I have had an incredible journey with CSP in 2018 and am on my second journey, and although my second journey has been a challenge, I am grateful for the opportunity to help another family, and have another beautiful experience as a surrogate. None of it would be achieved without the help of CSP. If you're a new surrogate or repeat surrogate looking for a new agency, CSP remains the best and holds the most important factors in an agency: 100% honesty, transparency, and support: My first journey was perfect, and needed little assistance, but my second journey has proven that surrogacy isn't always easy, and my case manager and counselor have been beside my side at any moment I need and check on me all the time. Not many agencies provide a 24/7 counselor. You may be someone who doesn't think that's someone you need to lean on, I didn't either, and when the time came, I was so grateful. Incomparable matching: I have been matched perfectly three times! All three of my IP's have a special place in my heart. I have relationships that will last a lifetime. Medical Clearance: They will medically clear their surrogates BEFORE matching so nothing questionable comes up during an RE's medical clearance. Trust Coordinators: You are provided a trust coordinator to oversee every financial aspect from beginning to postpartum. On-time payments: Piggybacking off of the trust coordinator perk: I've never once had an issue with anything regarding finances. Everything is always paid in full, on time. That's the beauty of having someone specific for that role. Experience: They are the oldest agency in the world! They have seen it all and know how to handle any and all situations that come their way. Experience is another reason why they are sooooo good with matching. Other factors that may be important to others are compensation - they have very competitive compensation, location - they work across the U.S. and work in any surrogacy friendly state, but it is not necessary to be in the same state as the agency. They also work with domestic and international IP's. And last, but not least, the size of the company. Many people prefer a smaller company which in comparison, CSP is not, but CSP is loaded with knowledgeable individuals, with decades of experience, and a small company vibe. The atmosphere and interactions received by each employee at CSP does not entertain any perception that the surrogate is just "a number". I am so thankful I chose CSP as my agency. We had terrible experience and there were mutiple failures from the engagement managers. There was severe lack of accountability and professionalism in delivering any results. We ended up terminating our contract after 15 months without any progress. Avoid working with this agency at all cost. We ended working with other agency and have had great result. Here are the details on how CSP missed in delivering any results: 1) Prolonged Process: The process has taken much longer than initially promised. After 15 months since we began this journey, we have yet to be matched with any surrogate. 2) Lack of Engagement: Since we signed the contract in April, 2023, there has been a lack of proactive engagement from CSP. We experienced radio silence from our case managers for a year and had to reach out multiple times in April 2024 to get CSP's attention, ultimately enforcing a weekly cadence with our case manager and asking her manager to attend our call to make any progress. 3) Unsuitable Candidates: We presented our criteria for a surrogate to CSP in April 2023. However, when candidates were finally presented to us 13 months after, they consistently failed to meet our standard criteria. Many did not receive medical clearance from our doctor or were located far from our preferred locations. 4) Unfulfilled Promises: In May 2024, we were promised a potential surrogate in California who had supposedly expressed interest in matching with us. However, we were informed less than 12 hours before our scheduled match call that the surrogate seemingly and suddenly had backed out. We felt we were not informed transparently about her intent to work with other intended parents. read more

When I was looking and researching agencies, some of the most important things to me were how they match, that they had lots of IPs ready, the support provided, their experience, and financials(I was really afraid of my credit being ruined by unpaid medical bills because I see it happen a lot!). This is how CSP met my criteria: Matching was my #1 criteria and I truly believe this is what CSP does best. I see so many agencies that match as available, on a first come first served basis, or just randomly pair people up. Let's get real, we're human and we're not all going to get along. CSP has psychologists that really take the time to get to know ALL of their IPs and surrogates and match you based on what you want/are looking for as well as personalities that will work together. I have had two incredible matches that we're still in close contact with; one that I consider family. I had such an amazing relationship my first journey that I was hesitant about the second. I didn't think it was possible to top it so I told them I wanted something different so I wasn't comparing. Turns out, we have an even closer relationship with the second family; which I didn't think was possible. One of the things I really appreciate is the way they screen prior to matching. First off, they screen both surrogates and IPs. Some companies don't appear to screen IPs well or even at all. At CSP, they do all the screening before matching. This leads to less broken hearts and a faster process once matched. For example, in addition to medical records review, they do medical screening, insurance review, and psychological evaluations up front so once you are matched, you simply have to be cleared by the IPs RE and do contracts! They also don't limit contact while in the contract phase; which a lot of agencies do. I get their reasoning, but that's not okay with me. I want an agency that fosters and encourages communication. CSP has dozens of IPs waiting and ready to go at any given time so there are a lot of options and you're usually matched very quickly after screening is complete. For support, you will have coordinator there to help you navigate, answer questions, etc. You will have a counselor (with their personal cell for 24/7 access should you need them in an emergency situation) to help with communication, provide support in difficult times like a loss, etc. There is a private FB group for CSP surrogates and in person support groups where you get to meet other CSP surrogates. I've made some wonderful friends through these! Lastly, the financials... CSP requires IPs to FULLY fund the trust/escrow account prior to med start. When I say fully, I mean, the IPs put in all the surrogate's compensation, agency fees, monthly fees, legal fees, life insurance cost, health insurance cost if applicable, estimated travel expenses, and even estimated medical fees for transfer, pregnancy, and delivery. Obviously, some of these can vary and will increase if there are more transfers needed than originally estimated. CSP is on top of that too and requires IPs to deposit more funds if, at any time, the balance dips below projected estimates to complete the entire journey. None of this, deposit more if it gets down to $5k or $10k life I've seen with so many agencies. That can go really quickly! This is the reason that CSP surrogates don't worry about getting stiffed on compensation, left with unpaid medical bills, etc.. While most surrogates don't get in this for the money; let's face it, that certainly plays a part and CSP tends to be on the leading edge of competitive compensation. I have just completed my third and final journey with this wonderful agency and I cannot recommend them enough! read more

