Great views of the lake, comfy beds, snacks at the gift shop and other souvenirs. The bad, my first room they gave me was not cleaned and had dirty sheets. Called down to front desk and was put on hold and hung up on 3 times, please get a better phone system! After going back down, to get a different room, the key they made didn't work, went back down AGAIN to get two keys reprogrammed. Restaurant has bad Yelp reviews so I didn't even go there and went to other restaurants in town. Nice lobby but the Wi-Fi is sketchy and inconsistent. read more

Pickwick Landing is about 21/2 hours from most areas of Memphis. PLEASE BE CAREFUL DRIVING THROUGH THE SMALL TOWNS. Pickwick Landing State Park is a secluded spot that allows couples to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the day to day and focus on each other. But one thing is the smell in the air and in the rooms is horrible. It's from the paper mill manufacturing plant up the street. Whew! But the area is beautiful and you can get back to nature. They have presentations scheduled daily about the animals and the area. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Indoor pool and outdoor pool. Exercise room too. The closest store is a dollar general about a mile up the road and a couple small local restaurants. read more

I was really excited that Pickwick finally got a new restaurant until I waited 45 minutes to get a WATER. The waitress staff here is a joke and I should have been smarter and left once my drink took too long but wanted to give the food a chance. Do yo our eating restrictions my husband and I ordered Chef salads from the menu.. It was almost non existent on the meat. Zero croutons, 1/2 egg. Lots of lettuce about 6 cherry tomatoes. Plenty of cucumbers and cheese. Not worth 9.95! The waitress responce was I didnt make it! She was very rude until the end. To their defense The regular Sunday brunch our friends got looked awesome and plenty of it, just dont order from the menu! read more

We found this place while on google and went against the odds and booked this place. However we have nothing but great things to say! The restaurant in the lodge was super yummy for breakfast! The biscuits were the best I have ever had. Portions are perfect for breakfast. The servers were so sweet and on it! The rooms were cozy. The beds were so comfortable and the views are amazing!!! The inside swimming pool was nice as well! People were checking the PH and the water was perfect temp! We will definitely be back to this beautiful place!!! read more

this morning, Dec 12, we decided to try a breakfast at the lodge; as we had heard it had been remodeled. we were met by a surly hostess who promptly lectured us (we were supposed to wait til she seated us!) Once seated we were ignored. Three different groups were seated after us but had beverage and orders taken! we were obviously being punished for sticking our heads in to the restaurant to check it out. After being ignored, 15-20 min, we left. It's been a long time since we have been treated this poorly. fortunately we are locals and know that there is an EXCELLENT restaurant a few miles up the road (other side of the dam!). THERE we were warmly greeted "GOOD morning" by at least 4 employees. and were served prompty. our breakfast came hot and was delicious. we HIGHLY recommend Outpost over the Lodge. read more

I would have given it more, but windows were covered with bird droppings and pool was freezing with bird droppings. Room had not been dusted and the bed covers consisted of a thin comforter between two sheets. If they could get rid of all those bird's nests, it would be much better. They should also increase the size of the beaches and clean them. read more

The Lodge has recently undergone a multimillion dollar Renovation and it is beautiful BUT...it is already beginning to decline due to lack of upkeep!! The guest rooms and the entrance to the ground floor rooms at the back of the lodge desperately need a deep cleaning. The restaurant food was prepared correctly but had ZERO seasoning!! Steak was tender but ZERO seasonkng....not even salt / pepper. Cajun pasta had ZERO Cajun seasoning & chicken was so bland it tasted boiled. read more

We stayed at the Inn on Saturday, and were very disappointed. The mattress was probably the most uncomfortable mattress I've tried to sleep on, the "heated" pool was cold, and the restaurant was unimpressive. To top it off, we had a surprise waiting by the bed. . When we reported it to the front desk, she acted shocked, but that was it. The only nice thing about the hotel was the beautiful view. read more

The conference center and grounds are beautiful. I had the buffet and that's the reason for 3 stars. It wasn't super fresh and the buffet was kinda strewn and not entirely clean. I had whole fried catfish and it wasn't bad, but the flavor was kinda like mud. Def wouldn't eat there again, but the facilities are nice enough to visit. read more

Beautiful views covered up by filthy windows with lip prints. Every table was dirty, even the one we were seated at. Without menus pr silverware, but all the foh staff were just hanging out and talking. Even the food runner on sweat pants. Sweatpants, really? Nice standards. I ordered a Cajun pasta with broccoli and a Cesar salad. Is it too difficult to actually toss the romaine in the dressing instead of just dumping it on top? Everything came out together. Train your servers to stagger the courses. It's not hard. Or teach your kitchen to work together. Communication is key for the different stations. The pasta was ridiculously overhauled, tasted muddy, and had the notorious "sat in the pass too long" film on it. The server just left a tea picther on the table do we did the refills for her. So she could talk to some dude in street clothes at the bar. Beautiful views and architecture ruined by a lazy staff and a management staff that clearly couldn't care less. She was chatting it up with her foh staff swinging her lanyard around while i was served frozen and microwaved mushy broccoli. Its not hard to get fresh broccoli, blanch it, portion it, and quick steam it right before being served. The menu is stupid. Makes no sense. And entire steak section just for a hamburger steak and "ask the server" get a sirloin, a ribeye keep the strip fill time not just ask the server. Or beyter yet get a new chef. Seriously, just do better all around. Have you been to other restaurants? Do you know how to manage and operate one? Or do you just not care about the people paying your bills. Get out of the restaurant business, you're a disgrace. read more

The newly renovated lodge and restaurant are very nice. We came for the weekend, stayed in one of the new cabins and had all our meals at the lodge restaurant. The staff are very nice and friendly, the food is good and very reasonably priced, and the views of the lake and dam from the restaurant are amazing! The park has a lot of space and plenty of outdoor activities. We would definitely come back here and bring the whole family. Thank you for a great getaway in these difficult days! read more

Room was very very dusty from construction work. you can tell it's state run they never get it right. I wouldn't recommend this place
