Okay today I happened to be close by so I pulled into the parking lot and noticed people walking out with a big order. I thought I was in luck for a fast order so inquired with the clerk and when I asked what was available within the 5-10 range I was IMMEDIATELY responded with upset Chinese language and she retreated to the kitchen as I as trying to explain my request so the situation could be deescalated. DO NOT GO 1. When I walked in it smelled like they had sewage problems, the smell was so bad I almost wanted to leave. The booths were dirty and there were chairs all over the place. It looked like the floors hadn't been swept or mopped all week. 2. The lady who took our order was extremely rude and it seemed like she didn't want us in there. Solid Chinese takout place. Great value. Food cooked to order, always served hot and fresh. General Tso's has lots of flavor, a nice blend of sweet and slightly spicy. Mongolian Beef is tasty here too with tender strips of beef. Hot & Sour Soup is rich and packed full of goodies. Cook times can run long here as to-go orders pile up. Rudest lady in the world! Terrible food makes her nastiness even nastier! First time i called, she hung up and never called back after taking half my order. This family is wonderful. While the owner may seem rushed at times, it's only because she is working hard. The last time I swung by they were only doing pick up orders, but that was not an issue for me. The food is consistent, and I always know what I'm getting for my money's worth (great portions). My favorites are the beef lo mein (they are awesome about adding a good amount of meat), and the general tso's chicken. We'll also get a chicken fried rice for a great leftover stir-fry later in the week. Nice, lean cuts of meat and fresh vegetables. Our go to! This place is delicious and you get so much food for your dollar. They may not have the most amazing decor but who cares. You get a lot whatever dish you order. I've been here several times and never been disappointed. On this particular visit, I ordered something I've never ordered before which was the Mongolian beef. I ordered it without the bamboo shoots. The only issue was that the beef was in very tiny pieces versus bigger pieces anywhere else I had tried it. It still had a great grill flavor and the fried rice that came with it was very good. Also it was not spicy at all as the menu claims but im sure if you mention that you want it spicier then they will do so for you. It came with a roast pork eggroll which was good but my favorite is the shrimp roll which I also ordered. Other items I have tried which is a favorite is the beef with mixed vegetables, hot and sour soup, sesame chicken and the crab rangoons. All very good. Always hot and ready very quickly. Stopped in and got some takeout orders. It was two lunch specials with egg rolls. The Shrimp lo mein did not have any vegetables in it. There was a fair amount of shrimp, but not much flavor. The chicken with cashews did have vegetables, celery, green pepper, and mushrooms. The chicken meat was good and juicy. The egg rolls were small, but enjoyable. The food was nice and hot. I feel like I have to write this review after reading all of the bad reviews. The food is actually quite good, and the people are very nice. I think they do not speak great English, which is probably what some people take as rude. However, if you will take the time to speak with them and be kind to them, they are wonderful to you also. They have a darling daughter that often helps in the checkout process and she is very sweet. We order from here a few times a month and it is a quick, easy option and good food for fast food Chinese. This is my favorite to-go Chinese place out of all the places I've lived. The food is inexpensive, but always of good quality, made quick, and packed with flavor. Quick anecdote: I recently passed through Norman took take a look at my alma mater. I decided to stop into China Wonder for old times sake. The woman at the counter not only remembered me, but remembered that I don't like peas in my fried rice (which is remarkable since I hadn't been to this establishment in two years). This is a solid cheap Chinese take out place. Definitely not the best there ever was, but one of the best in Norman, and certainly the best on the southeast side of town. I will warn you they take forever and the staff often has an attitude. I suggest calling ahead and tipping at least $1. The best value items are the combos. Of the quick stop Chinese places in Norman, China Wonder is one of the best. Good prices, spicy dishes have some sizzle to them, and they are always quick to prepare our order. The food here is good and cheap which in most circumstances makes it 5 stars. That being said the lady who works here is the worst. She is rude and not helpful and acts like customers are an annoyance. Also when you call in an order to pick up they will usual quote you one time and then when you get there you will AT LEAST wait an additional 45 minutes on top of that. We have waited for an hour and a half on top of our 45 minute quote before. It has gotten to the point where we will not go there anymore.
