Repairs to the front steps (boards need replaced for safety) and better blinds covering front windows are necessary. The bathroom is super tiny and the vanity should be replaced. It's beat up and doors are just for ascetic purposes. Not any storage space for your personal stuff. Lastly, the noise. The cabin we rented is very close to the highway. This isn't mentioned in the description. If you do decide to rent, call them directly and ask for a cabin in the back of the property. It's pricey in my opinion considering the issues I listed here. Lots of families with kids. Golf carts everywhere. Still, everyone seemed respectful of their neighbors. No large loud party goers keeping everyone up. Multiple rangers patrol so I guess that's why everyone was so well behaved, but those same rangers were VERY polite and seemed to enjoy their jobs. There is a boat ramp in the primitive campground so we launched our kayak from that area. The bath houses were heavily used during this busy period, but the park did a nice job keeping them clean and stocked. The closest grocery store is about 10 minutes away, and it is small (Foodland). Others have commented on the beauty of the park so I won't, but it IS a very pretty place to spend some time...
