This was a sad experience. My husband worked there in high school. We live over an hour away and were in the area because my husband's mother passed so we decided to stop for breakfast and have a stroll down memory lane. We were sat immediately but then had no other employee ask for coffee or say hi. After 20 minutes I flagged down a bus boy asking if I could just get a cup of coffee. A young man came over and took our order. Our food came out quick. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The eggs were displayed on my plate so you couldn't see the black on the bottom on them. The gravy is canned and the described fresh biscuits were anything but. My husbands eggs were so undercooked the white was runny and his chicken fried steak looked like a preformed hockey puck. The employees sat visiting with each other and were literally leaning on the counter on their phones. The young man said he was the manager and our waitress was new. I found that funny because she was one of the ones on her phone and socializing instead of working. Made a sad day even sadder. read more

This is one of my go-to breakfast date orders Went to George's this weekend and decided on the California Bennie (egg, hollandaise, tomato, avocado and bacon on an English muffin). They did not have a light hand with the avocado, it was loaded and delicious! A touch more hollandaise sauce would've been lovely but otherwise the meal was perfection it was a great order! Chicken and waffles made a guest appearance too! Truthfully I wasn't stoked on the dish because I'm not a fan of honey and it seemed the waffle or the syrup was honey infused but the chicken was scrumptious! Crispy, hot and juicy! It's a delicious combo just not my fave. This is personal preference of course so do with it as you will. George's has held the title of being voted best breakfast in Kirkland for the past 9 years! That being said, you can imagine the atmosphere is everything you could want for a memorable breakfast outing. This place is no secret. Expect wait times during the weekends, but not to worry because its' location in downtown Kirkland with boutiques and shops, and one block from the waterfront makes for fun adventures before your meal. Not too bad of a wait, 15-20 min. First thing I noticed was how loud indoors was. Service was good! An extra coffee was added onto my tab, but it was an easy fix. Portions are big; personally didn't like the nuts on the buttermilk pancakes. Biscuits and gravy are good. read more

I am so sorry to be writing this, but we dropped $100 for a simple breakfast and it was worth less than $10 so I feel like my job as Yelper is to provide HONEST feedback. That said... Not sure what happened to this place. Our previous visits have been wonderful, from service to food quality. Today was abysmal from start to finish. The waitress barely cracked a forced smile, wasn't friendly at all. The waiter I don't think said two words to us - just shoved water on the table and literally threw a bunch of napkins and flatware in the middle of the table. My paper menu had old scrambled egg on the back of it - disgusting. The food was horrible. The yogurt parfait for $10 was unstirred plain greek yogurt, an economical dribble of honey, 1/4 cup strawberries and blueberries, and I believe Nature bar "granola" that was clumsily broke into shards and hidden by the fruit on top -- not the mixed fruit from before, the better quality honey. The eggs benedict was a bizarre creamy sauce without lemon -- tasted and looked way differently than the freshly made version I've had before. It was sloppily put together and completely drowned the whole plate. The "meatball sub" was gyro meat, not meatballs, they packed in with some spoons of marinara -- it was disgusting and not edible. The breakfast sausage tasted old and was overcooked, the scrambled eggs had zero flavor. The only decent thing on the table was the waffle. The waitress saw we clearly didn't like the food. Never checked in on us while we ate, never acknowledged the food or anything. We asked for the check and left. I hope whoever manages or owns gets better cooks in the kitchen to execute the menu we all love better and some better staff. read more

One of the best places to go for breakfast! Great selections for any type of eater. Their Eggs Benedict is spectacular and the Lumberjack special can satisfy any hungry individual. Although very busy, they move people pretty quickly and wait times aren't horrible. read more

