Our house was missing a few storm windows, and had a few others due for replacement; I ordered up a set from Robertson's. The largest panes wouldn't fit in my little car, so I asked about delivery options; Robertson's doesn't deliver, but will give you a business card for Metro Delivery, which worked out just fine. Prices were on par with Home Depot or Lowe's, but the flexibility, responsiveness, and overall experience were a world better. The windows themselves are nicely made --- I wouldn't go as far as "works of art" as they're fairly low-tech (strips of gasket, mitre-cut aluminum), but reasonable materials and solid workmanship. Definitely my go-to for screens & windows, either normal-ish or very custom.

The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

Our family had our Garage Door replaces approximately 5 years ago. Right at the 5 year mark our…read moregarage ceased to work. It began to bend and bow, becoming unusable. Once this happened we contacted Dover and Company and they did not respond to us at all. It was at this point that we started a complaint with the BBB. We then reached back out to the company and they were willing to talk to us at that point. The owner stated that he would be willing to replace the garage door at cost. We indicated that moving forward with that option was not the company taking any responsibility they stated that they would be willing to replace the springs exchanging them with their heavier springs at their expense. We agreed to that and moved forward with getting them replaced. When the technicians from Dover come to our home they did not have the heavier and springs they tried to replace the existing springs with the same weight of springs that we had originally. The technician mentioned it and when we brought up the issue he had to contact his company to get the go ahead to replace the springs. Once that took place, the door was still not able to close. The Technician left at that point. We still did get a bill for this replacement!!! That is a large issue. Not only was it almost impossible to obtain meaningful assistance and a willingness to accept some accountability from Dover and Company but the replacement work was not what we were promised and then we received a bill when it was not warranted nor was the job completed. Dover and Company has proven to be not only dishonest but also does not stand behind their work.

We compared with several different companies and decided with John McCarter and I am glad we did. Our experience started with Clyde, who really did win this deal for them. He was the ONLY one who brought us any kind of mock up for our house, offered design suggestions, and even gave us advice for our roof for a future project. I highly suggest you ask for him. He explained the entire project and how it would work. Next we worked with James, who did final field measures. And double crossed the t's and dotted the i's to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted before they ordered. We very much appreciated this. While we were working with James, we had an attic inspection done by Jim who caught a leak in our attic! So added bonus, always better to find that sooner. When you have a project this large, things ARE GOING to go wrong. The important thing is how does the company handle things when they go wrong. And I can give nothing but the highest praise to this company and specifically our Project Manager John Giese in this regard. He always got in front of every issue, quickly communicated everything and kept the project on track The job is split into separate crews, Vas was the Forman for the actual siding. And to this day I can't believe how fast and efficient his crew was. The gutter team of Hunter, Aubrey, and Jason were quick and offered great guidance! Helped us consolidate a downspout! One less for me to step on! Tony came out and quickly fixed our before mentioned attic leak. Dan and Josh took fantastic care of us when installing all our doors. They spent extra time making sure they were PERFECT. They also did painting work to fix some issues with the siding. Julio and Jeicob made our house truly look BRAND NEW!

Frustrated I answer one and I'm connected with Isaac. I told him that it was already determined that they don't have what we want and to please stop calling. He asks what we were looking for and I tell him. He says "oh of course we have that!". At this time I'm seriously doubting him, but whatever. Scheduled a contractor to come out and take a look. Contractor gets to our house. He's friendly, knowledgeable but doesn't agree with what I want. He wants to put a $10k door and sidelight where I have a french door planned. Long story short, they dont have what I was looking for, they're pushy and don't take. I for an answer.

My husband received a call from someone at RBA who used high pressure sales tactics to get us to change or mind. When my husband said no, the rep became billegerint. We ended up having a fantastic experience with Weathergard. Stay far away from RBA!