I have completed my first journey and would like to leave a review for Center for Surrogacy Parenting (CSP) and New England Fertility Clinic, Dr. Lavy. CSP was great! You complete all the screening up front, prior to the match, excluding med screening. Their doctor reviews your medical records, labs and such to ensure you meet requirements. This ensures the IPs are not being matched with someone only to have to break it when the GS doesn't meet requirements. After passing screening you meet with the psychologist in person and compete a personality test. This all aids in the matching process to ensure you are properly matched. You are than given a few (I got three and then an additional two) profiles to look at and choose. CSP did an AMAZING job matching me with a wonderful couple! I could not have asked for any thing more. We have become close friends and we consider each other family now. A skype matching call is done with the IPs, you and the psychologist. Mostly lead by the psychologist, taking a lot of pressure off. After we matched I flew to Connecticut for screening. It was easy and comfortable. Staff at New England Fertility were kind and friendly. Of note they wanted my husband there for the medical screening and put up a stink about me wanting to go alone. After obtaining IPs and Dr. Lavy's permission, I was allowed to go solo and my husband completed his blood work near our home. Dr. Lavy was great to work with. He is now having most surrogates (who have not had previous IVF and no trouble getting pregnant) do semi natural transfers. At the clinic they call them natural cycles. I was on a small dose of vaginal progesterone for 3 days prior to the transfer and after transfer I took vaginal progesterone and oral estrogen for about 5ish weeks. Super easy. I felt no side effects and the first transfer worked. The pregnancy was easy, and CSP assisted the IPs with all the legal work. My IM was grateful for their monthly updates and guidance throughout all the muddy stuff that surrogacy brings. I did attend quarterly meetings in Chicago, where GS all got together with a psychologist and shared their stories, provided support and advice. It was a nice support group. The communication with CSP was great and they were on time with paying bills and reimbursements. Everything was done as direct deposits. I would highly recommend CSP for GS and my IPs would also recommend them for IPs. We are planning a sibling journey next summer and plan to use CSP again. read more

I have been with CSP as a surrogate since 2010, and I've had 3 successful journeys with them. Working with an agency is crucial as they help with any situation that can arise, and with this type of life changing event, there are a lot of unknowns! The agency does an amazing job of guiding the relationship from both the surrogate and the intended parents side. They are quick to step in and help make this experience smooth and wonderful for all parties involved. Surrogacy can be overwhelming or like a roller coaster at times, but I'm so glad I chose CSP to oversee my journeys. I've met surrogates from other agencies and they always seem jealous when I talk about my experiences. I did a lot of research before I signed up, and CSP had the longevity and reputation I was looking for. She was kind, totally present, listened to our story, and was able to relate to us on so many levels. She was also very thorough in explaining how the process works and managed our expectations. Since 2008 I have been a gestational carrier 3 times for 3 families. My first two journeys were with another agency where I received little to no support from the agency. The whole process felt like an impersonal transaction, however at the time that was all I knew and didn't have much to compare to. Working with CSP was like a night / day change; I felt cared for and supported from the time I applied through delivery. The highlights of working with CSP was that I had the support of Kim, the psychologist, who was literally on call for me 24 hours. The group support meetings were also wonderful opportunities to be surrounded by women going through what I was going through. I made some lifelong friendships at these groups. The agency also did an exceptional job of finding the perfect match for us; we could not have asked for a better experience. At CSP surrogates are advocated for just as much as the parents, which was not my experience in the past. I'm so thankful and grateful to have ended my surrogacy experience on such a high note. As part of the interviewing process for surrogacy agencies, I reached out to the Center for Surrogate Parenting to set up an intro call. The name made it seem almost like a non-profit and the appointment process was simple and efficient. Unfortunately things went downhill from there, as during the roughly 45 minutes I spent speaking with the outreach manager (Fay), I found her to be condescending and fairly arrogant - several times questioning whether I had "the commitment required to be a good parent". This generally came in response to me asking reasonably straightforward questions about the process and contract/boilerplate to which she continued to stress the need for the "full consultation and evaluation" session - four (4) hours with both myself and my husband. Look, I completely understand the need to be committed to the process of becoming a parent, but four hours at this early stage of just deciding on a short list of agencies seemed completely overkill to me. All I wanted was to understand what the contract between us and her agency would include before agreeing to spend half a day with them. It struck me as a fairly aggressive sales tactic - get the customer to commit so they feel locked in, even before signing any agreement. If I had done this with every agency I was considering, it'd have been nearly 50 hours of time! Fay got quite defensive when I pushed back on this and gave a non-committal response about "checking with her boss" as to whether she'd be able to send the contract. She never followed up. read more

