SoundWaves is a HUMONGOUS indoor and outdoor water theme park. It includes a Flow Rider, Infinity Pool for adults, water slides, daybeds, cabanas and seating areas plus spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery. The Basement - Arcade, Game Tables, Virtual Reality, Rock Climbing and Party Rooms is in the lower level and is open to all guests. Check-In was seamless where I received my wristband which was hood for the entire day. There is an elevator for those with strollers, wheelchairs, scooters or mobility challenges who can't do the stairs. I spent my time in the adults only area and practically had the space all to myself. There's an LED screen where the main pool is that plays music videos from a variety of artists. Once you get hungry from all that activity, Decibels has good and drinks. There's also a full bar in the adults only area. It was a perfect way to relax and wind down from a very BUSY conference. Absolutely loved Soundwaves. Unfortunately, my 2 and 3 year olds were still too small for the big waterslides but we will look forward to those in the future! They had multiple kid areas, basketball, surfing, two lazy rivers, a huge wave pool with music, rock climbing wall, food and drink areas, a Lilly pad obstacle course, etc. There was even an arcade and real rock climbing wall near the entrance. We had a blast, especially down the lazy rivers. We saw multiple people fall, so be careful on the slippery floors with bare feet! I would also recommend beating or holding off on the lunch rush. We waited 20 minutes in line to order, and another 20 minutes or so to get food. Overall, great experience and we will definitely come back! read more

We stayed here for a conference and it was soo nice to just be in the hotel and hop over to the water park. The layout was pretty open and it was really fun. Plenty of chairs, outside and inside parts. The slides were super cool and various parts you could go in and pools, and basketball, volleyball, in the water, tube belts that can help get the tubes up and lifeguards everywhere. This was just right! We go to Great Wolf at least twice a quarter with our family of 5. This waterpark checked all of the boxes! The slides for littlest adventurer, two separate lazy river with different speeds which our teen absolutely loved, wave pool for our little fish! The outdoor wave pool was just one of my absolute FAVORITE! The water was a perfect temperature it was beautiful to look at, there's a screen and music playing, I cannot forget the lounge chairs & umbrellas surrounding it! There's also an adult floor with a bar, infinity pool, oversized pool chairs and lounge chairs. Core memories made! Booked a little 72 hour stay at the Opry hotel based on a video I found on Instagram because of the Soundwaves waterpark. And 10 for 10 recommend and would do it again! We surprised our twin six-year-olds, who were turning seven with a little destination birthday trip. Had our cousins meet us there for a double surprise. And this might have been our best birthday/family Vacay ever! I mean, Opry the hotel is immaculate and you don't really have to ever leave once you're there. And the soundwaves waterpark is like double icing on top of the most perfect cake. Even when it rains, you can still enjoy the inside waterpark, and because it is private to only hotel guests, it never felt crowded. We never really had to wait in line for a waterslide, the two lazy rivers were never over congested, and the individual surf lessons on the surf machine might've been a family favorite. We just kept trying over and over and over again until we could do the tricks they were teaching us. Bonus: amazing instructors! Our stay-cation at GOH was nice. Bonvoy has a great check-in experience for Elite Marriott members. We booked the Soundwaves package. Positives are the adults-only areas, nice staff, and several pools and activities to choose from. Negatives - $42 for 2 small alcoholic beverages plus tip? Crazy. Those resort fees are real. The water and indoor section was very warm. I was looking for a cool off with 90 degrees outside but the indoor section was over 90 degrees inside! Some areas need to be updated, and some slides were not working so unsure if this is worth the price. read more

SoundWaves is phenomenal!!! With both indoor and outdoor spaces, the wave pool (definitely the star attraction), and a peaceful adult infinity pool for relaxing and reading made for a really fun and balanced day. We enjoyed frozen cocktails from the outdoor Rhythm bar and food from deciBels inside the park and loved having a space that felt both playful and slightly upscale. I love how comfy all the chairs are, the tables and umbrellas make for ease, front chairs in the wave pool are basically like being in the water, which is so relaxing, the live music videos are so fun, and plenty of free beach towels throughout as needed. One large air body dryer which is helpful if leaving before dry. The one major letdown was the change in the lazy river setup as they've removed the traditional inner tubes and replaced them with awkward foam floats. They're hard to relax in, and you end up spending the whole time trying not to bump your head or crash into someone. The old setup felt much more carefree and gentle. For one-night stays, it would make a big difference to offer full-day SoundWaves access (10am-8pm) on both check-in and check-out days. As it stands, the noon-to-noon window feels pretty limited once you factor in check-in time, meals, and needing to check out and leave your room (especially with no access to showers afterward). read more

