I spent a significant amount of time researching before deciding which company to donate my eggs through, and ultimately chose GG. I'm writing this review because I wish I had come across something this transparent during my own decision-making process. The egg donation process requires far more time, energy, and personal investment than is communicated upfront. Before even being matched with intended parents, you go through months of preparation--building a detailed profile, gathering extensive personal and family medical history, completing written responses, recording a video, and submitting photos. Even after completing all of this, there is no guarantee you will ever be selected. Once matched, the process becomes even more demanding. It involves psychological evaluations, genetic screening, drug testing, bloodwork, and multiple ultrasounds. Donors are responsible for scheduling and attending all of these appointments themselves, and there is no compensation for time, travel, or the impact on your work schedule. In my experience, my calendar quickly became dominated by donation-related commitments. Communication throughout the process can also be challenging. You are in contact with multiple parties--doctors, coordinators, legal representatives--but there is little coordination between them. I often found myself acting as the intermediary, relaying information back and forth, which led to confusion and added stress. At times, it felt unclear who was responsible for ensuring I fully understood each step. The medical portion is also more intensive than many may expect. You are required to self-administer multiple daily hormone injections that significantly affect your body, followed by travel for monitoring appointments and the retrieval procedure. In my case, this required multiple cross-country trips and taking extended time off work, none of which was compensated. Compensation is presented as $10,000 for a first donation and $12,000 for a second. However, an important detail that was not clearly emphasized is that this income is taxable. After completing two donation cycles and four trips, my total compensation was $22,000 before taxes. I later owed approximately $5,000 in taxes--something I was not adequately prepared for or advised on. This significantly reduced the net compensation and changed my overall perspective on the experience. When I reached out to the company to express my concerns about this, I was told there was nothing they could do. In total, this process required a substantial commitment over the course of about a year, both physically and emotionally. While I sincerely hope my donations helped create a healthy family, the overall experience did not feel proportionate to the compensation or level of support provided. I share this not to discourage others entirely, but to ensure that anyone considering egg donation has a clear and realistic understanding of what the process involves--especially in terms of time, coordination, physical impact, and financial responsibilities. read more

I'm surprised to see that Growing Generations rated so low with other patients because I had a wonderful experience with them. My review is based on my experience as an egg donor with them and cannot speak on behalf of their other services. I actually lived out-of-state at the time I was selected as an egg donor. Growing Generations made the whole process so easy and stream-lined. The whole process took about 2 1/2 months from the time I was matched (March 2012) to the time of my egg retrieval (May 2012). They flew me in to do the psychological evaluation, legal paperwork, and medical screening a month after I was matched (April 2012). I needed to be there and back on the same day, and the agency was able to accommodate for me. They were able to send me the medications through the mail in which I would do blood work and follicle measurements with a third-party clinic during the cycle before I flew down to Pasadena for the actual retrieval with Dr. Kolb of HRC Fertility. They were in constant contact with me, which was nice because I felt very in the loop about everything, even if there was nothing to update me on. Erica Bowers was my point person to talk to and Amy Ramsey matched me, and both were great. The whole staff is friendly and professional and was very easy to work with. When I was billed for something I shouldn't have been billed for they took care of it right away. I was compensated and reimbursed for all my expenses within a couple days of my retrieval with no hassle. I would definitely work with this agency again, given the chance, and highly recommend them for egg donors. read more

As a first time surrogate, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect throughout the surrogacy process. Luckily I had an experienced friend to help with any questions that would come up. My case manager, Jessica J. was not helpful at all and actually made my journey more difficult then it needed to be. I would definitely recommend that you do extended research before getting into the contract. Growing Generations made me feel like the precious baby that I gave birth to was just a paycheck to them, numbered and all. There will more then likely be misleading information as far as payments and bonuses go, in the contract. My IP's we're unsatisfied with Mrs. Junyent's involvement as well. read more

