I did not have very high hopes for this place going in, so maybe that is why I ended up liking it so much. We went to lunch here on the advice of a friend. The system is rather janky, and they go overboard telling you that the system is new and then explaining it. Basically you wait to be seated, are taken to a table, then you wait. Sooner or later someone will come around and take your drink order and then show you 3 sizes of bowls. You select your bowl size, then they leave the table to return later with your bowls and a business card that they write your name on. Why can't I use use the ones you brought? Why do I need to sit first? Where is my drink? Why can't you put my table number on the card instead of my name? The "new system" makes me wonder how bad the old system was that made them feel like this was an improvement. Anyway, once you get your bowl you then have to get back up and head to the line, which is a buffet of raw food to put into your stir fry. The selection is very nice. Beef, pork, chicken, scallops, fish, pepperoni (really?), sausage, are all represented. One glaring omission is shrimp. *pro-tip- load your bowl up high. I use carrot slices to build walls over the edge of my bowl so I can fit more in it. One nice touch is the spices, which are plentiful and varied so you can spice your meat to your taste. Once you finish loading your bowl, you select a start. They have several rices, noodles, and even chips or cabbage to choose from. If they forget to ask, which they usually do, be sure to add a fried egg. Then return to your seat to wait for your stir fry to be done. Usually around 10 min. The quality of what comes back has been excellent, and that is the reason I have returned 3 times in 2 weeks. read more

At first I was always afraid to pack it too full because I was unsure, but my boyfriend remedied that quick! You get what you pay for as long as you're able to LIVE ON THE EDGE. So edgy. My normal bowl: * Scallops * Krab (Yes, K-rab) * Calamari rings * (sometimes) Marinated fish * Cabbage * Bean sprouts * Bamboo shoots * Mushrooms * Onions * Island teriyaki sauce * Ginger seasoning * Citrus garlic herb seasoning * Double udon noodles (you get double with no extra charge Sometimes I get a drink while I sit at the bar and wait for my food to be ready. When an employee tells you that pork is supposed to be pink in the middle you know you're in the wrong place. That's exactly what I was told when I asked that my bowl be put back on the grill to make sure the pork in it was cooked through. Because of this I won't be back to this location. I love ghengis but I don't love being sick from under cooked pork. I'm disappointed in the employee's attitude that it was perfectly acceptable to eat under cooked pork and also that he expected me to just go along with it. Once at your table they tell you who your server will be and ask if you would like any appetizers, so if you do they can get them cooking! It's very efficient. Your server comes and takes your drink order and explains how to build your bowl if you have never been before. Building your own bowl has never been easier, from meat lovers to veggie lovers, you get exactly what you want. You add the perfect amount of seasonings and sauce to match your taste. Once you get to the end of building your bowl, you tell your grill master which starch you would like with your bowl, if any. Be sure to tell them if you have any special requests or food allergies they need to take into consideration when cooking your bowl, such as cooking it away from other bowls if you are allergic to fish. When you get back to your table from building your bowl your appetizer and drinks await you! Your awesome server will come by and check on you to make sure you were able to build your bowl to your liking, your appetizer is great, and your drink orders are correct! One star is only for the waitress that waited on us tonight, because of the embarrassment she must felt with the horrible conditions this restaurant provides for customers and the way she handled herself, someone needs to hire her and get her out of there fast. The following items are why we are never going back to the location in Moore: Dirty sticky floors, you stick to the floors everywhere. Dirty tables and booth seats, had to ask for a napkin to wipe them off before we sat down. Dirty glasses, found something floating in mine after several drinks from it. The food was okay not great, stopped eating after I found the floaty in my drink. I sure hope the management reads this review and makes changes to the establishment soon or someone is going to get sick (praying it is not us tonight from the meat we had). read more

Not impressed with the Cook for the following.... 1. Ordered a signature bowl and it too forever to get it. Other people that came in after us got there food before me. 2. When I got it It was missing the dry noodles that comes on the signature bowls. 3. When I got my medium size meal was just the same size as the small the my wife got. 4. the management is horrible. they barely keep the air conditioning on. it has been hot every time we go. they only have 2 waiters at a time which they are good but the manger sits down folding napkins while people wait at the door to be seated. the food being cooked is slow. meat may not be at correct temperature to be sitting out and the area you get your food from is disgusting. read more

