Genki Ramen, Oh So Yummy! We stopped in late evening on February 14th... which, in hindsight, may not have been the best idea since it was Valentine's Day and the place was packed! The poor waiter was running everywhere trying to keep up with the crowd, he still managed to give great service. The food, however, was beyond tasty. I love a good ramen and this one definitely delivered. The broth was warm and comforting exactly what I was craving. The restaurant itself is very small and quaint, that just adds to the charm. Ordered takeout from here. Christmas 2025 My boyfriend got the beef teriyaki bowl which was substantial and delicious. The beef was very tender. I got the Yaki Udon, Japanese stir- fried thick chewy noodles with cabbage, onion, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, which was in a fantastic sauce and I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. It's some of the best udon noodles I've had for a while. Would like to try this place as a sit down but we unfortunately are tourist so we've now left St. George! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the bamboo shoots were tender and the egg was a bit runny and delicious, perfection. Highly recommend! I give it a 4.6 overall. I was very pleasantly surprised by this ramen shop in St George. I got the black garlic ramen and it was a perfect bowl. Super rich and flavorful broth, needs were cooked to perfection, the egg was soft boiled and marinated just right. The chashu was tender but not melty tender, charred nicely and flavored just right. You can choose your level of spice and I chose spicy but it wasn't spicy, I get it, Japanese cuisine isn't spicy, but don't offer the option. I also got the soft shell crab bun and marinated cucumber as apps. The cucumber was mid, the bun was delicious, perfectly fried and flavorful and not overly sauced which is something a lot of restaurants tend to do. The Black Garlic ramen had a tonkatsu broth base. Next time I would add on more soup base. Garlicky and delish. Same with the Chicken Tatsuta which was a shoyu base. I added tofu to my soups. I am a flavorful broth person and this place hit the spot. 100%. The shrimp tempura did not seem to be the store bought pre-battered kind. Best local ramen I've had. Flavor was great and good portions for the price. We also had an order of Spicy Wontons that weren't really that spicy but as far as the ramen went I was very satisfied. Everything we have had has been amazing. Black garlic ramen is probably the best I have ever had. I also love the chicken ramen. The yakisoba was a little too sweet and saucy for me, but still good. Recently tried the house fried rice and was so happy we did. We have been looking for great fried rice and had given up, but this is perfect! We go almost weekly and have tried the majority of the menu. We did have one experience that was ridiculous. My ramen was given to the wrong table and instead of making mine again quickly and delivering it, they put it at the end of the line. By the time I received my bowl it was 40+ minutes after the rest of the table received theirs and they were done and ready to leave. The crazy part was they delivered the other tables ramen (who showed up 20 mins after us) their ramen and they left before I got mine. We haven't been back since, but the food is fantastic and the service is generally great. That experience has just made hard to go back. read more

I tried the tonkotsu ramen and I think it's good but not the best I've tried. And I also tried the beef terryaki and it was very good.

I lived in Kumamoto and Fukuoka Japan which are known for their ramen and they also serve great tonkatsu, which I love. So I am always looking for these two great food items when I travel, hoping to find the same taste and quality as I found in Japan. Genki (great name BTW) has pretty good ramen, the best in St George. It's not quite the quality as in Japan where ramen broths take over a day to make and cook, but it is really close. If you're ever in NYC, try Ichiran or Ippudo if you want absolutely authentic ramen but if you're in St George try Genki Ramen. Oh, and the tonkatsu is best around as well and satisfies my occasional longing for good Japanese food along with the ramen. Good food and good service. read more

Went there with my fiancé on the very first day. It was maybe 40 minutes before closing, and they were very welcoming and super nice. The decor is outstanding and the food was delicious.
