I want to share the incredible experience me and my husband had with Genesis Group as intended parents. After interviewing and researching several surrogacy agencies, we decided Genesis would be the right company with whom to embark on this journey. We liked that Genesis was a smaller company and many of the women working there have experience with a surrogacy or IVF journey. They also take time and effort to prescreen their surrogates, so by the time you meet one, she is ready to have her medical documents sent to your IVF doctor. We were paired with Liz and La Vonna, and I loved both of them right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The level of communication was 10 out of 10![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, both Liz and La Vonna really appeared to care about us and wanted to see us achieve our dream of having a healthy baby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The real test to know if you have a "good" or "great" surrogacy agency is how they respond when things go wrong! When it comes to surrogacy and the human body, unexpected things can happen which can result in a match ending and have having to start from scratch. This journey has been so difficult for us emotionally and financially, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]Genesis was there as a rock to support us and to treat us fairly. They did not act like a typical business where the most important thing was their bottom line. Rather, they cared about us and wanted to do what was right[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Liz and La Vonna seemed to always be thinking of how they can make things better for us and how to get us closer to a transfer despite our budget and location issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When our first surrogate was not able to get to a transfer date, through absolutely no fault of Genesis, we were really devastated, but Geneses was not giving up on us! They never charged us any additional fees to match us with a new surrogate, even though they could have. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They prioritized us, meaning we were placed at the top of the list for when a new surrogate was cleared.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Almost immediately Genesis found us a very nice woman with surrogacy friendly insurance! Since we had budget and location issues, it was not easy for Genesis to find us someone who met our match requirements. This surrogate seemed amazing, but she was out of state and needed a little time to finish her medical screening prior to starting. Shortly after learning about the new surrogate Genesis found for us, we happened to learn of a surrogate available in our city through someone we knew who was connected with a different agency. At some point we had to choose between the surrogate Genesis found for us and the one who resided in our city, was within our budget, and ready to proceed immediately. After talking to Liz and La Vonna we decided we had to make the very difficult decision to leave Genesis in order to not lose the other surrogate. Even then, Genesis was right there feeling our grief with us. We had been on this journey for a year and a half and did not want to leave Genesis. In 2018, I was 35 years old and had already endured a long journey through multiple miscarriages and a cancer diagnosis that left me unable to carry a pregnancy. My medical team recommended surrogacy as the safest way to have the child we had so desperately longed for. My husband and I did a speedy IVF cycle to freeze embryos before I began chemotherapy. After I finished cancer treatment and took another year to heal, I researched and interviewed several surrogacy agencies, hoping to begin our journey as I was approaching my 40s. I just complete my fifth egg donation, but my first with Genesis. From my application to the retrieval, things went smoothly. Because I was an experienced egg donor Kayla was able to transfer all of my info from previous accounts I had with other agencies. She did this at my request because I had told her I didn't want to go through another application process. Wendy was also very helpful to answer all of my questions. Whether it was an email, text, or phone call she always responded pretty quickly. The only issue I did have was not getting my allotted amount of funds prior to flying out for my retrieval. My husband and I began our journey in October 2017. Gestational surrogacy is certainly not an easy road and we are so grateful for finding Genesis. I honestly don't know how we would've done this without them. When I began the process to create a family using a surrogate I felt a bit lost. The Genesis Group has a wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable staff and that is so important for parents looking to start a family this way.
