Ordered take out from the Pearlridge Genki Sushi because the wait is always long so it was more convenient to just order and pick up. First off, I had the most difficult time online ordering. And when I was finally able to do so and I went to check out, it said that online ordering was closed. That wasted about 15 minutes of trying to order. So then I ended up calling the store to order and the guy who answered the phone was so nice! He was very nice and helpful and I was able to order at ease. Way better than online. When I got to the restaurant to pick up our order, it was perfect timing because they were packing up our order. I wanted to add onto my order and get the two different sea snail nigiri but they were out of both. I was so sad but that probably was a sign that I didn't need it. Lol the inside of the restaurant was really crowded and there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. So I'm glad we ordered over the phone so we didn't have to wait to dine in. I enjoy Genki Sushi but I have to be in the mood to wait or take out is the way to go so it's ready soon after you place your order.

Can't go wrong with fast and convenient sushi . Genki Sushi is the place located inside the Pearl ridge uptown right across from the food court downstairs. This particular location used to be upstairs now they moved downstairs. Service was ok this place you'll need to order through the QR code on your phone . Support local

    T/O Chicken Karaage Bento

I ordered takeout from Genki Sushi and got the chicken karaage bento. It came with rice, cucumber and takuan (yellow pickled radish) sushi, tofu, seaweed salad, and the chicken was served on a bed of iceberg lettuce. The portion was super generous -- definitely more than enough for one person! I did add a side of sushi, but honestly, I could've skipped it and still been full. The food was fresh, tasty, and nicely packed for takeout. The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, and I really appreciated the variety in the bento -- it felt like a well-balanced meal. The only downside was the wait time. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for my takeout order, which felt a bit long, especially for sushi and a bento box. So just a heads-up if you're trying to grab something quick. Overall, a solid takeout option with good food and great portions. I'll definitely be back -- just maybe not when I'm in a hurry. I give this place three stars because the quality is not the best sushi and they were slow.

It's been quite a while since the last time I ate here! My friend wanted to eat at Genki so we did take out during lunch time on a weekend. I was expecting a longer wait time, but it took about 10 mins ish which I think is pretty good! Of course, the portions got smaller and the prices are higher, BUT the food still tasted the same. I ordered pretty basic things this time - spicy cali roll, inari, tamago and my friend shared her kabocha tempura with me. Everything was so so GOOD. Not a lot of sushi places have good tamago where the egg is sweet, but Genki has the sweet tamago which makes me super happy! I'll definitely be coming back soon, hopefully eat in next time :)

Five stars. The food is always great. Had the ahi poke bowl and garlic chicken. Always a winner. The service is super efficient and great. Always attentive. The ambiance is cool. Again, efficient and clean. Always enjoy Genki.

We haven't eaten at Genki Sushi since 2016 when they had the outbreak of Hepatitis. We really loved it before but stayed away for 9 years. Well we decided to check out the Pearlridge location for lunch on a Tuesday. We ordered a variety of sushi such as a spicy tuna bowl, natto roll, ika with rayu, onion salmon, spicy tuna, and fried squid. Everything tasted good and it came out really quick. We had to ask for new cups of tea because the first cups were room temperature. We like our hot tea to be steaming hot. The workers were nice and came to refill tea and water often. There are a lot of workers there. The place is very popular and it filled up pretty quickly. So, everything tasted good but about 15 minutes after I ate, I had to use the restroom. Something must've been bad because I had to go 3 times after having lunch there. Dunno if I will go back because I definitely ate something that did not agree with me.

We went to Genki fornthe first time in over a decade. Quickly realized why we haven't missed it. The prices are hugh for such small portions. The karaage dunkan is extremely underwhelming. The salmon karaage is disappointing. The tan tan ramen is salty and does not have ahunt of being tan tan. The noodles are chewy, in a bad way. The other items we ordered are equally sub-par. I do not recommend Genki - especially not worth waiting in line for.