They won't allow you to use their services if one of you is a healthy woman. My wife and I take our careers very seriously and want to prepare financially before having a child. We called to get a quote and Faye let us know that we shouldn't waste each other's time if one of us is healthy. She said, "We are not social services. I don't see the point in risking the life of a healthy woman when one of you can hold the child. Every other surrogacy company does that, but not us." Yes, the tone was incorrect. Yes, the wording was even worse. What confuses me is how this company is a "business" who clearly employ women desperate enough for money to hold a stranger's child, and yet they're a little too snobby to be open minded to thousands of dollars from a couple willing to pay for everything including the best medical care for the surrogate. Good luck getting all of your employees/surrogates to leave 5 star reviews! This one star should help balance that out. :) read more

I began my journey with CSP in April of 2015. Shortly after the application process I was matched to my DREAM couple. From START to FINISH this was the GREATEST experience of my life! CSP took care of every little detail and someone was ALWAYS there for support, to answer questions or to help with advice. This was a match made in heaven and I owe it all to the CSP staff who so carefully evaluated both parties and knew we would be a perfect fit. I delivered 2 healthy baby boys on Father's Day 2016 and I have the best relationship with the boys' and Dads! We FaceTime weekly and have made a commitment to see each other in person at least once a year as they are in Australia. I have gained a forever family and it's all because of CSP. I didn't have one surrogate related stress while pregnant, CSP had a person to handle every detail that arose. I have every intention of returning to CSP soon so I can help another family in need! Any bad review on here, I would take with a grain of salt as I have never heard of half the nonsense these people are saying. We have monthly surrogate meetings to gather, share, vent, talk, whatever and I can't tell you the dozens of surrogates who were with other agencies and came to CSP after nightmare journeys. The worst staff! Anyone going through this process knows how sensitive and emotional it is trying to find an agency that will provide a carrier for your embryo. I spoke to a lady who was so negative and discouraging that she made me cry when I got off the phone. I am so disappointed that they would staff people that are mean, insensitive and negative. She said nothing positive in our conversation. She told me that having one embryo transfer will not be successful. I told her that my Dr was very positive bc it was a high quality embryo and she said "of course she would say that." She asked me what I was looking for in a surrogate and I told her two things I didn't want and her immediate response was negative to both. She told me how their prices are going up in Dec and in Feb and that was the end of our conversation. I can't believe she is employed with a surrogate agency. Once again my second journey was amazing, so much so, that I re-applied with the CSP for my third and final surrogacy journey. Although the pregnancy was extremely complicated I was supported throughout the difficult journey on multiple levels (counseling, legal, medical, and financial, etc.) from CSP and my couple. Id say i just completed my journey as a surrogate in January 2017 but honestly it never ends in your heart. Me and my husband have been married for 12 years with a 11 year old and never wanted anymore children but i defiantly wanted to experience carrying a child again and being a surrogate sounded like the most blessed experience i could imagine. Turns out it is. We made sure to do a little research before deciding on which agency to go with and CSP stuck out the most to us. I would defiantly say we got lucky in all departments. Alot of people may believe that when you sign up it is a rushed process and they are gun-ho to get your uterus to work right away. That is not the case i assure you, Me and my husband went through 6 months of medical testing, phone interviews, plus we had to fly up to Maryland, because we are East Coast, to do face to face interviews before we could even sign on. This is all so you are absolutely sure you know what you are getting into. I got to fly up to Maryland once every 3 months for support group meetings and CSP even has an active facebook page just for us surrogates. It really helps to know that you are not alone in the process and any questions you may have can be answered publicly or privately. I was perfectly matched and i have to say i couldnt have asked for better IPs. Even 6 months after babys birth they are sending me pictures and updates weekly. During the time that you spend getting to know them and carrying their child it really forms a bond and special relationship. They have asked me to carry for them again and i am more than happy to. If they hadnt asked me right away i would have waited a few years to sign on with CSP to do another journey. Im not going to lie and say that they are perfect, because nobody is and there are always mishaps, but I have talked to other surrogates with other agencies and i feel confident that CSP has our best interest and offers the best services and protection that us surrogates need. read more
