I have been here before and the service was great, but this time the whole restaurant smelled awful. It was like they used dirty dish water from the day before to clean up all the tables. I have worked in restaurants and to me that means that the staff is not checking that the all the water sanitizer is being replaced every so many hours. Not only that there was toilet paper, like ass paper by the front door ass you came in and it was there after I left. Not only that we waited about 5 minutes before anyone had acknowledged my family of 4 It was until I decided to look for a place to seat that we actually get acknowledged and then after awhile we finally got sat down. This was my first time here. I was new to the whole deal. They had staffing issues that day however the manger was very nice and went over everything with me. He showed me the options and explained how the restaurant works. All you order is your drinks and the bowl size of your choice. Small medium or large. They bring the bowl and you fill it up with what you want in your stir fry. They cook it up and bring it out to you. I'm personally not big on stir fry but it was good. This restaurant is poorly staffed and maintained. To anyone who has had good Mongolian stir fry, this will be nothing but a disappointment. This place lacked professionalism and food quality. Don't waste your time. I had been looking for good Mongolian food, and was willing to make the twenty minute trip to try a new place. At first glance, the reviews seemed good, and I was optimistic. Even when we arrived to a dimly lit, dirty parking lot and tacky outer branding, my partner and I remained open minded. As we walked in, there was no evident sign that said wait to be seated. After 5 minutes of awkwardly wondering around the restaurant, the hostess finally took us to a booth. Once we were sat our waitress came and poorly explained the process to us. She also gave me a food bowl that had been part of a display for who knows how long. We then went to the food line which was incredibly messy and appeared to have been sitting out for some time. When dropping off our food to the chefs there was no clear directions on how to choose our base, and they ignored our confused looks. Once we received our food it was subpar at best. Not worth the money AT ALL. Food poisoning was on our mind the entire meal due to the lack of cleanliness at the food line. My partner's chicken was partially uncooked. The waitress was nice, but somewhat unprofessional. When the manager came to talk to tables he failed to touch ours. The overall decor is cheap, and the process is incredibly inefficient. Not at all impressed and a little angry. We waited 20 min to get waited on. Then the guy that waited on us left before we were finished and we had to yell the rest of our order to him. They were out of sirloin tips which is what I wanted and the beef strips looked nasty. The buffet table was a mess and not appetizing at all. My drink was good tho Talked to the manager. Jefferson was a great waiter and took really good care of us. The food was good, as normal, because really, we pick our own ingredients. If it isn't good, that would be our own fault! Thankfully they were not crowded because you no longer fill your own bowls. Instead, a staff member does the filling for you and there were only two behind the counter so that was painfully slow. How come I always kinda wonder about the quality of the meats? Today the chicken looked like ground chicken. Also, I ordered the large bowl that came with three starches, I got the double rice and cabbage. Waitress brought the food out and mine was without cabbage. Strike two was the fact they also forgot my wifes tortillas with her meal. When they did bring the tortillas they were overcooked and crispy like chips! So, that was strike three today which is why I dropped them 2 stars. It's also worth mentioning that today's service was pretty poor. Our server seemed like she was just going through the motions, very low energy. This will probably be my last time coming here. They have a good idea going but can't seem to figure it out. read more

If you have a food allergy to seafood beware!!!! My husband went in on Sunday to get us dinner and he fixed our bowls and gave them to the grill cook - he explained I had a seafood allergy and to please clean the grill. When he arrived home I could immediately smell the food had shrimp in it or cooked with shrimp. My allergy is so bad just the smell alone gave me a bad reaction. I'm thankful I didn't eat it otherwise it could have been a lot worse. I've sent a email and not a single care. I understand it's busy endless bowls etc but food prep safety especially food allergies could be deadly. It should be taken seriously. If a guest States seafood allergies even using the same utensils is unacceptable. Food allergies for some could lead to death. Disappointing.... read more

Came here today March 6, 2018, mind you been here numerous times, even when first opened. You get the choice of size of bowl; small, regular or large and then you walk through the line choosing your ingredients such as meats, vegetables, seasonings, sauce, along with with rice, lo main noodles or spiral noodles. Then it is cooked on a big round grill and brought out to you. Food always been good, cause your making your own dish. My only issues is the service is slow, and patrons should be acknowledged sooner, seen several customers walk out. Hopefully this place will address this issue. read more

She had an attitude with us the whole time. Did not check on us for drink refills. We had to get up to ask. She blew us off and took forever to come over. Food was good, good selection to choose from. Biggest concern was a health issue, the waiter who seated us had a toothpick pick hanging out of his mouth while waiting on customers. This was very unsanitary. Imagine this individual waiting on someone in the restaurant and talking while spittle was being imitated over the table he was helping and into the atmosphere within the Restaurant. We love going to Genghis Grill but we were very disappointed in this location today. The floors were sticky to walk on, the bathrooms were not clean and when I wiped the table down with sanitizer wipes the wipe came back brown. Then to top it off, they brought half our food and left the other half sitting on the counter. My husband went to get his food because the workers were standing around and then the server gave him a dirty look when he got his own food. Very disappointing. Won't return here. read more

