Dried up beans.

Location looks dated but clean. The Smokey smell was fantastic from the road. The blonde lady that took care of me was a boss. Answering the phone, ringing people up, packing the to-go boxes all at once while the younger guy was leaning on the counter with his arms folded. (I should have taken a picture). I got there at around 6:10 and that's why I feel that the food was not on point. The Mac n cheese was over cooked, soggy and greasy. Looked like it was the same batch from the morning maybe. Same thing with the beans. Stodgy and coagulated into a firm mush ball. It didn't move once it cooled down a bit. The BBQ ribs were indeed Smokey and soft so they get points for the ribs being nice. The pork plate was just dry. Yes it was Smokey but dry dry dry. The lady up front was pleasant and efficient and probably needs a raise since she's doing a fantastic job while being pleasant at the same time. If I ever decided to go back there it would have to be in the morning to try everything fresh.

this place is delicious. 100% guaranteed recommended.

first time ordering in this restaurant and I would give it 10 out of 10 it is delicious

We went in here this afternoon for an early dinner. The place is pretty run down with all the old booths and tables, as well as restrooms that are outside. A very strange set up. The BBQ menu was totally disappointing with the lack of baby back ribs and the lack of brisket. I don't know why you would call yourself a BBQ restaurant without those key popular items. We ordered two platters, one with just pork ribs, fries, and macaroni salad, and the other with ribs, quarter chicken white, and fries with coleslaw. We also ordered a bowl of chili which was the best food we ate out of the bunch. The chili had some good flavor but the accompanied crackers tasted stale. The ribs were very tough and hard to eat. The fries were very plain as well as the macaroni salad. The coleslaw was far too sweet and watery. The quarter chicken white breast had no taste at all to it, which was very disappointing. We finished our meal with the banana pudding, which tasted pretty good, but for $4.75 you seem to only get four spoonfuls, which was shocking. The service here is about the only good thing I can mention about this place. Our server was friendly and quick. But, the main point is that the BBQ here is just awful.

So much food the two meat plater for 16.99 is crazy amount of food, but you'll have some for tomorrow if you order it. It's awesome.

Omg for 16.99 you can't buy food this good, it was a meal for two. Just outstanding BBQ right here in Broward county Florida.

Just because they have been there forever doesn't mean that they have an excuse besides being greedy to serve shit food to guest . I don't even have to explain . The city needs to know what's going on here I got extremely sick from this food . The sauce is shit . The prices are great because they are serving shit . Rats clearly . It's disgusting. The ceilings coming off . THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DONT GET RENOVATIONS ON A TIMELY MANNER . Now the buildings shit . I'm pissed off that I literally chewed a piece of activated charcoal and I got sick. The food is disgusting. SERVICE IS LAZY . Who owns this place ? TEAR IT DOWN

Really good BBQ spot! The prices make you feel like you're at a 1970's diner. Definitely worth coming here to try. BBQ pick 2 combo with bread & 2 sides was an absolute feast for like $17. Some feedback to improve: 1) a sign or a stand that says "please seat yourself". It eliminates the aspect of customers standing at the front not knowing what to do & waiting for a server who will just say "seat yourself" 2) A vent fan at the front door to keep any flies out. There wasn't many tbh but this should stop the probem 3) Add bacon to the collard greens & add a sauce with a little more flavor. Something a little spicy but not overboard 4) add 1 more type of sweet bbq sauce at the table (good spicy options, something sweet will round it out) 5) find out a way to make the bbq a little less tough and dry. Worth the price and all but this would take it next level & u would have room to increase prices & sales. Might be tough with your current method of cooking it though. I hope the owner finds this feedback well, and I do appreciate the hospitality I was given. Looking to come back and maybe see a few changes for the better. Overall awesome experience to start though for a first time.

The Spread: We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, spare ribs, and baby back ribs -- yes, all four -- on one tray lined with butcher paper. It looked like a BBQ fever dream and tasted even better than it looked. The Meats: The brisket was the standout for me. Smoked over real wood for 12+ hours, hand-carved, pink smoke ring, tender all the way through. The baby back ribs were glazed and meaty with deep smoky flavor, and the spare ribs were thick, juicy, and packed with bold bark. The smoked chicken rounded it all out -- moist, flavorful, never dry. The Sides: Rice and peas with coconut milk -- fragrant and perfectly cooked. The 4-cheese mac was outrageously creamy (I kept going back for more). The sweet and tangy coleslaw was the perfect palate cleanser between bites of rich, smoky meat. The Extras: The 4-pack of sliders was a great add -- soft buns, well-seasoned patties, could easily make a meal on their own. The fries were golden and crispy. And the watermelon lemonade Kool-Aid with berries at the bottom? Refreshing, unique, and the perfect closer to an incredible meal. The Space: Big news for fans of Bare Bones -- they've just opened a brand new storefront next door with about a dozen additional tables and plenty of seating for the whole family. No more eating in your car or rushing home with takeout. You can now sit back, relax, and enjoy that tray of smoked goodness the way it was meant to be experienced. It's a welcome upgrade that somehow makes the food taste even better. This is a family-run operation with over 20 years of food experience and it shows in every detail. Bare Bones isn't just good BBQ -- it's a South Florida treasure.

I did like the option of the bbq sauce on the side, the bbq sauce definitely tastes award winning with smokey vibes and vinegar based. Cornbread and corn on the cob not my favorite, I opted for the baked potato (came with sour cream and butter) instead of fries, also probably a mistake on my part. At Shorty's, I asked if the 1/4 chicken dish was gluten free. The server said yes it's just baked chicken and I asked about the marinade per the menu. She said it's "Shorty's sauce" so I asked if it's GF and she said she didn't know, so I asked if she can please find out. She came back and said there's no marinade so I went ahead and ordered the chicken. I asked her if she could tell me if any of the table sauces were GF and again "I don't know". I asked if she can please ask someone who would know and no rush. She said she would get someone to come talk to me. Several minutes passed, she brings my food and I ask again about the sauce and she seems bothered and said they are way too busy and probably no one will be able to come talk to me. I wait some more time, and when the next round of meals comes out, we ask again and she reiterated that it's too busy and no manager or chef was able to give her a simple answer about if the BBQ sauce is gluten free. All she said was she knows the bbq is "sugar free or something". So after waiting, I just decided to eat and the chicken was BONE DRY. It felt like sacrilege the way they cooked that chicken until it was nearly powdered. Fast forward and meal ends and the server noticed I didn't eat much and asked why, I said the chicken is dry and she said "oh yeah it's always dry and you couldn't have sauce". ... Anyway, we will not be back. I'm also not convinced that she even brought up the question to manager. As someone who has worked in the food industry for several years, I feel it is the bare minimum to understand common allergens and restrictions that people may have and that they deserve to be taken seriously.

Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.

But it slowly got more diners, with about 5 tables filled before we left. Service was fine but the waitress who took our order barely spoke English and it was difficult getting answers about items on the menu. Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The dish came on a bed of shredded raw cabbage. There was no rice. When I asked, the server (a different one from the woman who took our order) brought us a small bowl. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. One appetizer, two entrees, tax, and tip was $66.
