Breakfast is what I can eat all day every day. I like to try different places to see what their breakfast is all about. This morning I tried Mimi's Cafe. I ordered Hickory Smoked Bacon and Scrambled Eggs with Breakfast Potatoes as well as your choice of bread. Sourdough is always my choice. It goes for $17.99. This morning, I also ordered a Cookie Butter Latte. It was sweet and a great balance to all my savory breakfast items. I really enjoyed my breakfast and nothing was too try or overcooked. As usual, I ordered to go so the food was made quickly and was hot. I always appreciate friendly and fast service. The restaurant looked very clean. Mimi's Cafe also gives you a family morning breakfast place vibe that you can also get mimosas. That's on my list of things to try next from there. read more

We LOVE Mimi's. This place is just so delicious for breakfast! The turkey dinner is a must have. They roast that meat so perfectly and the gravy is delicious. Mimi's has always been a family favorite. Now that the kids are grown, visits allow for a better review of choices. This visit was to meet up with an old friend and we actually struggled with our choices because we wanted several items. Needless to say we have a reason to return. Attended another luncheon and the service was great for our group size. I wanted to try their Dubai pancakes, but they were out. So I ordered the Dubai muffin but again they were out. We were brave and ventured out for brunch on Mother's Day weekend and were lucky to get reservations at Mimi's Cafe. We were sitted 30 minutes after our reservation time. We were understanding as it was very busy for the special holiday, but the problem was we were sat outside in a very crowded room that had no room for chairs and so loud. Our waitress had so many tables, but she was the sparkle that made the experience better. She very quickly brought drinks and our food was overall tasty. We survived but probably will not repeat the experience of dining out here on Mother's Day. read more

Everything was delicious with my roast turkey dinner, it was fresh carved turkey breast with stuffing, cranberry sauce and my choice of two sides, I picked baked potato with butter sour cream and chives and green beans. Also splurged on an order of their carrot raisin madelines which are basically delicious muffin tops. The food was less than $20 as of fall 2025 which is a pretty good deal. For a few dollars more, I could have made it a 3 course meal with soup or salad and choice of dessert but I wasn't that hungry. The location I grew up with closed years ago, and others are closing too. I now understand why. Coming back here as an adult, I noticed there are two demographics that come here: kids and the elderly. The corn chowder is still great, let's get that clear, but the chicken tenders tasted frozen, bland, and there were way too many of them. This is a convenient location, near a large intersection in Mission Valley. The last time I came here was years ago and tried it again recently. Upon arrival, were greeted and sat right away, drink service was quick and throughout the whole meal, interacted with about 3 different employees. They do have happy hour M-F from 3-5pm and have a 3-course meal option for $30 which I chose. Listed below are the food items I got: - House Salad - Jambalaya over rice - Bread pudding - Mashed potatoes and gravy - Carrot raisin Madelines Everything I ordered was tasty! Even the carrot raisin Madeline's since I don't usually like carrots nor raisins baked in things much, but this was more like a bread served warm and with butter. As a huge lover of bread pudding, it was delicious! served warm with a whiskey sauce over it and whipped cream. Again, it had raisins but was able to avoid most of them. The prices definitely went up and the price of something like a sandwich was around $18 which was a little surprising, but then again everything is going up these days.