We spent a day at this waterpark while staying at the Opreyland Hotel, over Thanksgiving. The water was nice and warm and felt good. Our 2.5yr old daughter loved floating down the lazy river with us and I think we looped it more than 30 times. There was a great kid's area with splash pads and shallow waters. Lifejackets for all sizes and ages are provided, as are towels. Our daughter had such. Great time that we will make this a Thanksgiving tradition. This water park is located at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. For a resort connected water park, I was expecting just a little more than a few pools. I was wrong! This place has an awesome outside setup with slides, kid areas, and a wave pool with an awesome screen that had old music videos playing. I had an evening pass, and after about an hour, we got rained out and moved to the inside. Well the inside is just as great as outside. 2 lazy rivers and several great slides. A rock climbing wall in a pool too! I was sad to see the huge multi person tube slide wasn't operational, but I went by myself, so I was fine to do the single slides. The bars and restaurants within were great too. I was drooling over someone else's nachos, and I got a frozen cocktail that was delicious even though it was $20. Took my 2 year old here for her friend's birthday party and she had a blast! Since I was keeping up with my little and I'm pregnant, I skipped most areas of the park and stuck to the kids' area and lazy river. We went early evening on a Friday and it wasn't crowded at all. Especially in the toddler pool, we had the space to ourselves most of the time. The place was very clean with lots of lifeguards around, plus free life vests available to borrow in sizes from small child to adult. Once inside the park, there are restrooms with changing stalls and a couple of showers. There's also a fold down diaper changing station. Just outside the restrooms are lockers that cost an extra fee. Most of the lockers are small, so I recommend packing as lightly as possible. If you don't want the extra security of a locker and can keep up with your belongings more or less, there are lots of chairs around and you can leave your things on a chair. I stashed our bag in a locker, but left our towels and flip flops on a chair by the toddler pool. There isn't really a secure place to leave a stroller; I folded ours and left it on top of the lockers without a problem. The only cons from this trip were regarding the lazy river. First, there are a few spots with fairly strong jets to keep people moving, but I felt they were a bit too strong and also caused my float to spin a lot. Secondly, it's a little tough to get out depending on how you're on the float! There's one drop off, so if you miss it, you're stuck for another round. To be fair, I'm very petite and had my kiddo on the float with me so it made it more difficult to maneuver. Probably a taller person or solo rider would have been fine. read more

There are a few slides.., a tandem, a single, a body surf, and one that 5 people go in one tube like deal... they are all fast! There is a lazy river, a rapids river, a wave pool, areas for just playing in the water, etc. The whole place is extremely CLEAN! What a great time... even though you stay at the hotel and have access you still have to pay to go to the water park. However it is a fantastic option and you don't have to leave at all. Haven't been to Nashville for years, but Sis wanted to check out the Ice Experience at Opryland and to try out a Tender Tennesse Christmas (Sis has been a fan of that song and wanted a down home Christmas). But the thing that locked down our visit was Soundwaves because Sis loves resorts and water parks and lazy rivers and this place has it all. School was still in session, so there were lots of visitors at Opryland, but no crowds whatsoever at SoundWaves. That meant we didn't have to lock down seats with our stuff, since there was a ton of open seating to the point that there were more seats than there were people by a ton. Everyday we made sure to spend at least two hours and it was great. The fast lazy river is a little weird because the lifeguards run back and forth to keep their eye on you (clearly there's been a lawsuit or something, which would explain their diligence). There's are a couple of jets on the ride that shoot hard so that the water keeps moving and if you stand right in front of them it hurts, but you'll get launched and it made us laugh our arses off. We also tried the kiddie lazy river and we must've spent most of their time in there- just floating back and forth, shooting the breeze and chilling. Again, the lifeguards had to run around to watch you, but I felt more bad for them having to work so hard so we could have fun. We tried the waterslides and they were fun and I like how you don't get dunked at the end, having to fight for your life to catch air. Instead youkinda get spit out and slide towards the end, nice and safe and in shallow water. The water temperature isn't cold, but it isn't exactly hot. It takes adjusting to, but you get used to it in a minute. Luckily we asked if there was an adult only section and on the top floor there is, along with a bartender serving drinks and food. The temperature is slightly warmer up there, so it's nice. There were also no kids or course, which makes it doubly nice. There are a couple of shower stalls in the restroom with communal type soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The bottles were broken, so it's a good idea but they have to make sure to refill them and make sure they work. Otherwise the place wuold have been perfect. read more