The food here is simply not very good. The Eggs Benedict dish was average at best (hollandaise lacked flavor... very subpar). English muffin was barely toasted, which is a crime. What a great little brunch spot in Kirkland. And it was definitely a popular spot on a Saturday since many people were celebrating their birthdays here. The menu is combined with Mediterranean and American. There were only happy stomachs around the whole table. I was torn between a classic breakfast and chicken and waffles. But after seeing the pictures the chicken and waffles didn't impress me. Instead I went with the chicken fried steak with crispy hash browns and gravy on the side. The food was super delicious everything was perfect. The hash browns were definitely crispy. The chicken fried steak not too over fried and the gravy was light. The service was great the entire time and I was super delighted with everything. The food kept me full way until dinner which was great for our 10 mile adventures for the day. This is Kirkland, and we expect WA State friendly service, so hoping they can raise the bar higher vs resting on their 40 yr reputation.  Service. Table for 5, please. They had us waiting for 20 minutes while we had 4/5 of our party. Understandable if the place had been packed, but... they had 8 tables that could have been good for us.  Finally, after I pushed a bit more, they sat us down, and with a really bad attitude by the greeter: we could barely hear her when she told us to follow her. Greeters are such an important part of the experience, we started with the wrong foot here.  Once seated, the service from our waiter was better.  He was attentive and patient. Need to empower the greeters to know when it is OK to sit a party even if not everyone is there, based on occupancy vs a broad policy of everyone has to be here (and place was half empty). I was ready to walk out, so pls be mindful and help your employees make the right decisions. Food. Decent California bennedict. Avocado and bacon were nicely balanced. Eggs were poached right. Strawberry Belgian waffles were soft and nicely paired with maple syrup, fresh strawberries. I have to say I'm kinda surprised Georges doesn't have a solid 4 stars. They're generally busy and seem quite popular. We've been going several times a year for probably a decade. George's has good solid pancakes (I love the Baklava pancakes). Their breakfast sandwich basic and yummy, they don't try and fancy it up. I am fairly disappointed in their omelette however. I like the flavor and filling options but they make the egg really thin and it's mostly filling, I like a better egg balance in an omelette. read more

This is definitely a popular place because it's the only breakfast game in town after other (in my opinion better) options closed down for redevelopment. We were told there was a wait of 45 minutes, but we were seated within about 15 minutes. Coming in, they are really crazy about enforcing masks and vaccination cards, and are so petty about not bringing outside food and drinks to your table (like that cup of coffee you may acquire nearby while waiting). OOooof - I have a lot to unpack. This place is awesome and it's great for Kirkland to have a greasy spoon type diner. Portions are giant. This for me isn't a good thing. I will eat through whatever is in front of me. Pac Man was big was I was a tyke and I learned from watching him. Yelp's classification of Greek, Mediterranean, and American Traditional - yeah, leave the others off, American Diner. Yeah they do a hybrid thing but let's make it easy on the yelp searchers- this is a greasy spoon diner. The food quality - this is not great BUT they are busy AF and it's a greasy spoon. Eggs were dry, chicken and waffles were... dry. Water was... dry. Ok I'm kidding about the water but not the food. It's not great but this I have to support the local diner. It was also PACKED. Traveling for business is often a grind. I can't count the number of times I've eaten mediocre breakfasts while living out of a suitcase. You would think that cooking some eggs (over easy,) grilling up some potatoes, frying some bacon and toasting an english muffin would be easy- but I assure you it is an acquired skill to deliver them all, at the same time hot and delicious. I had a breakfast on Saturday, delivered with many smiles and welcoming attitudes. The eggs were perfect, the potatoes were crunchy on the outside warm and delicious on the inside. Came to George's for brunch with the family. I have to say, I am not sure why we don't come here more often. They have TVs for those who want to watch the game, the place is clean and the staff is nice. Now for the food. My husband had the chicken and waffles and I have to say it was really good! The chicken was seasoned really well and the crunch on the breading was awesome. The waffles tasted like there was cinnamon in it which really brought out the combination of flavors of the chicken with the waffles. Personally i loved it. I kind of wanted to steal my husbands plate. I had the half order of the Western omelette which I still couldn't finish. It was perfect and the way they chopped the meats made it easy to cut and eat. And I love their hash browns. Hash browns are my weakness. My son had the kids French toast, which he loved. He finished the whole thing and he rarely finishes his plate. Our server was Jesus and he was very attentive and nice. He made sure we had everything we needed and we left very pleased. We will definitely be back soon! read more

