ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...The Spring Universe menu that was intergalactic at Geranium. A week prior, lucky and blessed to experience Osteria Francescana with a group of friends, now this year's 2016 World's Best restaurant. Almost a week later, was super lucky that I got to experience Geranium. Am months later still, smiling sometimes unbelievably SMH with the flavors and presentation I've experienced here. Note: See my photos on Geranium's photos as my photos didn't attach to my review.
From the website: "THOUGHFULNESS CAN BE TASTED"
"Geranium is a lucid, light and dynamic kitchen. Our mission is to create meals that involve all our senses - restores, challenges and enriches."
"Dynamic means force and stands for the living formative forces of nature. These forces are not visible, but their biologic "footprints" are. The effects can be seen if one learns to observe and understand the connections between the formative forces and the physical matter of all organisms"

The minute I was greeted by the maitre D, my anxiety cross (about Michelin restaurants) flew out the window. The vibe is warm and friendly here. The caliber of the staff here is noteworthy. The food at Geranium was Art, for Geranium is etching different rules in dining-- the experience plate after plate was a huge surprise to me. Add to this 3.5 hour meal a wine pairings combo that killed me every single match, schooled my palate and shifted me to nirvana.
Finally, coffee service from the Coffee Collective was held in a lounge area where one was treated with yet another range of 'dessert' bites that reckoned of generations of foraging, thought provoking invention, humbly indicative of Viking survival and evolution......SMH. An optional tour of the wine collection is provided after the meal.
Service was simple, friendly casual with sincere smiles, refined yet unpretentious. There were royalty from Asia next to me, 2 friends on a food pilgrimage, lots of other casually dressed solo diners and happy couples. Tables are spaced apart enough so you feel you are in your own nest--a large semi-circular sofa coddling you or the two of you.
I left Geranium ecstatic; I was so happy I walked the 3.5 miles back to my hotel; ecstatic all the while wondering what else is possible on a plate. Yet I enjoyed and was enlightened by Geraniums purpose: the experience highlighted these biologic footprints' (manifested on each plate) and the interconnections, the 'formative forces' that forced us to evolve-- our interconnected life on earth depending on all organisms for survival and they on us.....and the beat goes on.
I can't forget Geranium; I just can't.....let go of the thoughtfulness to the food here.
Tak, Rasmus Kofoed, Søren Ledet, Mikael Båth and to the stellar staff at Geranium.
Happy holidays to all Yelpers and hope you get to try this one-of-a-kind meal sometime.
Visits: 1, love to repeat
