Boone House spa, second visit, this time for a manicure. Bennett, the spa manager was just as charming as the first time meeting her. She checked me in, helped me select my nail color and then offered some spa water while I waited for Lauren, their nail tech, to finish up with her client. Lauren did a super job on my nails and was very polite and friendly, I enjoyed our conversation during my manicure. Both make you feel welcomed and at home. Wonderful place with Resturant... we stayed on the first floor with a king bed and large closet and bath... beautiful room... needs some new blinds and lights in bath But the bed is heaven to sleep on !!! We wanted to go to the restaurant. Per their website it is no reservations needed, so we showed up without a reservation. Big mistake. We were greeted by a sign that said "please wait to be seated" so we waited. No one was at the host podium but we saw a sign that restaurant with an arrow and so we decided to walk in that direction since we saw no sign of an employee anywhere. We walked back and saw someone working in the kitchen. I obviously had to have looked helpless, but he said NOTHING. Not a word. Didn't offer help. Then I spotted what I assumed was a server. I had to approach her and ask if we could be seated to which she responded with "sit anywhere." So we went to a seat. We then met another server who asked if we had reservations to which we responded no and that a server told us to be seated. And she said no. She informed us that we could either sit at the bar or eat quickly so that the other reservations could have their tables. We left. She was nice but it was overall a terrible experience. I would never recommend this to anyone. Their website is a lie and most of their staff isn't helpful. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Back in June I booked one night in the Generals Quarters Bed & Breakfast, securing it with my debit card. In early August I changed my trip and cancelled. Last night my credit card was charged not once but three times. I called the bed & breakfast and a man answered. I explained what had happened. He complained that he had been waiting for me for four hours. I pointed out that since I had canceled, I had no idea he was waiting for me. I told him I had canceled and could send him my phone bill. He gave me his name and asked me to send him my phone bill. His name was Chef Luke. I sent it within 10 minutes. He also said he had only run my credit card once. I disagree with that. He gave me his email to send him my phone bill which shows the cancellation phone call. I sent him my phone bill, a screenshot of the phone call also, and a screenshot of being overdrawn. I also called back and explained to him how to search my phone bill which is a PDF. He said he'd look into it. This morning I'm still overdrawn and there are no reversals. There's also no email looking into it. So today, I'm going to have to deal with their mistakes (charging my credit card more than once and in fact charging it at all since I canceled). This is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. Apparently, I should have read the other reviews because I'm not the only person who apparently has had this problem. The man I spoke with kept saying he was going to look into it. He definitely bordered on unfriendly. Day 2: I called at 6:18 am and called to ask whether he'd looked into it. Chef Luke said he was asleep and would look into it when he woke up and hung up on me. He received my proof last night and could have looked into it then. I told him I was overdrawn. I sent him all the proof he needs. This is his mistake and he needs to correct it. He's had my proof since 7:23 pm yesterday evening and he's not bothered to look at it, being fully advised that I'm overdrawn because of his mistake. Update: this is a direct copy and paste from the owner. "michelle,I talked to the bank and they will credit the two over charges.should take two business days.the original charge stays as I was unable to find a cancellation of your stay.I will however extend a room credit for you,which can be used anytime in the next 6 months. sincerely, chef luke". My response: "Luke, You saw my phone bill. Why would I have called you over a month after making the reservation except to cancel. I plan on disputing this with my credit card company and I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and writing reviews because I think, based upon your previous reviews, that this is something you do to unsuspecting people like myself. So, extending a credit is not acceptable, since I would never choose to use it. Michelle." Further updates: There has been more back and forth but I'm still unsatisfied. The owners are very rude and unprofessional. Make sure you get a specific quote of cost for every night, not a total. If they offer a discount, get it in writing. If you cancel, get it in writing. Don't let them run your card without having everything in writing, read all the fine print, every word. "Chef" Luke is one of the rudest people I have ever met and shouldn't be working in the hospitality business. I gave a 48-hour notice of cancellation and they refused to refund my money. I stayed at the General's Inn with my husband and in-laws for a weekend at Shiloh and we were very impressed! The owner, Chef Luke, was very friendly and helpful. The house was beautiful. The rooms were quality. We ate dinner with Chef Luke as well and the food was fabulous and well-priced. The only con I found (which wasn't that bad because it adds to the charm) is the decor is a bit old, as in I'm-on-the-set-of-The-Golden-Girls old. But all in all, stay here! It was an honor to get to stay in an old home like this! read more

The lady who answers the phone is rude and condescending. I called to numerous times to make sure a reservation was canceled because I couldn't get anyone to return my call after several messages and she said "I told you it was canceled, what part of that are you not understanding?" 1. She never told me it was actually canceled. 2. If someone would've called me back to tell me it was canceled I wouldn't have had to make several calls. I have been in Customer Service and the travel industry for over 25 years and I have never had someone speak to me the way she did. I would never send someone here. read more

This is a first class bed and breakfast in a quaint, small southern town. Charming rooms tastefully appointed. The service is excellent as chef Luke offers you a drink as you arrive and serves a delicious gourmet breakfast each day. I stay here most every time I visit on business. read more

If you're visiting the Shiloh battlefield, this is the place to stay. Set on a quiet street in a big old house, we enjoyed the claw-foot tub, sat on the 2nd story verandah, were given a recommendation to a great restaurant for dinner, and had a delicious breakfast served us in the morning. As we were leaving, we were introduced to what felt like the whole society of Corinth, who were all having breakfast in the large dining room downstairs. Wonderful how friendly everyone was. All that for a fraction of what we paid for the same experience in a big city, and just a short drive from one of the great battlefield parks in the US! Will stay again on our next trip. read more
