Polina, one of the owners,…read more greeted us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the civil war artifacts and the exquisite 15th-to 19th century paintings that hung on the walls of the estate. It was a joy to see the paintings and civil war artifacts up close and have the opportunity to discuss the collection with Polina. After the tour, we settled into the Jenny Lind suite with the jacuzzi tub. It was great to soak in the tub and relax after a busy day and enjoy the complimentary wine and refreshments. Our room was so beautiful, quiet and comfortable. We woke up to a beautifully presented breakfast that was healthy and bursting with flavor. Our favorites were the sorbet and fruit, crostini and the lovey and delightful cheesecake. The small plates of deliciousness are sure to please any foodie. We highly recommend staying at the Shiloh Chennault Estate when you are visiting the area. Polina and Jonathan are great hosts who have a tremendous wealth of knowledge of fine art and military history. Shiloh Chennault Estate is very special treat that you don't want to miss.

She checked me in, helped me select my nail color and then offered some spa water while I waited for Lauren, their nail tech, to finish up with her client. Lauren did a super job on my nails and was very polite and friendly, I enjoyed our conversation during my manicure. Both make you feel welcomed and at home. A very relaxing and elegant spa.

We checked in here because there are only 3 hotels in town and the other 2 were booked. The owner was very nice at check in and you can't beat the price. The room was quite beat up and hadn't been updated for many, many years. Think dark wood paneling on the walls. The room looked clean, but had debris under the bed and behind the furniture. Several of the lights were broken and there was only one working outlet in the room. The bed was very comfortable and seemed to be the only thing that had been replaced in 20 years. The tube television had a good amount of premium channels. The air conditioner barely blew cold, but it was quite chilly most of the time we were there, so this didn't matter to us. The internet was good, but quite slow when the motel was full. The water pressure is good in the very dated showers. There is no onsite laundry, but there is one about a block up the street. The area is very safe (think small town safe). There is a Piggly Wiggly about a block away and a 24 hour convenience store across the street. There are many fast food and sit down restaurants on HWY 30. All in all this would not be my first choice of a hotel, If given the choice. It would be 2 stars if not for the owners who gave great customer service and went out of their way to make sure our stay was as good as it could be. As the nearest state run park operated on a first-come first serve basis only, and because I was unwilling to drive 160+ miles in my RV only to find all camping spots were taken, I decided to try for the nearest private RV park, where reservations (theoretically) would be accepted. The following review is based on 10 minutes I spent at this remote private-RV-campground-cum-gun club four miles outside of Corinth, MS (and a full 28 miles from the Shiloh Military Park--did I mention the park is poorly served in terms of RV camping?). But after 10 minutes of inspection I left the park hurriedly with my woman-traveling-alone-danger-sense sizzling. This private park is inconveniently far out of town, so any supplies you need such as ice or food, you need to get while in town. There is no campground store. I could not get the owner to return my phone calls, either a month or a day before my arrival, and when I arrived in mid-afternoon there was no one on duty, and no instructions about what to do. The park consisted of 10 or 12 sites carved out of a raw dirt hillside with no shade whatsoever. I could see no shower house nor other facilities. One elderly gentleman (one of only two RVs in the whole park) was kind enough to talk to me. He told me there were some possible shaded sites down in one direction, and that I could leave cash payment at a little hut in the opposite direction. The shaded sites appeared to be down a dirt track into an obscure corner of the property, and I couldn't see the little hut. He said the owner lived up the hill and I could call him. While the man was kind to speak with me, the feeling I had of the campground was one of desolation, unrelieved sunshine, no amenities, and nothing to do. Sitting outside the RV was unthinkable, and what could I do and where could I go anyway? And maybe I'm a 21st century wimpy type but having a gun club 25 feet away sort of gave me the creeps. I just couldn't imagine staying there overnight.

The trail hike, a family friendly, short and sweet, hike, with the lead of an incredible State Park Ranger. The park Ranger graciously led the way and read the story aloud. It was a family fun event. Afterwards, we were able to drive through the Christmas lights through the park. It reminded us as a similar show, from the Memphis Shelby Farms starry nights, so nice to have this here at the Pickwick State Park. There's over 30 miles of trails, including the Azalea Spring Day Loop (2.95 mi), the Big Hill Pond Access Trail (0.30 mi), the Big Hill Pond Trail (4.75 mi), the Dogwood Point Trail (3.10 mi), the Dry Ridge Trail (2.85 mi), the Fox Hollow Trail (.65 mi), the Horse (& Mtn Bike) Trail (6.0 mi), the Rocky Knob Trail (2.40 mi), the Turkey Call Trail (2.45 mi), and the Tuscumbia Trail (2.30 mi). They also offer rentals of kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards in the summer. When we went, the trail to the observation tower was out of pocket due to flooding, so we definitely want to go back.

The trails are decently marked and there are over 30 miles to be hiked of varying difficulty. The observation tower is worth seeing and the trail to get there isn't terribly long. Camp sites are a little close to each other but I don't think it's ever busy here so it's a mute point. Bathrooms are the cleanest I've seen in a TN state park!! You have to use wood from the park and there is plenty of it, but bring a hatchet, you'll need it to split the big pieces! The staff were also very welcoming! Park is horse and pet friendly! I will be visiting again soon!!