Service was very good. Food and prices were ok. So good for family. Ordering is by smartphone. Scan QR code and it takes you to the ordering link. Menu has pictures so it was good and it was easy to used. Your order comes on a train. And after picking up the other you need to press the button above. We didn't know that but a server came right over and explained to us. She was very nice. Most of the part the restaurant was clean. That's why I'm giving 3 instead of 4.

I like that you scan the QR code to get a table, to me it's fast & simple. No need to worry if your name accidentally gets crossed out or anything. Plus you can see how many parties are before you & can go walking around until you get the text your table is ready. To order is by phone as well, scan QR code at the table & add what you want. The food comes quick depending what you order. I think if you order anything with soup, the servers bring it to you. The rest of the food comes straight from the kitchen on a train thingy, that our son loves to watch lol. We usually order the same things - spicy tuna bowl, teriyaki chicken bowl, miso soup, tamago udon, edamame, spicy ebi fry tempura roll... we've never had a problem with our food. The only downfall is that most items you cannot request no green onions. We don't really care for the green onions so we just take it off when we get the food. Other than that, food, water & hot teas are great!

Looking for sushi and comfort food? I still can't believe I hadn't tried Sushi Spot in Aiea sooner…read more This place was recommended to me by a co-worker and wow! It absolutely did not disappoint. Safe to say I'll be wondering why I waited so long! We ordered quite a variety and every dish brought something delicious to the table. The Red Spider (soft shell crab, crab meat, romaine lettuce, cucumber, avocado, and tobiko) was incredible. Every single bite was packed with flavor and texture. That crispy soft shell crab added the perfect crunch that made this roll hard to stop eating. The Black Spider (soft shell crab, crab meat, cream cheese, romaine lettuce, cucumber, and avocado) was an interesting twist from the Red Spider. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was equally delicious. The cream cheese gave it a richer, creamier bite that worked surprisingly well. Next up was the Chicken Katsu Curry. Japanese-style curry with veggies and crispy chicken katsu over rice. The chicken was beautifully crispy, exactly how katsu should be. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired perfectly with the rich curry. The veggies were cooked just right too. Overall, a really satisfying dish. The Spicy Ahi Handroll was another winner. You really can't go wrong with this one. It was fresh, flavorful, and honestly disappeared within two bites. Yum! Then came the Pork Katsu Donburi with scrambled eggs, veggies over rice, drizzled with their amazing house sauce. Just like the chicken, the pork katsu was delicious. But can we talk about that sauce? Perfecto. I'm not sure what's in it, but it tied the entire dish together beautifully. And of course, dessert! The Fried Oreo with Ice Cream. It came with vanilla ice cream surrounded by deep-fried Oreo and drizzled with chocolate syrup. It was yuuuuummy! Hands down, I would order this again. Do not pass up this dessert. From sushi rolls to katsu dishes and ending on a sweet note, Sushi Spot completely exceeded expectations. Great flavors, satisfying portions, and multiple dishes I'd happily order again. If you've been driving by this place and saying, "I'll try it one day," take this as your sign. This spot is an absolute must try!

We got smoked out and it got bad to the point where my eyes were getting watery. Not sure if this happens all the time at this spot- this was my first time. The service was okay. We waited over 10 minutes to get cups of water and to put in our order. I totally get that they were short handed which also explains why it took almost 40 minutes for us to be served. Ordered the Negi-Hamachi to try something different. Hamachi is my favorite fish served sashimi style so I decided to switch it up and order the Negi-Hamachi which is finely chopped, yellow-tail with green onion and wasabi over sushi rice served with tsukemono and miso soup. I was super happy with this because the Hamachi was delicious and surprisingly, I did not feel bloated or too full afterwards.

