Dr Strause is just awesome, absolutely pain free dentistry. A staff that is so wonderful and friendly. They use state of the art technology and they are reasonably priced. I have had very bad experiences in the past with dentists in CT who would charge an arm and a leg for the most basic of services. Not here. I can't say enough nice things about this practice.

To top it off, the insurance company has stated that they have a contract with this office and they should have deducted the amount rather than charged me in full to begin with. Looks like I'll be going to small claims to get my money. Aside from the sketchy billing department, I was treated by a young dental hygienist who was no where near as gentle as the lady they had 2 years ago, They had to give me extra local anesthesia the first quadrant yet when they did the next round a week later they decided to not bother with the extra anesthesia when they already knew I required more. I was jumping around like a fish with every poke. Fun times.

After an examination, Dr. Christman told me that I needed 2 different procedures - the one diagnosed by my family dentist and another procedure on top of it. I was very nervous and decided to get a second opinion. When I went to a dentist for the second opinion, he was very angry and said that I didn't need the second procedure that the tooth wasn't bad enough to require another procedure. I was very upset and cancelled everything with this group and went to another periodontist who completed only the needed surgery. They did forward all my records to the second dentist.

I work for the defense industry and buy supplemental policies to keep bills to a minimum. Throughout the three years we've gone to Yorkshire Dental its "discovery learning" when it comes to billing. IT seems there's never a problem until we come in for an appointment. At first, there's a mix up between assigning our primary and supplemental insurance (which they had the nerve to blame on my wife). Then my spouse wasn't covered by any policies at all and we received bills (since rectified). Then there's mix ups in submitting insurance claims. Then they couldn't properly submit claims in a timely manner. The law says claims must be submitted in a timely and reasonable manner. I now have an outstanding bill for $1700 from May of 2024. They are working through it and have three options in my opinion: 1. Fix it with the insurance company (who normally set 90 days to one year to submit a claim), 2. Write if off due to their own inefficiency, or 3. send me the bill have force me to take them to small claims court (where a lawyer would cost them more than what I owe with a judge possibly seeing them not being "timely and reasonable". Either way, enough is enough. We've cancelled out appointments and will find a new dentist. It's a shame that an inefficient front office staff cost Dr. Bommu a customer who loved her work.

Review and explained everything along the way. Went back 6 months later for my routine check up and informed him of jaw pain. Have TMJ and upon X-ray saw there was something wrong on the left side. I had a few cleanings done here, which were pretty normal. Like others have said, I had to wait longer than expected but nothing too drastic. I did end of switching providers though after one too many bad experiences that could not be coincidental. Saga as follows: -They switched dentists between my 2nd and 3rd cleaning here. During the second cleaning I was told I would need multiple fillings (which I kept procrastinating...) During the 3rd cleaning the new dentist said I did not need any... (to give benefit of the doubt, maybe every dentist is different...? But I felt like the previous dentist was just trying to get money out of me! -They were VERY hesitant to give a referral for a wisdom tooth extraction to anywhere but one specific place (which didn't take my insurance) Once I finally jumped through all the hoops for them to finally release my information to who I was asking them to, they only sent part of my record and I had to get X-rays redone at the place I was getting my wisdom teeth out because they "didn't have it" -During my 3rd cleaning they took the X-rays again because the "didn't have them" How do you misplace X-rays...? ‍ - the new dentist was really demeaning, mansplained EVERYTHING to me, even restated something I literally just said, and used my name every other second thinking he was "connecting with me." I did not like it! But I was thankful he retook the X-ray "for free" (not my fault they misplaced it though...) and did not lie about my filling so that was nice... mixed reviews on him -Nail in the coffin, my last appointment was 7/22 and i have not heard from them since (except to cancel a cleaning 1/23 because I decided not to continue with them...!) All of a sudden I get a collection notice in the mail saying I owe them money for my last cleaning.... I called to ask why I didn't get a bill or a call or anything. They claim they sent 8 bills before sending to collection but I did not get 1... Needless to say: proceed with caution. The people are not bad (also not the best...) but I had one too many bad experiences for it to be coincidence.