Food is completely amazing, but what kills this place is their waiting staff! I got my food so quick, but all the waiters take forever to check on the table! All their job requires them to do is fill up drinks, but even that is too hard. They just stand by the front and socialize. We went at 7:00 on a Saturday and there were only three tables of people there (including us). My husband had to get my own to-go box for me and we had to flag someone else's waiter down so we could pay and leave. No one could find our waiter so the manager had to come over and tab us out. We waited about 20-25 minutes for our food. Very crowded and litlte room to move about the restaurant. The flow seems really crazy. You get your bowl then have to go pick out the ingredients but you have to wind your way through the restaurant, past people waiting for a table. It just seems awkward. Waitress was great! As a vegan, I was skeptical about cross contamination, but now they have tofu and toooons if veggie options so I really wanted to at least come in and ask. PLUS, they sent me a coupon for a free bowl for my birthday! :D It's been over 2 years since I've eaten at Genghis Grill and if every location is as helpful as this one when I told them that I was "vegetarian" and didn't want my food to touch meat, then I will definitely be back! I watched the cook scrub and clean the grill very good before my food was placed on the grill. They even put a lid over the top just in case anyones food with meat was placed next to mine! Also, the tofu is next to the veggies in the line so that they dont get accidentally contaminated and all of the sauces are labeled clearly with allergies so that way I was able to avoid all dairy!! I enjoy the food here because you can pick what you like, but I don't believe I'll be back to the Moore location. The last two visits we made, the host staff stunk. This time it was our server. I waited tables for a couple of years and have never stiffed a server before, but tonight we did. I don't understand being a bad server at a restaurant where you neither place nor deliver the food order. Drinks and the check - that's all you have to do. From the moment I walked through the door I knew this experience was going to be great. We were immediately greeted and sat at a table. This was our first visit to Genghis Grill and Britney, our server, explained to us the process and gave us great suggestions on how to make a great meal. I went for the chicken and beef. My girlfriend went for scallops and calamari. We both were able to put veggies in that we liked. I like spicy food and my girlfriend doesn't. That's no problem at Genghis Grill. There is a ton of sauce options to choose from, some spicy, and some sweet. Both our bowls tasted great and came out piping hot. James, the manager, came by during our meal to check on us and was very nice. It was a great experience and I definitely plan to visit this store again. We drove all the way from Yukon to eat at the location in Moore - when we first got there it wasn't very busy but we were told it would be a 45 minute wait - after driving more then 30 minutes we were fine with the wait . After sitting for 30 minutes a waitress comes over to my family and says they are very understaffed and there are only 2 servers , one working tables, the other on break. She advised they were about to switch so the second server could get a break & just stood there looking at us . So we said advised we were fine with waiting until he was done with his break and that we would wait. The lady very rudely told us we needed to either take food to go or we had leave . We asked why we were told we were okay to wait and now suddenly we have to take food to go , she rolled her eyes and walked away . We packed up our children and exited the establishment, as we were walking out another large family walked in and was immediately seated . I'm so confused as to why we were told to go - our children we quietly watching Superman playing on the tv as we waited. I know times are hard and people aren't working but it makes no sense to have families waiting , only to basically be told we have to go , and then to see another family walk in as we're leaving to be able to be seated . I have been to this and other Genghis Grills and used to love them. I'd normally give them four or five stars but the two stars are for the new changes that they made. The chicken used to be cut in small strips but is now in pretty large pieces which makes them kind of unpleasant in your bowl. They also replaced the steak with sliced beef, along with downgrading the quality of veggies. All of that and they raised the prices of the bowls and the lunch bowls. This used to be one of my favorite spots to grab lunch, but with the new changes I don't even know if I'll go back. read more

The food was good the service was fine but...when I went to pay my credit card statement a week later the waitress had put a 1 in front of the tip I had written in for her. I would equate this to eating at a buffet or cafeteria, only worse. Furr's or Golden Corral at least has more variety. After you're seated they will give you a bowl. The smallest size you can get is $9.99. You take your bowl and fill it up yourself. The ingredients are not fresh and the food isn't well covered. There was a child in front of me that kept coughing all over the food. They apparently used to have menu suggestions for the bowls, but not anymore. Service is average. Plan on spending $12.50 for the regular size bowl, $2.80 for a soda, plus a tip. Do yourself a favor and go get waaaay better food down the street at Panda Express for half the price.