I applied to be an Egg Donor for Growing Generations. After completing a lengthy 3-4 hour application process I was sent a pseudo auto-generated e-mail after two days saying that I didn't meet their minimum qualifications to be an Egg Donor. I replied saying that unless I mischecked a box somewhere I seriously doubt that I didn't meet their minimum requirements as I am a five time successful Egg Donor. No response. I don't know where to start. This is the second agency that I used and what a difference it has been from the previous agency. First I talked to Christa who was wonderful, kind, informative friendly, patient. Then I talked to Caitlin who was the coordinator and I can not explain to you how easy she made this journey to me. She always gave me reassurance during covid. She was always checking on me, kept me updated almost daily. She never made me feel that it was about business. She treated me as her best friend. Even after the journey was over she was checking on me. My first journey was WONDERFUL. The second go around was a completely different story. Between surrogacy 1 and 2 they changed the entire contract and payment process from line item to set fee.. which means you basically gamble with whether or not you will get paid for all the trauma your body will go through. My second journey ended in 2 miscarriages (one which was months of torture on my body), a D&C, over two weeks of using personal PTO, a cancelled cycle the day before transfer, another invasive procedure and a final transfer with no outcome. Through all of that I was only compensated in the form of reimbursement of transfer cycle transfer expenses. Nothing else. I would recommend using a company who pays you for the multiple traumas your body may go through, and not only if you end up pregnant to delivery. read more

I applied to be an egg donor and was deemed "unqualified" due to an unspecified concern in my history or in my family's history. The agency will not reveal why it rejected me, and I cannot fathom which health disclosure was incongruous with its standards. A review of my genetic history compared to the egg donors who were accepted proved interesting. I have no genetic family markers besides my grandfather having a stroke and diabetes at a very old age (and living well into his 90's). I have no personal health issues whatsoever. Other egg donors who have been accepted have legitimate inheritable genetic flags. I am very disappointed that I lost out on a chance to help someone start a family. I will be using other egg donation agencies, and I encourage parents to do the same if you do not want to miss out on great potential egg donors who were rejected due to the mysterious standards of this agency. read more

I worked with Growing Generations six years ago and had a positive experience. That was until the surrogate that GG matched us with started to meddle in our family and then took sides in our divorce. It turns out our legal agreement with the surrogate doesn't give me the power to keep her away from my kids. If you work with GG and their lawyers, you should be sure to check the surrogate contract very closely because, sadly, GG isn't thinking through all the potential future issues. read more

As a former 2x surrogate I would not recommend this agency. My first journey was wonderful because the intended parents made it great. My second journey felt like a transaction where all communication was initiated by me. Both journeys my name ended up on birth certificates of the children that will forever be used in their home countries (international IP's where surrogacy is illegal). My husband and I both had to fill out forms relinquishing our parental rights to the last child since my name will always be listed as birth mother. Delivery day with journey #2 I tried to refuse to allow my name on the birth certificate but the intended father threatened to sue the hospital and made it very clear that having my name on the birth certificate was the only reason he chose a Texas surrogate. I would have appreciated this information / more transparency from the agency & / or attorneys office prior to signing legal contracts. I did reapply with this agency but I was not willing to have my name on another birth certificate. Fortunately, they were unable to match me and I found a much more experienced and professional agency who advocates for both surrogates as well as intended parents. read more