I recently went to the Genghis Grill in Moore for the second time in as many years. The first time, I wasn't that impressed by the food or prices, but my wife and I were back in Moore doing some shopping and it was nearby so we thought we would give it another try. Genghis is a Mongolian grill restaurant where you pick out your meats and vegetables and then cooks stir fry them on a large round grill. My wife and I ordered pot stickers for an appetizer and then went to select our meats and veggies for our stir fry. This is where it started going downhill quickly. The buffet has a wide variety of meats, spices, veggies and sauces...or should. The selection of veggies had been wiped out and not refilled, the raw meats had been strewn from one container to another so, the raw pork had chunks of sausage in it and the beef had shrimp and or squid. I stepped on something slimy and lifted my foot up to find a chunk of raw meat on the floor. I shook my foot repeatedly in a vain effort to dislodge it from my shoe. I looked down and there was dozens of pieces of meat and veggies on the floor. Directly under the space customers walk and dish up what they will eventually eat. Several of the vegetable containers were completely empty. The chaos and grunginess of the buffet was the beginning of the end for me. My wife actually slipped on a different piece of wet, raw meat on the floor. We turned our food over to the cooking team and went back to our table to discuss stepping on raw meat. Our waitress, who was perfectly nice and responsive, brought our pot stickers out. We took one bite and discovered they were cold in the middle. We told the waitress and she said she would get another order sent out. At this point, my wife and I were eyeing the emergency exit. We were about to walk out when our entrees were delivered. They looked okay and were steaming hot. We decided, against better judgement, to give them another chance. I tasted my food and it was okay but there was a slight taste of soap and chunks of meat I hadn't intended to include. My wife was unimpressed with her food too and said it tasted like one of the vegetables was spoiled. I then got a sharp piece of bone in my mouth which I spit out. I told the hostess I wanted to speak to the manager. A harried young woman came out from the kitchen. I showed her the buffet floor, which fifteen minutes later, was still littered the same food we had stepped on earlier, I told her the food was substandard, the restaurant was filthy and frankly gross, and I found a piece of bone in my food. She apologized profusely and said several workers had called in and she was trying to cook and manage and that no one had prepped food for the evening. She said she wouldn't charge us for the food and offered to bag up the entrees and appetizer. I politely declined. She was professional and apologetic and seemed genuinely overwhelmed but that doesn't change the fact that this place should be cited for substandard cleanliness and cross contamination by the health department and probably shut down until they can get basic food service procedures under control. We did leave the waitress a tip on the table as we left, feeling slightly nauseated. This meal would have cost over $35 and over $40 with tip. I have gone to buffets that provide much better food, service and cleanliness for significantly less money. This restaurant failed to provide the meet the most basic expectations of food quality and cleanliness and, for me, two strikes is all it takes to remove Genghis Grill from ever earning my business again. No one knows how warlord and conqueror Genghis Khan actually died. He may have fallen from a horse or died from an infected war wound. After eating at his namesake restaurant, my guess is he slipped on a piece of raw meat or possibly choked to death on a sharp bone, hidden by his enemies in a sub par stir fry. read more

We LOVE Genghis , we moved to OKC 3-4 months ago and use to come every weekend and went To our local location back in Texas every weekend but the last 3 times we have come to this location it has been crap. The manager didn't have any seasoning or food out at 11:10 (they open at 11 so you would think they would have it ready by 11, so it was like the just showed up) then the next time they were completely out of both sliced and cubed beef ... then when we got the food they stumbled upon a container of beef .... then this past time we came the beef was super brown and to me tasted a little funny, still out of cubed beef, when I asked about it they said it was still frozen they forgot to take it out the night before. Keep in mind I called before driving 25 minutes to make sure they had beef (that's all my husband eats) they said they did. They just seem to not care. We are to the point to where we just won't come back as often if any. Which makes me super sad Bc it is our fave ! read more

The food here is pretty good, you get to pick your own ingredients from a large buffet of decent quality selections. I would give 4 stars but unfortunately the last time I went all of our utensils and bowels given to us were not clean, and then I saw the most disgusting thing I've seen in restaurant - the cook was leaning over the grill with sweat pouring off of him directly onto it in someone else's order. I loved the amazing food! It was so good. The service staff was courteous and attentive. The restaurant seemed very clean. Everything was amazing. However, the manager, I think his name was either Mike, or maybe it was Matt, really made the difference. He took the time to talk to our family and made us feel welcome. We told him that we were from out of town and he seemed genuinely interested. I told him I used to work at Disneyland (in CA) and knew what good guyat service was all about. And this manager had guest service in spades. I was impressed with the food, the staff, and the restaurant but what really made the difference was Mike/Matt. Absolutely HORRIBLE service! It's best to keep your doors locked if u can't handle the crowd on a Friday even though there were no more than 15 people dining at 7:30PM. We got seated but nothing happened afterwards. Wifey went to the bar, waited for over 5 minutes and no one shows up. After about 15 minutes of sitting there like a bunch of fools we just left. I remember just a few years ago this places used to be jammed packed. Once service goes downhill it's pretty much game over. And should probably change the mop water everyday so it doesn't smell like a trash can inside. read more

We visited Christmas Eve for lunch. My main issue with this location is how messy the food line is. Raw meat juice is dripped all over the bar and the floor. In fact, I slipped on some when going through the line and almost twisted my ankle. My son got sick on the way home. My husband was sick later that afternoon. And, I was sick all night.If only this company would freeze their meats like Huhot does, so RAW salmonella bacteria wouldn't flourish at every turn. I will not be back. Second major issue -the glass top that covers the food line is made for a midget. You have to dip down and twist to reach for the food. It's like they're afraid you're going to actually pick any food from their line. After injuring my back at work the same month, I couldn't get to the food. It literally hurt as I was straining to reach. I'm a tall girl with long arms - and I can't get under the glass canopy to obtain anything from the back row of containers. It's not easy, folks. AGAIN - they could take a cue from Hu Hot Restaurant - who has a VERY TALL CANOPY making it easy access. Oh and by the way - our server was subpar. He took drink orders from all our tables and served them - and totally bypassed us. I had to flag him down just to get water. PASS! read more

I LOVE Mongolian BBQ, but not this chain that tastes like fast food. I've been to the one in Edmond and this one. Both places I've left with only eating a few bites.
