It was efficient and I truly appreciate all the efforts having to remove years of dead skin off my body. I have had a body scrub and a handful of massages, all of which were great experiences. Both Julie and Michelle are excellent at what they do. Jasmine at the front desk is personable and attentive. Jasmine greets me and ushers me to the locker room, where I change into a robe and store my belongings. Then off to the massage room with the lovely Michelle, who does miracles on my body. In all the years I have received massages, I have never had anyone be as accommodating as Michelle is with me. Besides her soothing and caring demeanor, she is strong and knowledgeable. We have great conversations, the times I don't fall asleep. One of the things she does that I greatly appreciate is that she changes the face pillow to a thicker cushion, so I am comfortable lying on my chest. It makes me feel special cause it's not easy lying on my stomach as a big-chested woman. After the massage, there is always the option to use the dry sauna. Offer that I happily take if I have the time. Cozy vibes all over, and everything is tidy and clean. I swear I levitate out of here each time. The place is never packed. At most, I've seen two other people while I've visited, which is why they are strict about people being on time. I find the prices reasonable for their services and have never been told what to tip. The problem was that the color was still pretty high up such that I would have to cut off too much hair to get all the remaining color gone, so I needed to dye my hair back to black since my goal was to go back to my natural hair color and go short for the summer. Yvette (colorist) and Jairol (hair stylist) handled my appointment and were awesome! First off I was LATE by half an hour which I was so embarrassed by but they still took my appointment. Yvette's scalp massage during the hair washing was very relaxing! I showed Jairol example photos of the cut I was going for and he gave me advice on what he thought suited me, so my cut ended up being like a mix of the reference photos that I showed him. Before he was going to move on to blow drying my hair, I voiced my wish to go a little shorter, to which he obliged. I like that it seemed like both Yvette and Jairol took their time to do a really good job. Despite me being late, there was no sign of them rushing me out the door. Overall I felt very taken care of while I was here. Yes this is a bit of a higher end salon (I spent $370 here for cut + color + tip) but it's worth it. I personally only get a haircut like once a year so for me, it's worth the investment. I would definitely like to come back!

Instead, the colorist completely ignored my request, used her own dyes without asking, and now my hair is pulling a fire engine red -- the exact opposite of what I asked for. When I brought up how my roots weren't done correctly, she claimed my dye was expired (it wasn't), even though I've used the same box over 10 times with no issue and know how it behaves, especially at the roots. (She did not leave it on long enough) She also made an odd comment: "I'd love to make you a brunette," despite me clearly asking for red/copper -- and the fact that I'm a natural brunette. Throughout the appointment, I felt constantly dismissed and second-guessed. I even told her a previous stylist had butchered my hair, and instead of showing empathy, she defended him, saying maybe it wasn't malicious -- when I know it absolutely was. At the time, I questioned if I was asking for too much, but in hindsight, it's clear the experience felt so off because she argued with nearly everything I said. Overall, I felt gaslit, ignored, and very disappointed.

After the security guard, you have to put your shoes in the locker. You then go upstairs to the 3rd floor where there is a girls and boys section for changing. Compared to an actual Korean spa, you have to bring your bathing suit. They have changing room areas all around the locker room. The inside has a ton of showers (both Korean style and American). They have an indoor sauna in the girls side and a couple hot tubs. Then you can go out to the outdoor areas. They had a cold waterfall. There were also several unisex hot tubs. This place also has a quiet area to lounge, several saunas with different medical properties, and a gym. The amenities here can go on and on. They definitely balance health with adding a coworking space. It's also interesting they have an infinity pool that shows NYC from the rooftop. The place also has a seasonal grill area and other food court options so you don't have to leave.

I want to share my experience with Enrique as both a masseuse and as the business owner of Face to Face NYC: Enrique gave me the "Ultimate Massage". When I came into the office at the lobby Enrique quickly acknowledged and greeted me. He went to make sure the room as perfect and then came back outside to take me into the room. The room was perfectly lit and air conditioned. He politely gave me time alone to get ready for the table and came back several minutes later to start the massage. The Ultimate Massage: I have never done a deep tissue massage before and so I was not sure what to expect. Enrique delivered in the perfect amount of pressure to apply onto my hard knots both on my back and my shoulders. He started off on my shoulders and upper back and I had such difficult knots on my shoulders it was so painful feeling him loosen them up gradually. But that "pain" was pain of relief and comfort. Enrique did a wonderful job on my neck, shoulders, and back. He then proceeded to the rest of my body: legs, feet, arms, and hands. I had no idea that I had secret hard knots all over my forearm and legs. Enrique used his professionalism and history of his craft by doing techniques that helped to ease up painful knots that has never been touched before; especially in a deep tissue massage. Overall: I felt very relieved and satisfied at the end of my Ultimate Massage that I had asked Enrique if he had time for 30-45 minutes more for a deep tissue massage specifically for my back and shoulders. Unfortunately, he had a next client coming in. I will definitely be coming back to Enrique at Face to Face NYC for a thorough, professional, well done massage as well as try their other offerings.
