Our guests raved about how charming the home was, especially with all the Christmas decorations. It was such a beautiful weekend. Tracy helped make all the processes so smooth from the vendors, to the decor, to covid precautions, to the clean up. She is such a rockstar. The band was incredible--Chad, Justin, and Billy brought the party! Our guests are still messaging us about the music three days later. They definitely gained some new fans. I highly recommend Pickett Place and their lovely staff for being so welcoming, friendly, and eager to help. If you're in the Shoals area, this should definitely be your first choice for all things event-related.

We made it 1 hour before leaving. When we arrived at 3 PM (check-in time), there was no one at the…read morefront desk and we had to call to get someone to come and check us in. During the check-in process, the Big Bad Breakfast trash had to be taken out through the hotel lobby. When we got to our room, the AC unit was making a noise every 20 seconds or so. When we went downstairs to ask about getting it fixed, they immediately knew which room we were in (so clearly a known issue that no one has bothered to correct). The only solution they offered was a refund so we found a different hotel thankfully! I have no idea how this is a 4-star hotel - we will not be back.

The hotel was also extremely convenient for a wedding we attended just a few blocks away, and the room was very clean and comfortable. However, when it came time to go to sleep, our room was extremely loud, as the wall of our headboard backed up to the club, FloBama, directly next door. The music went on until after 2:00 AM, and the traffic noise (e.g., honking horns, motorcycle traffic, screaming and yelling) continued for hours later. I regret staying here and advise others against it as well. There should be a warning so guests can expect to be unable to sleep until after 3 AM. The money we paid for the room was extremely overpriced, and I sure wish we could receive a refund or discounted rate, as we were unable to sleep at all and left before 7 AM, so we could come home to TN and sleep in our own quiet bed.

I and a few others met with Frank a few times over at 217 during the last 6 months with any questions we might have pop up and he was always so cordial to meet us with any concern we might have. The building itself was nice. They really put some money in refurbishing it. I was however disappointed to walk up to two servers smoking outside the front door. George's has built a reputation for being a higher end restaurant in the area and I felt that was a little trashy. The food itself was not as good as going to the actual restaurant. Almost like it was cooked there and then sent over to be warmed up at 217.