Amazing experiences and bonds forged. The rides are all amazing, especially the drop towers outside. The Rapid River and Lazy River are both great, and endless amounts of things to do. The reason I'm not giving it the full 5 stars are because of lines, price, and staff. The lines for all the best rides take forever! The price is insane. You can't just stop by at Soundwaves for the day. No, you have to purchase a ticket to stay the night at the hotel. That really isn't that bad, they have a very nice breakfast buffet and indoor gardens. It's great to explore, I recommend getting a balcony in one of the indoor gardens. I understand that staff don't want to be here. Nobody wants to watch people have fun all day and do nothing in the meanwhile. We once booked a cabana outside, but it rained that day, the next day, it rained again. The day before they had told us that we could have it the next day. The day after, we asked to be refunded, they said no and we are now down 500$ over nothing! I do recommend you go though. I always have a great time. read more

Labor Day was a blast! As a Tennesee Resident, I have been wondering what this looked like and I finally had the chance. The first trick is finding SoundWaves in the huge Gaylord hotel, then you are able to grab a chair inside or outside of the building. There is one wave pool located outside, two kid play areas inside and one outside, a lazy river inside and a more rapid river without floats also inside. There is also an activity pool that has basketball and wall walking. There are two huge slides both inside and outside. ^ tons of options to choose from. Along with those options, you can lounge both inside or outside where you are able to access both food and drinks! As a whole this place is great especially for out-of-towners it's right next to the hotel, for locals its right by Opry Mills. There are tons of towels so don't worry about bringing your own, but do bring sunscreen! The bathrooms have showers and all the necessities. Such a fun place! Will be returning! read more

This is one amazing indoor / outdoor waterpark! We visited during the winter when only the indoor waterpark area was open, but even still, there was enough fun to keep my family occupied for the whole day. We visited during the winter when it was cold in Nashville, but it didn't matter because Soundwaves keeps their temperature at a balmy 84 degrees inside. And it was pleasantly humid! We were walking around the indoor waterpark in our bathing suits and were very comfortable. The place is decorated with lots of plants and flowers, so you feel like you're in a tropical forest. Because we had children with us, we mostly relegated ourselves to the kid and toddler area. Quarter Note Cove is where we found a big splash pad that is made for babies and toddlers. This area has multiple water features, including sprinklers, bubblers and sprays, riding toys and a small slide. The water has a zero-depth entry that is perfect for little ones. In this area, the deepest water goes a little past a kid's ankles. For older kids there is Half Note Cove, which is a multi-level water playground designed for young children that's next to the splash pad. This play area has two water slides, including a big tube-shaped slide, water squirters that shoot water from a tower, and an enormous bucket that n pours water down in a waterfall. One of the great things about both the toddler area and the bigger kid area is that there are a lot of chairs around to sit in and relax, and you can pretty much see your kids from wherever you are sitting. Another favorite of ours was the Groovin' Lagoon Activity Pool. People of all ages were enjoying this area. Over in this section is a rock climbing wall, a lily pad walk, water basketball court and a 30-foot-wide water curtain. Down Tempo Lazy River is where we found inflated inner tubes and floated down a relaxing stream, through a cavernous rock feature lit up with LED lights. You can float by yourself on a one-person tube or go with someone on a two-person tube. The Up Tempo Rapid River is where you can zip along the faster-moving stream, complete with waterfalls and spray features. We had kids with us during this visit, but if we come back without kids, we would probably spend the whole time in the adults-only section of SoundWaves called Status Cymbal. This is where they have a bar, an infinity pool and lounge areas that overlook the rest of the water park. I want to come back during the warmer months to check out the outdoor portion of the waterpark. We'll have to make another trip to SoundWaves soon! read more

