I don't know if I could write a review that is enough to say how much these guys mean to me. Being a customer not used to dealing with more than one big project with my mom's home (Reroof in 2022 was the first), I am not well-versed in things like most out there when it comes to hiring contractors. We needed a service panel upgrade from 100 Amp to 200 Amp. Gene, the owner of Genius Electric & Cabling from DAY ONE has been there for myself and my family for my mom's project. The guy is just fantastic, professional, yet personable and friendly. The very beginning, during my quote requests on here he has been upfront about what to expect where the rest of those whom responded either ignored my request for an "on-site quote" to give a real evaluation and estimate rather than just a canned one. He let me know about needing SCE to come out to approve the panel location (it would be in the same spot as the old one, but is still required), the other hopeful contractor that came out made zero mention of this, nor permits and was pushing me to give him the job for the following Saturday (three days after I started getting quotes). Red flag. Thank God Gene was there. He does not hard sell. He does not sit in judgment of how your house might look. He makes you comfortable, he gives you information and he allows you time to decide if you are comfortable with having his company do the work. We agreed with his quote, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Believe me, the openness and honesty from Gene and the vibe the guy gave me was more than enough for me to consider him & his company. Gene had Cristian and Troy show up to start the project, working outside and under the house (Sorry, Troy! lol) Both guys impressed me with their friendliness and work ethic. They stayed until that panel was in and the lights were back on for us. Likely hungry and possibly getting wife aggro (Thanks guys). Rains of course slowed some things down, that happens, soon as the timing window opened for them to complete the job, Cristian (if I am misspelling your name, blame Gene it's his spelling he gave me before you guys came out lol) and Jordan showed up to complete the work yesterday and came by today to wait for the inspector. Genius came through and got it done. We just had our inspection with the city and I heard the inspector say "perfect!" Awesome! Now I can finally take a nap & relax lol. My experience with Genius Electric, Gene and the guys I would NOT hesitate at all to refer them to my friends and family or you, the reader of this review. Just remember, treat others as you want to be treated. These guys are great guys and will do whatever they can to make the experience as easy for you as possible. Genius Electric recently installed some new exterior lighting and receptacles and upgraded some interior lighting. My experience with them was outstanding. Gene showed up exactly on time for the initial free estimate and took his time to work out how he'd handle the job and provide lots of advice. He provided a very competitive bid, and itemized the costs in detail so I could see exactly what each part of the work would cost. Once I decided to move forward he was able to start the work within a few days. During the work, the whole team was friendly and courteous and communicated well whenever they had updates or questions. They remembered and checked off every item on the quote -- I didn't have to remind of anything. They also spent a lot of unexpected time working through some old, faulty wiring in the house and came back the next day to follow up and make sure everything was working properly (at no extra cost). Hi, my name is Marcus E. And I like to give a special thank to Gene and his electrical technician Henry for the great work that they did at my house. I was in such a panic in the morning when I woke up I had a 1/3 of my house dead with no power. I called Gene the owner of Genius Electrical at 5 AM in the morning and he answered within a few rings. He gave off some good vids with a respectable tone and truly understood the issues that I was going through. Which was appreciated. After he had a full understanding of the problems that I was having he immediately said he would check with one of his guys and send them over ASAP to help with the repairs and text back on his arrival. The Problem - I had an electrical panel from my main breaker box that had the a few wires fused together and could have caused a fire to my home inside the box. The wires fused together in a way where you couldn't tell what breakers needed to be shut down. I gave Gene a few picture to review and he sent the right man for job. Henry came out to my house at about 7:45 AM that morning and repair the job within a few hours. Henry took me step-by-step on how he was actually going to mitigate problem and shut the power off to the entire house and restore power to my home to make sure everything is safe. I was very happy with his work. Genius is a great company that provides excellent workmanship and professionalism that is currently at a all time low in working force today. Gene and his son are life savers! I had initially called another company out to fix my power issue where I lost power in half my house. They brought the power back on by using my exposed ground wire to tie it to my neutral wire then told me I had to rewire my house. I reached out to Gene for an estimate and he became concerned about my ground wire being tied to the neutral so he offered to come out and take a look to give me a better estimate of what actually needed work. He untied the ground wire from my neutral, which could have been a fire hazard and burn my whole house down, did the actual diagnostic work and found out exactly where I had a loose wire. He fixed it and I paid him but as he was driving away, I had to call him back. He did more diagnostic and found that one of my outlet was burned. He replaced that outlet for me. He was very knowledgeable and very willing to teach and share his knowledge. He was also very thorough with the work and made sure everything was done correctly. I didn't need to rewire my house, he found the issue and fixed it. He didn't try to over sell me. He is very honest and his price is very reasonable. I would highly recommend him.
