    Fairly easy place to find!
    Basil M.

Good sized portions, I recommend the combos, they are a great value. Ordering sides is more expensive, but it won't break the bank either. Food was served hot and fresh... I really liked the pancakes, they rival any restaurant's, very hearty! The server Araceli (sp?) was very helpful and friendly. She not only kept our coffee mugs full, she also was quick to notice I had dropped my butter knife on the floor and brought me another one without being asked to do so. George the owner was also very friendly and thanked us for visiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the place was very clean and a comfortable dining environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Paying with cash and finding parking were not the end of the world, either. If you want breakfast, I'd recommend this place if you're near City Heights.

We came here solely based on the reviews. I was hoping for a decent experience because the reviews were pretty good. But unfortunately that wasn't the case. Service took longer than a typical small restaurant should. The pancakes we ordered were extremely tough to cut through and the burrito we ordered for a $13 was extremely small! Since Perry's in Old Town closed we have been looking for a breakfast restaurant to replace them which has been very hard to do because Perry's was really good. I would like to say good luck to George's Cafe and hopefully they can tighten up the loose ends and progress!

Always a friendly place. I had the spicy sausage breakfast. It was very good! If you want a better breakfast than a chain restaurant, then go here

I am so in love with this place! I come here almost 2 days a week during my lunch break from my work. People who work here are so dedicated to their work and very friendly and nice! Btw, their bacon cheese burger is a bomb! The price is reasonable! Who loves breakfast anytime of the day like me, please try this place

Is a small hole in the wall kind of place Parking may be a little difficult due to the few one way streets Expect on spending from 6-10 bucks a person which is dirt cheap for most breakfast I love it food is great

It can get pretty busy so come early to prep. Seating: Chill plenty of seating both inside and outside. Good for small groups with room for about 30 people. Vibes: Welcome to Normal Heights nothing too flashy, just plenty of local eateries and businesses. The spot itself is relatively clean, modern, pretentious. I dig the 90s house music in the background. This seems to be a trusted neighborly coffee shop with students are working, friends are catching up, and regulars seem to know the staff by name. It helps there's a pizza shop next door as well. FOOD / DRINKS Cherie Amour (Recommend) Delish. A latte with housemade cherry and almond syrup, and if you get it iced, it comes topped with a little cold foam. I dig the sweetness and the fruitiness of the cherry, it balanced out the bitterness of the coffee which was pretty cool. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. Sara helped contribute to the neighborhood feel of the place and made the experience easy and enjoyable. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good coffee, reasonable prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. I know there are plenty of coffeeshops in SD but this is a cool neighborly one. It doesnt seem like a trendy place but a place more in community and steady service. Till next time, Scrimshaw! TIPS * Try the seasonal drinks--they get creative.

I ordered a hot Mazapan Latte. I first noticed how smooth the coffee was. I immediately got the feeling of being wrapped in a cozy blanket. This was quite a comforting drink. I then noticed the nuttiness of the coffee. Presumably, the Mazapan aided in providing that flavor profile. I love nutty coffees, so that combined with sweetness automatically made this drink a winner to me. If I'm in the area, this might just be my go-to coffee shop. I look forward to my next visit!