The California omelette my mother enjoyed and said it was fluffy but the filling could have been cooked longer. The biscuits and gravy we got as a side and nor the biscuit or the gravy was worth getting. Bacon was very good and hash browns are pretty good as well. not bad food just not great food either. Really was excited to try this place. Hostess was on top of it and very attentive however our server was horrible. He didn't even come to our table until 20 mins after we were seated and we had to tell the hostess to grab him. Plus we had our one year old with us so you would think a server would have common sense to be somewhat quick about getting your order if there's a baby with you. When he finally showed up he didn't even say sorry for the delay or anything. The food was bland. George's is a great staple of downtown Kirkland, faithfully serving good food with friendly service. Weekend brunch might be a wait, but they take your phone number so you can grab a Starbucks around the corner while you wait. Excellent spot for outdoor seating before 1 PM if you have little ones who aren't yet vaccinated, but the huge open windows make the indoor seating safer too. We love their chicken and waffles or the lumberjack breakfast with some of everything. For me, the keto plate or the runner's omelette provides a healthy option. The Cobb salad has so much good stuff going on other than lettuce, you'll think you ordered a fantastic fresh grilled chicken bowl. I would give George's a straight forward 3 stars. We have been here twice - once during the breakfast hours and once more towards the lunch hour. Everything from the food to the service is a solid 3. First visit: the BF had and LOVED the Olympic Omelet that is made with Gyro meat (delish!), olives, onions, tomatoes & feta ($13.99 with toast and hashbrowns). This was fantastic and HUGE! 2 thumbs up. I had the Biscuits and Gravy - it came with 2 eggs any style and hashbrowns. I have to say...SO DISAPPOINTED from the top down. The biscuits were flat, dry and tasteless (oh, and not even warm). And the gravy was lackluster and sparse (okay - stingy!). I also asked for sliced tomatoes instead of eggs, and they were the end slices with a lot of stem and on the green side. With that said, the service was friendly, and decent. Give them another try...the BF loved his omelet... Second visit: the BF repeated his Olympic Omelet - smart move! It was after noon, so I decided to give the Santorini Grinder with fries a whirl. In a nutshell - HUGE. Same yummy meat as the omelet the BF is digging. Way too much sauce and feta for me - maybe those on the side? And, the fries were lukewarm - ARG! One thing I noticed on the 2nd visit as we dined at the counter - some food that was ready to go sat for a LONG TIME waiting to be delivered. Why? I have no clue. But that is clearly adding to the lukewarm temperature of the food that makes me crazy. All of these people swarming around - deliver the food! Really wanted a blood mary yesterday and found this place. Got the bacon Bloody Mary, had to wait for the bacon after our drinks came because it wasn't "done" yet. Either way, the bacon was delicious, the Bloody Mary was spicy (although I prefer mine spicier). Came for breakfast but ended up ordering lunch. I got the gyro with regular gyro meat (you can also ask for chicken), and Greek fries (waffle fries with feta). It was amazing! And HUGE. It was feta and tzatiki sauce galore (as well as lettuce tomato). At this point I realized this was a Greek restaurant. They have a special for each day of the week, and a special of the day for each meal (breakfast/lunch). They have a full bar, and happy hour as well. Received scratch tickets for a discount (or something) on our next visit, definitely will be back again. read more

Met some friend here for breakfast, when I sat at my table the hostess told me the iced coffee I had brought with me could not be in the restaurant. which I then asked what if I order coffee here with my breakfast? they said no it doesn't matter and made me take it outside the restaurant.
