Stayed here for one night while cycling on the Trace. The two main requirements for cyclists are hot showers and food. Both were in abundance. We had sloppy Joes, with pasta salad and other sides plus a homemade berry cobbler. The rooms are large, clean and we even needed heat which worked fine. This is a spot worth supporting if you ever find yourself in this part of Tennesee. read more

This review is for the restaurant. My uncle and I had dinner here this evening. We are both from out of town. He had the baby back ribs "sticky style" and he said they were the best ribs he has ever had. I had a grilled chicken salad and an order of sweet potato fries. The fries were as good as any I have had. The salad was a salad. I think it was iceberg lettuce. Everything was fresh. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was friendly and attentive. They do allow you to bring your own alcohol, but they do not sell any at the restaurant, so make sure you bring it, if you want it. read more

My husband and I came in from Memphis to stay at the bed and breakfast for a weekend. The grounds are gorgeous. The owners live downstairs and the bed and breakfast is upstairs. We were the only ones booked that weekend, so we had the whole upstairs to ourselves. There's a large deck that's perfect for having a drink and taking in the view. There are two hummingbird feeders hung up, and we could have watched the beautiful creatures flit about for hours. Noel made us biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon the first morning. We asked if we could have the blueberry pancakes we'd read about in other reviews the next day. He happily whipped us up some sausage and pancakes with fresh blueberries from a nearby blueberry farm the second morning. Sheri and Noel were excellent hosts, and offered many helpful suggestions that made our trips to the area's wineries, distilleries and the Natchez Trace Parkway more enjoyable. If we find ourselves in the area, we will definitely stay there again. read more

This is actually a campground and restaraunt. Found this while camping on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Hoenwald, TN. Sign said seafood so the 3 of us tried it. We got there nearly at closing time but the staff was happy to serve us. The catfish was really good, sides and hush puppies were all very tasty. I've been here twice in the last two weeks and both times hit the spot. Coming from Memphis, this is a great place to start riding on the Natchez Trace and then when you finish up in the afternoon, you can grab a delicious dinner before heading back to the city. Yes, it's quite a drive from Memphis, but thanks to Fall Hollow, it's a manageable commute on a full stomach after a long day of riding. The owners are very friendly and the food is great. I had a 1/2 lb burger and was very happy with it. I would highly recommend this place if you're biking on the Natchez Trace, it's one of the few options along the route and has a lot to offer. read more

Unfortunate Experience: We rolled through on our cycling tour expecting a relaxing campground and full menu restaurant. It was cold so we called ahead early that morning to book a "cabin." When we arrived 8 hours later we were greeted by the owner but were disappointed to find that the restaurant is now closed. (The website and advertising do not reflect this.) Apparently, they can't keep good help. Weary and hungry travelers we were we had no warm food to look forward to. Upon arriving at our cabin we realized it was nothing but a shed without insulation. The temps dropped into the twenties that night and the owner complained that the air conditioner/heater wasn't working quite right. After huddling in the cabin for a few hours it was still freezing. We managed to ask the camp host about the heating issues, lack of linens/blankets, etc. Lots of excuses. He managed to procure another heater from the owner who never showed face again during this. The temperature never crested 56 all night in the shed and the camp host charged us another $20 to drive us to get food after we had already paid 4 star hotel prices and a tip for the shed. The showers were hot but poorly lit and trash was piled up nearby. Way overpriced. We should have kept going to a NPS campground. The place has seen better days. We won't be back again. read more

Great place to stay for all ages. Has 3 beautiful creek access areas that are safe for the kids to play at. The only downside to this place is there is literally no WiFi or phone signal to call out. Also highly recommend the Junkyard Dog Restaurant in Hohenwald! It is very close to the campground and has absolutely amazing food! read more

Fall Hollow Restaurant closed in June 2015. I was super sad to see this restaurant close. They had the best grilled catfish in town, and the hushpuppies were second to none. I loved the fact that they would bring them to you as appetizers--I always filled up on them and could hardly touch my supper. My husband loved the steaks and said they were the best he had ever had. The décor was cute--huge radio-controlled airplanes hung from the ceiling when you walked in. The owners, Bill and Kathy were just the nicest folks, too. When friends came to visit, this was the place we always brought them to eat. read more

It's a bit out of town, and has limited hours, but this is the best place in the area for fried catfish by far. And the hushpuppies are the best I have ever had anywhere. I hope the chef has his recipe in a safe deposit box somewhere so that when he is gone someone else can make them! I've never had anything else there, but I gather from guests we have taken out there with us that the other menu items are good too. But really, why go to a catfish shack unless you are going to get catfish? read more

I don't know about being closed but I stopped here today traveling the Trace and this place is awesome...... great food, super clean, great services, great setting. Wish I would of found this place sooner. Portions are great. I don't care for brisket but tried theirs and loved it.... (yeah right it surpised me too) the ribs were finger licking good and the pulled pork was great. I left full but still wanting more (if I would of ate any more I would of been hurting. A good kind of hurt but still hurting.) I will be coming back... We have family coming to Tenn in a few weeks for graduation and this is a must for us to share with them...... the baked beans was yummy along with the coleslaw and don't get me started on their texas toast...(((( I had to get a extra piece of this) The only thing that could make this place any cooler is that they have a lot of empty land around this place. Through up a tarp get a projector and play some ole westerns at night and offer picnic tables out there to eat your dinner and have a great time...... Can't wait to come back in a few weeks. read more