My wife applied to be a surrogate here and was accept saying she had a really strong application even though she told them that she smoked a year ago. This is something we really wanted to do and she was so happy she was accepted. We had our phone consultation and was ready for the next step and was told we would be contacted by anna in two days. She contacted us five days later sending us abunch of forms to sign and a list of the information we had to send. We went through the process of signing and sending her medical records, our ids and social security cards, and all the other information. As soon as we finished she emailed us saying that they can no longer proceed with my wife as a surrogate because they went over her application again and discuss how when she smoked was a year ago and it has to be at lest three years when we already discuss it and they said it was fine. They got our hopes up and really hurt my wife. I dont understand if they're so strongly against her smoking why her application would be considered strong and why she would even be accept at all. Plus when calling and emailing they take a very long time to respond and getting information from them is like pulling teeth and it turns out to be the wrong information anyways. Also my wife told anna my wife's period cycle was 60 days, my wife asked if that would be an issue and they told her that its perfectly fine that there would be no problems..she went to my OBGYN and my wife's doctor told her to do research becuase the agency should be telling us about "ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome" which can lead to ovarian cancer...when we researched more on ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome that day we discovered that her cycle cuases her to be at higher risk if not certain to get it...they never mentioned any risks like that so do your research read more

I am sad to have to write this review after what started out to be a good experience with this agency. I was a surro with them in 2006/2007 and attempted to return after giving birth for one of their clients. I was put through the screening again and was assured that my bills would be paid by them. Well my taxes were intercepted for one (which they reimbursed eventually) and now they are refusing to pay for another that has ended up on my credit report. Their reason for not paying it is because I left the program due to a move to a state that they did not work with???? I did not leave the agency because I changed my mind, they just refused to work with me if I live in a certain state. So they are hiding behind some clause in their agreement paperwork. Not very good business especially being that I was a client of theirs in good standing. read more

If I can give it a zero star, I would. This is coming from personal experience dealing with this agency. I had to turn to surrogacy for a medical reason to conceive a biological baby. The fact that this is a large company does not equate to quality service or no conflict of interest. First of all, the agency is quick to take your money, and it requires that you pay in full in the trust account right away. The many other professionals that the agency use are all tied to the agency somehow. If you look at the law firm and the psychologist the agency uses, the main principles of these professional firms are also setting as an active managing member of Growing Generations. This is a major conflict of interest. We were also forced to pay a non-refundable fee to the psychologist even though service was never rendered. That to me is fraud. What legitimate business would force a client to pay for a service that is expected but have not been fulfilled. Second of all, the lack of communication we get with this agency is just astounding. We finally have a match with the surrogate, but once that is done, I am left hanging without further instructions on what to do next. I had to constantly hound my client service rep for more information and instruction. Then, we had a failed pregnancy with the surrogate, so we took a three months hiatus. During this time, the agency haven't been following up with surrogate. So, I had to hear to horrible news of the surrogate getting pregnant with her own child by the surrogate herself. Meanwhile, the agency has been sending money out of our trust account to the surrogate. I can not believe why I have to pay our surrogate the three months in hiatus but ended up with the news of her breaking the contract by getting herself pregnant with her own child. The agency should have checked on her to make sure she is using a proper mean of birth control until we resume our next round of IVF. Lastly, Growing Generation has failed in all ways as an agency, and I am terminating myself as a client with this agency. However, the agency is dragging its feet on refunding my money. Once again, lack of communication. The agency hasn't done a thing since the first attempt of IVF with the surrogate, and that was 7 months ago. Now, they are only trying to process my refund in installments, because there might be unbilled costs in the future. How can that be? They've taken their share of the money in an expedient fashion. What should have been paid, were all paid up front. What reason does the agency have to not fully refund my money for the past 7 months of inactivity? If you are forced to go to surrogacy, do yourself a favor, don't work with this agency. This is from my personal experience. I hope to help another couple who do need to turn to surrogacy less grief by not working with this horrible agency. It is already hard enough mentally and physically as the intended parents. You don't need to be frustrated even more by a callous and poor client service company, when you do need your hand to be held. Frankly, you won't get it from this company. I engaged the Agency for an egg donor. They were good in arranging all the paperwork, although a bit slow on the emails. They scheduled the appointment and I signed the Egg Donor agreement with the impression that all was underway. They were very fast to chase me for payment but one week before the appointment, I was informed that the egg donor had changed her mind. Then if I was to cancel the agreement to go with another Egg donor agency, they will only refund half of my money back. So they charged me for services without any results. read more
