During the check-in process, the Big Bad Breakfast trash had to be taken out through the hotel lobby. When we got to our room, the AC unit was making a noise every 20 seconds or so. When we went downstairs to ask about getting it fixed, they immediately knew which room we were in (so clearly a known issue that no one has bothered to correct). The only solution they offered was a refund so we found a different hotel thankfully! I have no idea how this is a 4-star hotel - we will not be back.

Our stay last night was very unpleasant. We were super excited about our stay at The Stricklin, as…read morethe hotel is very quaint and has so much character and charm. The hotel was also extremely convenient for a wedding we attended just a few blocks away, and the room was very clean and comfortable. However, when it came time to go to sleep, our room was extremely loud, as the wall of our headboard backed up to the club, FloBama, directly next door. The music went on until after 2:00 AM, and the traffic noise (e.g., honking horns, motorcycle traffic, screaming and yelling) continued for hours later. I regret staying here and advise others against it as well. There should be a warning so guests can expect to be unable to sleep until after 3 AM. The money we paid for the room was extremely overpriced, and I sure wish we could receive a refund or discounted rate, as we were unable to sleep at all and left before 7 AM, so we could come home to TN and sleep in our own quiet bed.

The tech team is really on top of their game and know what they're doing. I've never been aware of any equipment malfunctions on their part and they're all so nice and hospitable. The venue itself is very nice, well-kept and in a prim e location in downtown Florence. Because it's on the outskirts of downtown, parking is not a problem at all because of all the side streets it faces.

We just had our DHS 69 Class Reunion at George's 217 this past Saturday night, and I must say Frank…read moreand his staff went well over and above our expectations. I and a few others met with Frank a few times over at 217 during the last 6 months with any questions we might have pop up and he was always so cordial to meet us with any concern we might have. With over 110 in attendance, the facilities (the way it was set up for seating, band and dancing), the elegant table setting and flowers, and as always the delicious food, everyone spoke as too how pleased they were with EVERTHING. Frank, also saw too it that we had a tv se-up for those that wanted to catch some of the Auburn Final 4 Game during our social hr. The building itself was nice. They really put some money in refurbishing it. I was however disappointed to walk up to two servers smoking outside the front door. George's has built a reputation for being a higher end restaurant in the area and I felt that was a little trashy. The food itself was not as good as going to the actual restaurant. Almost like it was cooked there and then sent over to be warmed up at 217.