There is something deeply confusing about Mitch's Fish Market & Sushi Bar…read more Not bad confusing.Worse. Identity-crisis confusing. Because the fish?Excellent. Cold, clean, glistening with that dangerous little shimmer that tells you somebody in the supply chain actually cared. You can taste the quality immediately. The kind of quality that silences a table for half a second. And credit where it is due: almost everything I tried ranged from very good to genuinely great. But then the room begins speaking. And suddenly the spell breaks. The atmosphere feels like someone took a serious sushi counter, stripped away all sensuality, all elegance, all ritual, then dropped it inside a fluorescent island diner where exhausted civilians came to discuss parking validation and Costco receipts. It is the culinary equivalent of wearing a Rolex with orthopedic sneakers. The contradiction never stops humming beneath the experience. You sit there eating beautiful fish while surrounded by an energy that feels strangely... transactional. Heavy. Casual in the least flattering way. A room with no mystery. No seduction. No gravity. Like Zippy's accidentally wandered into the tuna trade and struck gold. And on an island like Oahu, where atmosphere matters almost as much as the fish itself that becomes a real problem. Because sushi is not merely consumption. It is theater.Restraint.Texture.Whispered precision. The best sushi spots on Oahu understand this instinctively. They understand that exceptional fish alone is not enough. You are paying for transportive experience. For mood. For elegance. For the feeling that the evening exists slightly outside ordinary life. At Mitch's, the fish reaches for Tokyo while the room drags you back toward a tired strip mall off the freeway. And then there's the crowd. Not evil people. Not rude people. Just an oddly low-rent energy orbiting genuinely premium seafood. The kind of room where one table is eating remarkable otoro while another feels one argument away from discussing used-car financing over soy sauce packets. It creates dissonance. Especially considering the prices. Because at those prices, you begin comparing the full experience not merely the fish quality and that is where Mitch's stumbles hard. There are multiple sushi spots across Oahu that equal or surpass the seafood while also delivering beauty, atmosphere, intimacy, and actual emotional texture. So what remains is this strange contradiction: Mitch's serves fish far above the dignity of its own ambience Which almost makes it fascinating. Would I be back - no . You can get same and better quality fish, much better vine, better part of town for the same Price.

I decided to finally go out of my usual choices and try Ginza out. Ginza is located in the main ward building (the one with the theater), on the side, between Men's Warehouse and L&L. We got seated fairly quickly and was given water. Upon ordering we were also given edamame to nom on while we waited. We also decided to order two rolls, an AAB combo set to try a variety of things and fried calamari for food measure. We got: * Jen's Paradise: 9.7/10, heavily recommend. I was really craving sear salmon and it definitely helped to satisfy that craving. I didn't realize that the roll part itself ONLY has shrimp tempura within the nori (no crab salad, avo, etc). * Bomb: 8/10, clearly I lacked my reading comprehension skills this day because I didn't realize that this was baked... so when it came out and the entire roll was fully cooked I was heart broken. It tasted good, just not what I particular want at a sushi restaurant. * Chicken Karaage: 5/10. I do NOT recommend this. They remined me of mochiko chicken, but these were not very meaty or flavorful. * Fried Calamari: 10/10, fried to perfectly in my opinion, each piece was plump and delicious. * Miso Butterfish: 8.9/10, it was good, flaky and flavorful. Just not something I would order again, but it was good to try esp it is something they're supposedly known for. * Mixed Tempura: 10/10, yum I love mixed tempura, no notes, it was hot and crunchy. I would like to mention that our wait was quite long. I don't know why because they weren't like SUPER busy. It took 10-15 for us to get the miso soup and salad for the combo. +5 for the calamari, +5 for the first roll then a few minutes after for the rest. I feel like 15-20 minutes for our first actual item (calamari) to come is kind of crazy, it kept being brought to the wrong table (2-3 times). Our server apologized so its not a huge deal. Otherwise, I still enjoyed our experience. I would definitely come back again to try the rolls I would enjoy more (utilizing my reading skills a bit better LOL).
