Road tripping to Zion and found this gem! I ate here 2 out of 3 times we were in Utah and wish I could bring some back with me. This is definitely a no-frills, order at the counter and get your own utensils type of place. The food here tastes how I would imagine a Korean auntie would make at home. The dinner boxes are loaded with a little bit of everything, and they are incredibly priced at about $15-$20 depending on the protein for a huge amount of food! I tried the spicy pork bulgogi and the spicy chicken dinner boxes. The spicy pork definitely has a kick if you can't do spice. After the spicy pork bulgogi, the spicy chicken tasted pretty mild if you're looking for something less spicy. I truly enjoyed everything in the dinner box and would definitely get it again. The spicy pork bulgogi kimbap ($10) is also delicious if you're looking for something a little lighter, and the portion will have you pretty stuffed. I got both types of tteokbokki (rice cake) that they have. Both were delicious, but my favorite dish is the creamy tteokbokki. Think Korean carbonara--creamy, chewy, and indulgent. Both are $10 each and you can't go wrong with either one if you're in the mood for tteokbokki. During my last meal here, I told them how much I enjoyed the food and the nice auntie came out to say hello. She was so sweet and even gave me a free ice cream! I LOVED this place. The cutest little lunch box stacked high with rice, noodles, kimchi, fried tofu and mandu. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. We came during a lunch rush so service was slow (2 person operation) but worth the wait. Super affordable and decent portions, if I lived here it would be a regular spot for me. read more

No complaints about the service or restaurant itself. The food? Not so great. Everything was over peppered and the bulgogi was on the tougher side. The veggie tempura fritters were the highlight, they were one of the banchan dishes that came on our plates. I was surprised at all the high ratings on yelp and google and I can see why! The owners are so incredibly friendly and the food tastes homemade. I thoroughly enjoyed the mackerel lunch combo, it includes Kimchi, salad, 1 pot sticker, some deep fried veggies and a little baggie of kim (seaweed)! The owners/cooks are very, very nice. Service is a little slow (food was not ready at our ordered-ahead scheduled time, but that's not a deal breaker), but they definitely care about what they make. It's definitely home style cooked food, but most everything was heavily peppered (the japchae/clear noodles, the bulgogi...), we personally don't prefer to use as much pepper at home w these dishes. Some of the sauces felt a little heavy (spicy fried chicken, spicy pork bulgogi, spicy tteokbokki). My kids loved the pork belly, and the creamy tteokbokki was a fun spin to try. The lunchboxes are probably the best deal, and the kalbi was probably the best meat option aside from the pork belly. For me, this reminded me of Korean market food court food. Decent and will satisfy if you are craving and stuck out in UT, but would not go out of my way to get it. I know, I'm spoiled by our options in AZ and CA. read more

Korea Picnic is like walking into a casual eatery in Seoul or other Korean town. The countryside mural and hand-painted walls feel like home. And the best indicator of authentic food is native Koreans filling the tables. Don't let the simplicity of the outdoor sign and entrance deter you. They have absolutely traditional menu items from the bulkogi options to bibimpap to the array of the best kimchi and they even black rice (which is a rarity in restaurants in America, but we LOVE it). You can also get traditional Korean drinks, snacks, and ice cream. Was happy to see the fish shaped waffles that are traditional street food. This is not a place for a quick bite. This is slow food. And that is more than all right. This is a family run eatery that has authentic Korean food. Eat in or take out, plan on your food preparation taking some time. It will be worth it. The bulgolgi and the tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) were both delicious. The lunch box came with sweet potato noodle, kimchi and what looked like radish pickle, egg, mandu, rice and salad. The spicy rice cake is indeed spicy, and surprisingly was still hot temperature wise when I got it back to the hotel. Next time, I'll order in advance to minimize the wait. Another St George gem. Run by a Korean family, they treat you right when you dine here. Cute paintings on the wall. The food is authentic and delicious. You can get all the Korean classics here. They have lunch tray options that's very nostalgic of school lunches, but with legit Korean cuisine. I got the beef bulgogi and that did not disappoint. What an amazing find! We stopped by for lunch on our way back to Vegas from Zion and it was perfect! My boyfriend and I were craving Korean food and it hit the spot. What a gem. Passing through St. George on one of my many trips through Utah, and stopped here for lunch. What a surprising and amazing spot. Being from LA we have access to all variations and levels of Korean food. This spot would do well in LA and I hope it thrives here.