Sound waves was nothing but fun. Passes are bracelets for entryway. I definitely opted to be outside verses the inside for kids area. My little one loves the wave pool. Kids life jacket was great to have addition so we didn't have to carry ours in. If you have water shoes definitely a need. a bit rough on your feet without them. We rented a cabana and the service was awesome. Our guy waiter always checked in with us. The food was delicious but the price was for sure expensive but if your staycation it doesn't matter cause we were hungry. The annoying part was lightning weather was in the area so they asked everyone to go indoors. And the sky was sunny and no rain. We couldn't stay in our cabana for safety reason. Inside was jam packed like covid didn't exist. Definitely enjoyed a day at the resort. read more

A rare 5 stars but Sound Waves + Gaylord Opryland are a match made in Heaven. The marketing team does a fantastic job drawing people in, just look at their Instagram. I knew I had to take the family but dang is it expensive! Luckily, I found a code for 15% off our stay including 4 SoundWaves wristbands so keep a lookout! Check in process was simple, they verify your name and room before handing off wristbands to check in and out of the water park area. You enter in through the indoor fun- the BEST lazy river and "up tempo river" I've ever been in. The water moves quick (and quicker!) through caves, waterfalls and lights. Also indoors is a human dryer/heater and you absolutely have to try it. Upstairs is a cute, fun spot for young kiddos and downstairs is a smallish pool with basketball hoops and a climbing wall. Outside you'll find an awesome wave pool, slides, kids area, food trucks and alcohol slushees. I had the Watermelon Crawl and was very unimpressed for $17!!!! Crazy expensive and left without a buzz. I'd skip this next time. Tacos and BBQ pulled pork were good and mostly economical. The drop slide was fun but we just couldn't get away from the wave pool. It was so fun with the music videos and comfy chairs. Even the lifeguards seemed to appreciate their jobs. They were all very attentive. We WILL be back!! read more

Despite the wonderful experience we had at the hotel, Soundwaves waterpark could use some major improvement. Multiple slides were down for "mechanical issues" or so we were told. The Up Tempo Rapids was closed both days we were there. There was a multi person indoor slide down both days and the Tube slides were down for part of the last day. When we asked life guards how long one of the rides would be down or if it was down remainder of the day, they didn't speak, just shook their head and looked at us like we were annoying them. There was lifeguard training that lasted for at least 2 hours in the Wave Pool. They would shut the ride down at first but then made one lifeguard constantly train once they started up the waves again. I understand the need for training but not for hours at a time in the same water attraction. That was very unprofessional. We had to hunt towels down because they were not out at the entrance. Poor signage for where lockers and rest rooms are. There should be maps of each level instead of one map with floors layered on top of the other. We paid a lot of money for substandard service. This is peak season for the waterpark. You can do better. You have the non peak season to make sure all rides are working properly. It seems like you need to shut the waterpark down completely to get all maintenance done on all rides. That is what is best for the customer. The money would be worth it then. read more

