While the original appointment went well and I was seen by a dentist and the endodontist I needed a follow-up. I was told that the specialist was only in the office for a limited time and that I would have an appointment this month (January 2025) and that I would be called once the scheduled days were finalized. After not getting called I called and was told that I could be wait listed for NEXT month. That was never the plan. These people have yet to refund me $1,388 but keep giving the runaround saying that insurance needs additional information for a claim which was submitted when i paid soon to be three months ago but when local anesthesia didnt work for my may 15th appointment i was reffered to another dentist for the rest of the work. Ive called my insurance, they say they have no pending claims and when i tell them this they insist they do and then just tell me i have to wait more. Had a root canal procedure done here. I was quoted a price for my procedure that seemed unusually high, so I asked for a breakdown of the costs. I was told they couldn't provide one until after the procedure was completed, which should have been a red flag. Unfortunately, I went ahead and paid, assuming that was standard practice. After the procedure, I finally received the itemized breakdown and discovered that the pricing was completely different from what I had been led to expect. I even contacted my insurance provider, who confirmed that the billing and submission didn't appear to be handled properly. When I brought this up with the office, they refused to make any corrections or adjustments. To be fair, the actual dental work itself seemed fine, but the process was disorganized and unnecessarily long. I arrived early for my appointment and still waited over 30 minutes to be seen. When my permanent crowns were placed, they were initially way too tall and had to be manually ground down for about an hour. And then the dentist left mid-procedure, saying they'd be back in 10 minutes but didn't return for 55 minutes (yes I timed it). Another dentist ended up finishing the work. read more

Well, to begin with, I was quite disappointed with the service I received at this place, and I would never recommend it to anyone. To start, I don't think the reception staff is friendly; they should make one feel welcome. The person who took my X-rays treated me professionally. When I was taken to my room, the first dentist attended to me well, but the hygienist took quite a long time to attend to me, more than half an hour. Finally, I got upset because they took so long to attend to me, since I didn't know where they were or why it was taking so long, that I even got up to leave on my own, and they didn't even try to ask me to stay. Just stay away from this place. When I went for my daughter's appointment, they overbooked. The wait time was absurd. She was there for tooth pain in one spot. They found 5 alleged cavities they wanted to fill. I wanted to trust that they are the professionals & knew what they were doing. Well, not even 3 months after the appointment, one of her fillings came out. I called to see if they would fix it & the lady who answered the phone was rude. I couldn't hear her well when she asked for a name. My daughter being a minor, I wasn't sure so I asked, "Her name or my name?". In a condescending tone that made me want to hang up on the spot, she asked if the filling that came out was mine or hers. I answered, "Hers.". "Okaaaay, so what's your daughter's name?". She proceeds to tell me I have a balance of almost $1500 & that needs to be addressed before they would see her again. When we were there, they took my insurance card, went on the computer, told me my insurance covers everything & we were good to go. What they didn't say was "We don't accept this insurance. . Actually, your insurance will cover nothing at this office". I feel duped. On top of that, they did a crappy job at filling in a cavity. Not even 3 months later & it just falls out? The office should see her free of charge & fix what they did wrong. Now she has to walk around in severe discomfort & pain because there's an exposed hole in her tooth. But after this experience, I don't think I would trust them to fix it. Certainly going somewhere else. We'll get new x-rays & see if the other fillings will need repaired as well. I called their "tell us about your experience" number. That lady told me they only give estimates & can only really know what it'll be AFTER it's submitted to the insurance. So, they estimated $0 cost to me-- Said the insurance will cover everything. But it turns out the insurance covered nothing. Somehow, I can call a random dentists in town & they can tell me upfront they don't take Aetna, but Aspen, with my insurance card in hand, typing away on the computer, estimated completely wrong? Terrible experience. I don't recommend this place at all. They'll tell you a lie, do bad work, be funny with you on the phone, & won't fix their mistakes. read more

