little more money. Do not use them for windshield repair. I had a chip in mine and there price was more reasonable than Safelite so I gave them a try. You cannot tell they did anything, it looks exactly the same. And there warranty only refunds you the repair cost towards the cost of a new windshield purchased through them. read more

Great work on a hood dent and replacement windshield from road damage. Windshield was replaced with a PGW part and has had no leaks or wind noise. The windshield optics are as good as the original. The hood dent was repaired professionally and came out of the shop looking like new. Staff at Gerber worked well with my insurance company. They arranged for a loaner car with a local car rental company that picks up and drops off from their location. I wish I did not have to give this company one star, they do not deserve that! Don't even waste your time coming here! Recently went in to have some work done on my vehicle after someone backed into my truck. The man who wrote up my estimate basically told me that he was not going to include the body damage in the estimate because it was not from the accident (when anyone could tell that it clearly was because of the accident). When a white car backs into a red truck you can tell because of the white paint transfer and the dents... When my husband and I went there to drop off my truck to have it repaired he (the same man) told my husband the same thing, basically saying that all he would do was replace the wheel (not even check for suspension problems due to being backed into on my front passenger wheel). My husband told him that the other insurance said that they would fix any related damages, and the man even called the insurance company to determine what they would cover and the insurance told him to fix it so that anything related to the accident was fixed. He then came out and pretty much REFUSED to fix our truck because it was "too hairy of a situation", that he didn't think that we would be satisfied with the work, and he didn't want to give Gerber a bad name. He refused to fix our truck after we had been in an accident...I thought that was what Gerber Collision and Glass did! This man, for some reason, did not want anything to do with the repair of our truck even though we were covered by the insurance company who is assuming responsibility. We were even told by this man to file a claim on OUR insurance and pay our deductible to have the body damage fixed. The accident was not my fault; I am not going to have my insurance rates go up because someone who does not want to do his job correctly thinks I should. I am very upset with the unprofessional and rude customer service I received at this location. I have already filed a report with the BBB and will be doing all that I can to get the word out that Gerber Collision and Glass is not the place to take your business! read more