Top notch water park and long overdue for Nashville. I know a lot of people won't like that you have to be a guest in the hotel to use the park, but I like it,because it helps keep the crowds down. Food for sale both indoors and outside, life jackets are available, and plenty of life guards everywhere. Towels are provided and they have tape pieces you can add to your chair to alert others that your chair is in use even though no one is currently there. Some very cool slides, two lazy rivers (one moves very quickly and has no tubes). Water basketball, rock climbing wall, lily pad jumping, surfing, water buckets that dump out when too full, and a wave pool that shows music videos (everything from Bee Gees, Queen, Garth Brooks in concert, to Dan & Shay, and Kelsea Ballerini. Two separate pool areas for younger children and an adult only area on a 3rd level. This is an add-on package for your stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort. Cost is an additional $48-54 depending on weekday or weekend. We checked in on Saturday and were able to use the water park from 10:00 am Sunday to noon Monday. The park closes at 8:00 pm. They have cabanas for rent at a daily rate of $200 indoors, and $300 outdoors. Human dyers are free to use and helped us not be soaking wet as we walked through the hotel to our room. Fast forward to our trip, we checked out Soundwaves a day before our cabana and asked if we needed separate tickets (just to double check for the next day). The worker said yes and that it was sold out. We told him we had a cabana and he said it didn't matter - we didn't have tickets. Super frustrating not only because the lady on the phone told us wrong information but because he didn't seem to care. He didn't try to help us and said that it was our fault that we didn't get separate tickets (he didn't apologize or anything). This ruined our day, and the rest of our trip. After the U.S. Chess Elementary Nationals, we stayed an extra day and on a weekday (Monday), after 3 p.m., the 'Sunset Special' is $24pp, (from $45pp). Our two families almost had the place to ourselves. Fantastic variety of water activity. We particularly enjoyed the slow and fast 'river' experiences. Well staffed with Lifeguards, mostly shallow with abundant vests in all sizes for the kids. An upstairs Adult only infinity pool and bar and an outdoor section opening this week (missed it by 5d :( Great indoor temperature. No chlorine smell and the salt water is easy on the skin. Bring your own water as their are no fountains and beverages are pricey. Don't leave without trying the 'Human Dryer' (think half 'lights that keep French fries warm', half full body hair dryer - in a sci-fi walk-in pod). read more

When you go to a waterpark, there are 2 main criteria that are non-negotiable. It has to be clean and it has to be safe. Soundwaves was 5 stars on both of those fronts. Additionally, there were plenty of towels, life jackets, and a walk-in drying machine to use on your way out. However, there were a few things that need to be improved for the whole experience to be five stars. 1.) Turn up the heat! of the water! The water was sooo cold. This is kind of a big one. It really does affect your overall enjoyment when the water seems frigid. 2.) Add more chairs. Our family of 4 was lucky to find 1 chair for our entire family. 3.) Not enough floats for the lazy river. That's more of an annoyance but something that could be easily remedied. read more

Polar bear plunge! We spent a weekend here the beginning of January. Soundwaves states that "the attraction will be kept at 84 degrees year round", but that was not the case. Everywhere we looked, to include our family, shivering kids and parents not wanting to get in the water. The coldest, shallowest, and attraction with most purple lips and shivering kids, the toddler area. The hallway walking in, temp was 54 degrees! Facility was clean and well kept, but like a small great wolf lodge. Nice bank of lockers, with nowhere to disrobe or put shoes on unless you want to grab your families stuff and stumble to a bathroom. We plan to give it a shot during the summer but will limit to one day instead of investing in a whole weekend like this one. read more

What an amazing water park! Loved the rapid lazy river. We also tried out the wave pool and surfing. The line to surf took over an hour so we didn't get to have time for the water slides. We did have a delay in signing the waiver for the surfing due to technical difficulties. So with the waiver issues and the line it took almost 2 hours of our park time. The music was wonderful but so loud we had a hard time talking to members of our group. Communication is key because this place is so huge it's easy to get separated from your group. It would be a wonderful addition it you could use this area the day of checking in and the day of checking out. There's so much to do and not enough time. read more

I figured it would be a great experience based off our previous experiences going, and IT WAS NOT!! The party cost over $800, and the staff were over an hour late giving us our food for the party. Donny the manager was so rude, and not knowledgeable about any of the park rules. He wouldn't even allow any parents in my party to buy additional tickets to come into the waterpark. He was very rude to my guest! This was such a waste of money!! The policies need to be changed. Depending on your package deal for your birthday party, they only allow you to have 10 tickets which includes the children and parents. This is a complete rip off!!! So for instance if you have a family of four you can only invite maybe 2 other children. It's not worth it! Please save your money and go to another waterpark in Nashville. read more

This is our 2nd trip to Nashville Soundwaves.Only 2 things that keeps this from 5 stars. Cold water and very hard uncomfortable chairs. I'm a grandmother that spends a fair amount of time in a chair and it wasn't pleasant. The kids had a good time but the cold water made it less fun. Was here over the Christmas holiday. Buy tickets in advance, and it was well worth the price. All-around great customer service. Water slides were clean and Covid free. Great staffing and customer service. The food was great too. Lots of choices. I'll be back again. read more