This particular dental assistant was extremely nice and very helpful, I don't remember her name but I was in the office on Monday the 13th at 3:00 to get my new partials and she took her time to make me feel comfortable and made sure I knew how to work my new mouth appliance. I made an appointment, they confirmed the appointment via text four times and left a voice mail, which I returned, via voice mail, to confirm said appointment. I arrive at 7:50am for my 8:00am and wow, they cannot find my appointment. I never met the dentist, why would I, apparently I didn't have an appointment. Beware! I went in for a broken tooth. I was told I needed 3 other services before the broken tooth could be taking care of. Thousands of dollars in and when it was time to take care of the broken tooth they said the original service couldn't be done but I could get a 6 thousand dollar implant. I didn't need any of the previous services they charged me thousands of dollars for and I'm still left with a broken tooth. During my first appointment this year I thought I had my bill paid, I watched the lady swipe my card and it debited from my card. Not even 4 months later I'm being billed again for the same appointment. At my appointment in July I was told i had no balance and was free to go after my cleaning only to get a bill mailed to me yesterday. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have been going to Aspen Dental for the last 4 years. Since September 2024 I have had terrible service. The original front desk customer service staff is gone as well as the original dentist I had seen for all the years I have been going. When my visit came in September I was told I was going to be charged $185 up front which didn't make sense and since my car had been in an accident I had to reschedule. I had tried calling numerous times to reschedule and was finally able to get a call back. I rescheduled for Dec 23. A week before my appointment I received an email and a text message saying my appointment needed to be rescheduled. I once again tried to call numerous times and left multiple voice mails and there was no response. I did not go to my appointment. I kept calling to reschedule and finally got on the phone with a person to reschedule my annual visit. I go and I get stuck in the waiting room for OVER 45 MINUTES! I finally go up to the front desk and question what is going on. Needless to say because of the pure LAZINESS and INCOMPETENCE of the front desk staff I was 15 minutes late to work and they only thing I could get done was X-rays. On top of that I was told that my visit was completely covered and my next visit for my cleaning would be completely covered by my insurance. I go again wait another 30 MINUTES, get told I was being charged for extra X-rays taken my insurance didn't cover which I was not informed. Then the girl at the front desk had the audacity to blame me for being late to my appointment when I arrived 10 minutes prior, signed in right in front of her and watched her lock the doors around 5:10 PM. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING ANYWHERE OTHER THAN HERE. I went here early in the year to have a tooth extracted. It took the dentist almost an hour to remove it and it was torture the whole time. I went here because I retired and didn't have insurance any longer. Last month I went to another dentist for cleaning and in the X-ray they saw that there was still bits of the root left in my jaw. They suggested I go back to Aspen to get it removed but I refuse to do that since my first experience was so horrible. I'm getting this procedure done today but not at Aspen. Retirees beware of this place. They lure you in with free preliminary X-rays and cheaper prices when you don't have insurance. Remember you get what you pay for and when it's free and lower cost you aren't necessarily getting a good deal. I will never go back here and I warn others that are thinking of going here to stay away. read more

People were very friendly, so I was feeling very good about my first visit there. I have good teeth so had gone in just for x-rays and general cleaning. They told me X-Rays were fine but I had severe gum issues (I don't) and indicated I should get deep cleaning on both sides for over $3000 (AFTER my insurance payments). Well, truthfully, I used to be a patient at Aspen Dental, about a year ago. I loved going there. I was always treated nice and thought the dentists were good...UNTIL I went to this one particular dentist (she was an Asian woman, who's name I do not remember). Unfortunately, because of her bad chair-side manner. I stopped going! She looked at my teeth and very blatantly said they all need to come out. I was shocked. I knew I had problems but never imagined they were that bad. She didn't offer any explanations or alternatives. I mentioned to her that because of my work (front desk reception), I need to smile. She again, acted very rudely and said "Well, you're just going to have to go on vacation. After that, I was just done, and never went back. So, since that time I have found a dentist that agreed to work with me. Gave me other options and helped me to save some of my teeth and I now only need to have partial placements. DON'T GO HERE! Last May I tried to make an appointment because my dentures broke. After numerous visits and impressions, I finally got my new teeth.....that did not fit! The bite was so off that I could fit my tongue between my teeth when my mouth was closed. So, the dentist told me it was my fault and they made me a new set that I got in August. This set also does not fit, but when I tried to contact them to return them, they would not respond to my calls. The bottom teeth are too tall and the plate rocks up and down. The top teeth do not show when I smile, so I look like a bull dog. Plus the top plate is too small, hurts and has a texture that feels like they are constantly dirty. I constantly bite the inside of my mouth and lisp. Now they are sending me a bill. Also, they constantly reschedule appointments. read more

Terrible. Just for a consultation I had to wait over 2 hours. Got a $160 bill for xrays that couldnt even be used because they were blurry. They tried to sell me every product they had. Told me I needed 3 filings (second opinion said I only needed 1). For just a cleaning I had to schedule 2 months out. Then they called to tell me the dentist would be on vacation that week and I had to reschedule. I cancelled my appointments and went back to Smilebuilderz. Whatever contracts/estimates they give you-go over it with a fine tooth comb cause they tried to charge me for things I didn't need like $135 toothbrush that you can get a twin set for on Amazon for 3 dollars more and then tried to charge me over twice as much as I regularly paid for prescription toothpaste. If they try to work that it to your bill, what else are they working in? In 2019 my Daughter, and Son in law and myself started going to Aspen dental ( Lancaster ) and we still go there I went there in June of 2021 and my son in law went there in August 2021, they have always been professional, friendly, respectful of us, the Dentist and the technicians are great. read more

