Billy Buckhannon came out 3 times last Winter to work on my furnace - the last time in March 2022…read more I only use my furnace when it's very cold as I have a gas fireplace. I turned on my furnace this year and it didn't work - again. So I called another company to look at my furnace this time. I was told that the ignitor put in last March was the wrong voltage - that it was an 80V instead of 120V. After doing some research I discovered that the 120V was the correct voltage because the furnace's board was replaced (by Billy) in December; otherwise the 80V would have been correct. Seemed like an honest mistake, so I called Billy to ask him to install the correct part. Instead of apologizing for installing the wrong part, he took no responsibility for the error. He said it was an honest mistake that he was given the wrong part. I agreed, but explained that I shouldn't have to pay for the same service again because he installed the wrong part and that he should make it right. By this time, he was SHOUTING at me over the phone that it wasn't his fault and that it was over the 30 day labor warranty. He was yelling at me and acting as though I was being unreasonable by asking him to install the correct part. He finally yelled that if it would "appease" me, I could send him the bill for the labor for the repairs and he would reimburse me for the labor. That I could send the wrong part that he installed back to the parts company as it was under warranty. By this time I told him I didn't like how he was speaking to me and hung up. It is inconceivable to me that an HVAC professional would install the wrong part and then become angry when asked to correct his mistake. I would recommend that you use another company if you need HVAC work and ensure that they stand by their work. People make mistakes, we all do, but how you react in those instances is a matter of character. Billy reacted poorly.

Excellent customer service. I had initially considered converting to a heat pump for efficiency…read more Eric came, assessed our situation, and offered a few options. We came to the conclusion that upgrading wouldn't be worth it. A heat pump would require a new electrical panel, there were no incentives as I'm propane & not electric, and the duct work is not set up for AC. I wasn't pressured or upsold to a system that would be of no benefit to me but would have made them a tidy profit. We did however, decide that my 25 year old furnace was on it's last legs & needed to be replaced. An appropriate sized unit was chosen. The installers arrived on Monday and finished it in one day. There was a glitch in the exhaust plumbing that was discovered a few days later. I called and since it was late in the day, said that tomorrow would be OK. A technician was there in an hour. He called the office and told them it would take a couple of hours to fix. Once again, I said tomorrow would be OK as we have wood heat too. He got it all fixed then had to run off to another call. The thermostat wasn't working right and they sent someone all the way out to reprogram it. I couldn't ask for better service. Maybe I could have gotten a better price, I didn't check but for what they've done it was worth what I paid. Good solid company after the sale.

Overall it's a shame that Steve, the owner, is so rude and challenging when you ask a question…read moreabout the charges. Hard to believe, but he spoke harshly and hung up on me when I asked why there was an additional $99 charge. I even said I was not refusing the payment; I just wanted an explanation. That said, Morgan, the technician that reset the button (literally all needed), was lovely, thorough, and pleasant. My system is old and will need to be replaced; however, Steve got his wish - I paid the additional $99 and will never do business with Earthwise again, and I hope you will not either. Rude behavior is the last thing a customer should expect, especially from the owner. Note: Steve could have fixed this with a callback, a simple explanation, or an apology for his rude comments and hang-up. One can hope he may read this review and do better in the future. .

The garage is cool and the rest of the house is hot, especially upstairs. I noticed a two inch gap around a cover . The wrong cover had been installed and just taped on rather than getting screwed on. No tape I can find will hold it on and the air pressure forces it open again. I called Earthwise to have them fix it. My first call was May 18. They didn't call back. Two more calls in the next week got me the reply of "We are busy". They need to make this good by getting the correct part or fabricating one. The AC unit was well over $3000. I have made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

We bought a home that had a new furnace installed one year before purchase. Sadly, I am having to write a new review and revoke my earlier review from 2015-2016. Five years…read moreand three weeks after they installed my AC unit, it failed, due to a faulty coil (that could only handle so many pounds of pressure that had been increased (by two times) to comply with industry standards, but without fortifying the coil); this added stress in the system, causing multiple ruptures--that leaked ALL the coolant. So basically I now have a $5K fan. This contractor did not file my warranty paperwork with the manufacturer; the "five year" warranty expired just weeks earlier, and the manufacturer chose to ignore / void; it would have been a 10-year warranty, had Frank's done their job and filed my paperwork with the manufacturer. I was crushed. Frank's sons did the work, and Frank had to come out three times to service it to keep it working. I think he knew it would fail, ultimately, and felt bad. The family (Frank and sons) have been out of business since a few years after they installed this unit, for which I paid over $5,200. As a new homeowner without a lot of experience, I thought they were great, but unfortunately, the failed part caused the AC unit to blow warm air. It was a known issue with the part, which is probably why the deal was so agreeable. They left exposed hoses and pipes everywhere, without taping things off. I had to fix a bunch of things that looked awful (by taping them and securing them from hanging from the ceiling and walls). Although they were timely and easy to work with, I've had a broken AC unit for several years, and they're not only no longer in business and unreachable: the unit will cost more to repair than replace. I was utterly grief-stricken over this. Never again with these people. Avoid them. AVOID THEM.