Aspen dental advertises affordable payment and a free first exam/xrays when truly unless you have perfect credit you wont qualify for these "affordable payment options". The free exam is just a scam to get you in the door so they can take advantage of people. While the rooms are well decorated and reception staff is generally nice, the nurse and doctor could care less about me and just wanted to rush onto the next patient. I felt I wasn't worth their precious time. I waited 3 weeks for my appointment and had to take off work for nothing, what a waste. I had high hopes for aspen but instead am extremely disappointed. I had 2 fillings done today and a cleaning and with the copay it all came out to $54 dollars. The lady that cleaned my teeth today was very professional and sweet. I would like to give this business a zero rating. I believe all the positive reviews written here are probably fake and a bunch of garbage. After receiving chemotherapy my teeth just started to rot. As one of those people who has a very strong fear of the dentist, I decided to go to Aspen after seeing so many positive reviews. I had all of my teeth extracted by a dentist that was younger than my son and had just graduated from Temple dental school a month earlier. I was told at my consultation that there was only one doctor who performed extractions (LIE #1). I was constantly told lies by Brittni, who handled the paperwork. I could make this story into a book, but to shorten it, it is now two years later and I am still suffering. Bones coming through my gums, two sets of bottom dentures that never fit and gouged my gums (let's just say this place does TERRIBLE denture work). Going there and sitting in the chair for an hour waiting to be seen. I do not have one good thing to say about this place. They seriously traumatized me as my eating habits have totally changed because of mouth pain. Terrified to even step foot in a dental office again. DO NOT GO HERE. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO EMPATHY OR CARE FOR THEIR PATIENTS. It's all about the money. I can guarantee that most of the dentists in the prior reviews no longer work there and that makes you wonder. They remarked the other day how fat my records are, and that I must be very loyal to them! I have always been squeamish about the dentist, and Aspen has handled me beautifully. They recommended a reasonable dental insurance which has helped with cost, and they are very good at explaining future expenses. I feel they are fair and understanding. Dr Grinderslev is patient, and handles any problems well. If for some reason he wasn't available, the dentist helping me also did a good job. read more

When they tell you to contact customer service (Dawn), what they are really saying is "look, everyone who is reading these reviews, we address these complaints and take them seriously" but what you don't know is they don't do a thing to help you. I wrote a review before saying that they had screwed up my mom's dentures. After multiple visits and multiple impressions and multiple fittings, the dentures still did not fit correctly. At one point while she was eating at a restaurant with family, they turned sideways and almost choked her. Do you know how scary as well as embarrassing that was for her to have to take out her teeth in the middle of a meal at a restaurant? She felt humiliated even though it wasn't her fault. Aspen Dental kept telling her they were fine. I saw first hand how terribly they fit. On her next visit, they did some realignment but it still hurt her and the dentist was going to run out of the room. My mom had to quickly stop him (never the same dentist so no continuity of care) and told him the lower partial was digging into her upper gums. He reluctantly came back and looked and said they were made totally wrong and she needed another set of impressions. He kept the dentures. After customer service called and we requested our money back multiple times because they have a money-back guarantee, they refuse to give us our money back. The office told us to bring the dentures in and they will re-fit them. I told them we don't have them. The dentist kept them. Besides, they had months to get those dentures correct, and yet they didn't do it. We've lost total confidence in this outfit to make another pair. During this whole process, the office has not been very nice so why would I want to take my mom into that toxic environment for them to be nasty to her. They've already proven to be unprofessional. My mom has pre-existing conditions and therefore is immunocompromised so my family doctor wants her to limit exposure to places if she doesn't have to go. This is one place she definitely doesn't have to return. The office hasn't called back and we haven't gotten our money back. I just want our money back as this is our right per their company policy. Satisfaction guaranteed or money back. We want our money back. She hasn't been able to wear the dentures properly since she had them. They had plenty of times to make them right and they screwed them up. Instead, they want us to pay THEM more money, and then they will re-make them. I still owe the credit card company for these dentures which never should have happened. We walk in having paid them for dentures and walk away with no dentures and deep in debt, now tell me they don't do financial scams. Don't go here. They scam elderly people out of their hard-earned money. We just want our money back as guaranteed. The office staff is not very pleasant either. I love Dr. K. Grinderslev work. He does a great job and is honest. I have been going there for about two years never experienced a major problem. If there was a problem it was fixed to my satisfaction. I had two crowns and multiple fixings done by him.There is only one thing that I do not like is that is sometimes hard to get an appointment in within a couple days or so. I prefer to see him than going to another dentist to get work done, but two times I had to because I could not get a sooner appointment. I like that I can reschedule my appointment online and can check my balance. read more
